Well Jeorge, the same thing happens to me, except they don't stop the "mucking around". They never do.

*sigh*

I have the exact same problem as this. Kids, even my age, make unfunny joke after unfunny joke, and that is a major pain for me because I actually want to learn and do well in class.

Our class don't stop "mucking around" either. I wish they would, but I can't see that happening. I just want to get an education, so I get a good job. I am a quiet person, so I don't muck around. Free counters!
yea i have that problem too. The kids are so annoying, in almost every class too much people are loud and everyone talks too much so the teacher won't talk unless its quiet

Same with me, and after the class clams down there's always a few sharpies still yapping like little dogs.
Not sure which year of school you are in, but if you take the 'smart' path (academic/university level courses in high school), these idiots will slowly be weeded out and replaced with people who actually give a damn.

Just try and bear with them for a while, as stupid as they may be. Things will gradually improve for you.

(note: if you are already in grade 12 or higher, then I have immense amounts of pity for you and concern for the people acting like that).
Don't get me started on this... Some people just are incredibly aggrivating. Countless times a five minute task has taken half an hour and lessons have been wasted. I just try to ignore everything, which is not easy. I just hope things do improve.

Not blue.
I'm in mostly advanced classes in High School, so my classmates don't bother me. My normal classes, French and History (and, if you count it, Art), aren't bad either. People sometimes talk while the teacher is supposed to be talking, but no real problems come up.

It's fun because, in my advanced classes, the students often get to join in the discussion, and make jokes and everything, instead of the teacher lecturing for an hour while we all sit silent. We do some fun things, like instead of our usual Vocabulary Quiz, my Honors English teacher recently had us write a story using at least 12 of the 20 words.

I have good friends in all of my classes, and we all have our little inside jokes regarding our classes. It's very enjoyable, actually. Once I actually stopped hating school just because it was school, about halfway through last year in 9th Grade, it became immensely fun.

My brother, who's two years below me, often complains about people in his grade. He has a few advanced classes, but I don't know exactly what the rest are. The school system was all about becoming more advanced and demanding to get students to higher positions and standards as I went through, and even higher standards will be applied to his grade, but I sometimes don't know whether they're raising the standards or lowering them. There's an advanced "special" History class that includes various other activities that I was in, and he got in too. Scores on a test we took in 3rd Grade or so determined whether we got in, but apparently now it's as simple as a request, or something along those lines. I don't get it. Are they raising the standards but lowering the requirements? Sounds like a fatal combination to me...

Some of the members on this website are a few years younger, and it seems that the younger grades are less competent. I don't know if that's entirely true, but it seems like the case. I would just push forth with all of your requirements, and then you can get into advanced classes, like SNN said. Just make sure to get everything done and make sure it's a complete job that actually looks like you put some effort into it. There's a very clear difference, both in appearance and grade, between a chemistry assignment that was completed with all of the requirements and the same assignment with all of the answers copied from someone else without the work shown.
Yes, they're idiots. Actually they have a master brain: The Fad.
i just lurk sometimes
Wow, I've actually found a place filled with people who actually care about increasing their intelligence... I feel all warm and fuzzy inside. But anyway, I'm in a class where a good 90% will have trouble getting through year ten. What's worse is that my favourite subject, science, is where they muck up most. It sucks.
i hate ALL or my classmates!

why?
because they are ungrateful, immature, (they say "the teacher is EVIL D:")
even before the high school i had bad people as classmates!!!
then a new story is started:
i got in the high school, thinking that it was better, but after, my classmates started to taking around me only because i'm more mature than them and i'm very shy: yes, for how i acted in december (i mean when i got that ban D=) doesn't seems but i'm really a shy person: so shy that i never get to photo theard!

for my surname, they made fun of me calling me "cosmos"(for who saw above the "Grisbaman on facebook" image, he could know).

then, when a group of idiots finished to kid me, another group started to kid me, then it finished and another started etc....

this is just annoying! then, arrives Grisbaman to aggravate things!
and for my strange behavior, that bitch started to kid very excessively: offend my mother kind "why doesn't your mother sell to beggers?" or use hands to annoy me, offend, slaps etcetera: after i got mad until take a punishement >_< while her got to be the victim: fuck, fuck, FUCK!
and another thing that makes me mad is that this idiot is an educator of educational centers of socialization etcetera: a very good (and false, dirty) reputation!

all of my classmates are friends of this runt! and i can't stay in this school anymore! school is bad: at all, otherwise i don't know how you take the school!

even today they makes this stuff: is a similar thing happened to you too? immature and idiot classmates bitching you being a very good (and false) person?
I pretty much really dislike 65% of my school's population. 30% I don't care really, they're fine. Lastly, I like about 5%. The facts speak for themselves.

I'm in a private school, so the teachers make the students stop or they'll face consequences. So really, I don't have students like that.

Lucky me, ey? :D

Luckily I don't have as much of a problem during actual classes (or at least, less of a problem than others have stated.) I always seem to have that one catalyst in most of my classes, however, who says a bad joke, and like clockwork, the people around start laughing and talking about how boring the class is. Then they start talking about pointless minutiae, and the whole lesson is delayed until the next day, where everything repeats.
holy dear mother of christ this thing has been released
Ah, classmates, one of many reasons I left school over all to be home schooled, in high school they were a bunch of immature, annoying and stupid asswipes who would make life a hell for me and tease me and not give me any time to learn which just annoyed me to the point of wanting to punch their lights out. It wasn't bad until high school, I never really liked anyone there. :/
Most of my classmates are pretty good people. Of course, that was an entirely different story in elementary and middle school....let's just say that there used to be a lot of idiots around who refused to learn anything.
