SMW Central 2.0 Feature Suggestions

Link Thread Closed
It was directed at Knuckles. I requested a ban log, but not your idea of writing that in the user's profile.

What about a forum jump feature? Some forums I have joined have that. It would make it easier for every one. :P
I second Imamelia's suggestion of a new forum of intermediate hacking.
It would be good for people like me who have a firm grip on LM and other programs, but have difficulties now and than.

On a side note, when will SMW Central 2.0 be released?
Is there a an aproximated date, or not at all, or what?
I find noob is for asking how to get programs to work, basic is problems after getting them to work, and advanced is for making your own stuff for the programs. I think the forums are fine as they are.

Now, what is a forum jump feature? Do you type the name of a thread to automaticaly go there? If so, it wouldn't be too hard to search for it unless it's over a month old or so.

No. The forum jump feature can take you to a specific forum you want to without having going to this page.

I know Jul has a forum jump feature in the form of a drop-down menu if you want an example.

SMWC 2.0 Countdown: Only n days away! (where n represents the number of days away that the release of SMWC 2.0 is!)

Guess the reference.

Edit: New Title. Heh.
A SNN/Sonia/Multicoinblock/whatever other names he has reference. Oh joy. /Sarcasm

Yes, but have a "mark forum read" checkbox next to it. I found Jul's useless because I'd have to click that first anyway, bringing me back to the index page.
My projects - ROM hacks, Gameshark codes, homebrew, useful apps, online 65816 disassembler
SCAM: HomebreWare and Wiiunlocker

How about something that you put in at the ExGFX menu, so you can look for just Grassland ExGFX, and other such things. Then Someone doesn't have too look through the 900 ExGFX files just to find one ExGFX!

They could simply look under "G" for Grassland, "C" for custom, or use Ctrl + F to search for it.

How about a way to block certain peoples layouts as some of the ones I've seen are eyesores, absolutely aweful.

If they're that bad, you should send them a PM.

If you see a layout like that, just tell a staff member and we'll nuke it and PM the reason. If they keep on making bad layouts, we can just as easily disable their layout privileges.
It's dont have a tutorial section?

It's would be helpful if a tutorial section would be in place.

This section would regroup only tutorial(like saying how to make a path on over world...) by categorie, and no discussion except on a place that would be for mistakes in tutorials.

Why?
To reduce the number of question about something that's was already asked.
Because I feel that I'm not the only one who need tutorials and it seem that I can't find one and forced to ask a question that must be asked before... How boring...

What? There are many tutorials stickied in the forums, in the FAQ, and in the Documents section.

EDIT: How about making the member list search include former names? It shouldn't be too hard to implement, and it would be helpful in finding someone who happens to change their name a lot.

Here's my suggestion.

How about renaming the "programming" forum to "tool development" and maybe move it somewhere else that gets a little more attention?
Now with extra girl and extra hacker

Or just disable name changes completely and save the whole site from confusion...
What about the ability to delete posts in the thread you own? For example, I know you mods would see the users who spam, but what would happen if you did not seem to see it? Also, in one of my threads, everyone seemed to get away from the topic, so I wanted to delete some of the posts so they could get back to the original topic. Eh??

And if the forum owner abuses his delete power, you can simply ban him/her and close the thread. Simple as that.

What about a secondary Custom Title which displays the name which you are registered as?
