Super Mario World: Mario to the Rescue!

Standard

</table>
Hello! I just started working on a new ROM hack. It has no name, though. . . Anyways. . . I have a snapshot!

I put The Big Dipper in there. . .

I'll post new snapshots later! In the meantime. . . I'll be working on the hack!

CREDITS: Picture edited by: Paint.NET. Icegoom for the sprites.

Someone on IRC asked if this was a joke, so I just wanted to confirm.
Sorry, but I really don't have anything to comment on that screenshot - it seems like you have just randomly scattered brown "used" blocks around the level, and that screen doesn't look really attractive (no offense) - try taking screenshots of things that we can actually find nice, as for example, screenshots regarding your level design.

Well, I'll be waiting to seeing more screenshots of your hack. Otherwise, I may have to close this thread, due to the lack of "productive" screenshots... sorry. :/
</table>
No. . . It's not. . . Why'd they think that? Trust me, I won't break the rules that easily.

EDIT: Okay. . . Well, I guess I'll try. . .

EDIT: Okay! I'm trying my hardest! I'm changing the level, the stlye, and just about anything else!

That's one!

Two!

Three!

Can I keep the thread?

Those are better than the previous screenshot, but they're still... err... uhh... boring. Try adding some more decorations to that level, such as bushes, berries, etc, as well as adding enemies and maybe coins to it, too - it just looks too plain like that. Nonetheless, it's nice to see that you succesfully flipped the munchers by using the 16x16 tile editor - rather nice, I guess.

EDIT: Yeah, I don't think there are chances of this thread getting deleted anymore. WOO!
</table>
I will. It's just in progress. I'll put decorations in.

EDIT: Oh. . . I didn't flip them. It came with a patch. . . The same reason I have those graphics. . .

EDIT 2: Really!? YAY!! Well, I hopefully will keep this thread alive! Of course, if anybody deletes it. . . Then forget it. . .

Also, don't make it jsut a boring way like Yoshi walking like thru 5-6 screens of munchers. Add some creativity and etc. ;)
meh
</table>
Okay! I will be creative. . . If you call gaps that will trap you, then sure. I'll be creative!

Those screenshots are kinda...boring. It isn't really entertaining to have the player run across a field in a one-tile-high corridor where you can't jump because there are munchers right on top of your head. Also, the same thing for the second screenshot. And, for the third screenshot, if you plan on keeping it like that, then I would highly suggest variating the height of those pipes, so it doesn't look so flat.

But I really suggest you replace most pipes with ground/upside-down ground, and then you can add slopes, bushes, fruit, enemies, coin, etc., to not make the level boring. It looks really far from entertaining right now...Sorry.

No no no no what the hell. Please do not do that. That is really bad game designing, having places where you can get stuck. Again, please NEVER do that.

umm, that's kaizo, traps are unfair to hack players and aren't accepted here, just a heads up. ;)
Unless there's a way out, but yea, if your stuck til the time runs out, that's called Kaizo.

Oh. . . Okay, that's been changed. Thanks for the heads up!

I just want to know how that username wasn't taken already. lol.
I've removed my NoFades patch until I can find the brightness code for Star Road warps.
</table>
It wasn't? Odd. . . Anyways, I might just have this thread closed down. . . It's obvious everyone is going to give it bad ratings (Or something like that). . . Come on, close it down. . . I was just trying to have some fun. . .

Hey.....it's just because you don't have alot to show, like non boring stuff. BUt, hey, that's no reason to just forget aobut it so soon, it takes effort and patience to make a hack, and no one is flaming the hack, there just giving critisism, which is good.
meh
</table>
Well, I have to admit, that helped me out. I guess I'll keep this thread. . . And the hack. . .

NononononoNO! Don't ever say that!

Listen, Just because you started with a little boring start doesn not mean it will be a Bad hack! I started out like this too, in fact, everyone did! Just remember, we are trying to help you make it the best you can be, not shoot you down and make you wish you never even started Editing the game. It's all about perseverance, keeping at it until you get something everyone can enjoy! I would say that you might need to Add some enemies, as I havn't seen any but Munchers, and those aren't even Sprites. Remember, Keep at it, and someday you might get a featured hack!

And The reason that name was most likely not taken is that every figured when they had to come up with a name, Super Mario was taken, so they tried something else!

EDIT: I can hear sonic saying "Your too slow!" -_-
No, don't give up! You should really keep the thread and the hack. Just take some of the criticism we posted here, and don't care about posts that don't give feedback or anything. Just take the criticism and improve what you've done, and you can get some solid work.
