That's Ok as long as you don't post the TAS'es here. You may post them in the Kaizo Hack Submissions or share them with any judges for opinions.

Hmm... ok one more quick question. Is there any bonus of any sort for making a level that's vanilla, like the original kaizos? Or should I make a point of tossing in a bunch of ExGFX and music and such to make it unique?

You mentioned bonuses in an "overall" category which seems curiously absent from the list of judging points.
There aren't any bonuses, but adding ExGFX will increase your Appeal.

Yeah, I was thinking about this before; the winning levels of the two contests (or at least the Best Kaizo level portion) would be TAS'd by the winner's choice. Of course, the person they picked could choose to decline, and they'd choose again.

A tentative idea for now, but yeah, little side-prize for you guys to think about.

Are the best entries going to be made into a hack?
That might be possible, but it won't be easy. Odds are everyone's using their own map16, and probably some custom blocks/sprites. Add in custom graphics and music and it might be too hard to make into a combined hack.

Anyway, I'm pretty happy with what I've got so far. I probably won't have any custom blocks in mine, though I might use custom sprites for the boss. Still have to add some custom graphics and music though.

Does anyone know if there's a hex edit that can prevent p-switch jumping? That's the only way to "break" one section of my level to get rid of that through level design I'd have to ruin one of my more interesting ideas.

Well, not really. It is very easy to insert it into another hack.

And I don't plan on putting the level into a hack, which you can do that on your own.

I guess I could TAS the winners of each contest, possibly the top 3 of each (if anyone is doing the second contest).
Well, I'm just thinking. Custom sprites, including possibly edited ones for some people, would be a pain to port. Odds are some would be in the same spots and would have to be moved, meaning you have to have the numbers changed in some of the levels. Custom blocks would have similar issues, while also having the possibility of creating map16 issues in addition to whatever ones already exist. Once that's taken care of, there's still the likelihood that custom music will need to be moved around, if there's enough space for all of it. Finally, there's likely to be conflicts with ExGFX requiring many to be renamed and moved, in addition to the chances that some players may have simply edited the GFX files, requiring new ExGFX to be made for their level sections.

And god help us if we involve patches, hex edits, ASM edits, and same-color switch palaces. And if someone makes a level with 3+ exits, that will wreak havoc with any attempt at making an overworld.

Long story short, if someone decided to make a single hack out of all of this, he'd have his work cut out for him. It would actually be a lot easier if there were specific rules like "maximum of 2 exits," "vanilla," "no editing the GFX page" and "no switch palaces" would make a collab much easier to make. Even with those rules you'd have some issues with map16 and ExGFX, but it would be far more manageable.
GFX, ExGFX, and map 16 pages are easy to convert. Well, you don't have to convert it to another hack. All you do is make another copy of that hack and start hacking away!!

How about we take a look over the collaboration hack of the last Hard Level Design Contest, which has been ongoing for about two years?

Nope...doesn't seem to be done. It hasn't been done after TWO YEARS. So I don't think that a collaboration should even be in our thoughts, especially considering we haven't even reached the deadline for the levels.

Well they've been making Overworld ASM, and an awesome final boss, so... Plus, we'll have a lot fewer entries.
