On topic though, this is... well, I can't describe how awesome this is. As soon as I read the file name, I was expecting something with the Card Crusher face, but I didn't think it would be that cool. Great job! (Yeah, there are some bugs, but I'd be happy if I could make something half as advanced.)
The only thing that really annoyed me was this Card Crusher face... It doesn't exactly scare me, but I've seen it so many times and it's getting annoying - I don't like memes that much anyway. As Superyoshi suggested, make it a nice landscape or something (it supports more than 2 colors, right?), and you can be sure I'll open this 10 times a day. ;)

(On a side note, it seems everyone around here is learning ASM way quicker than I do... I really need to participate in the ASM workshop.)

It was just a lulz test.
I'm using Mode 7 right now to make a SMK replica.
It's coming along quite well.

Yep, although with using SMW GFX file 0B, only 8 colours are available in total due to failing decompression.
The SMK replica will have full 256-colour compatibility though (I'm just going to load ExGFX or something)

There's also Mode 7 + ExtBG which supports 2 layers.
Layer 1 here is 256 colours, while layer 2 is 128 colours, but layer 2 can have priority per pixel (the 7th bit of the graphics byte is exchanged for a priority bit)

Right so, the first sprite I ever made. Well, the first actually useful sprite. :D

But hey a video is worth a million words.

But in case you prefer words, basically, its supposed to be a cannon that scales walls and shoots a custom sprite as projectile specified in the ASM file. I used Skwaa's awesome vertical lock routine to make it follow Mario up and down, and it dies when it hits the ceiling basically. I may put some extra functions if people suggest it and I'm able to do it.

Oh and, those Beezo graphics are not the final ones, I just can't draw, or think of any game to rip cannon graphics from.

Woah Buster that's friggin amazing for a first sprite .-. IMO the GFX are fine right now, except maybe the projectiles he shoots. You could release it, or do what the cool people do and use it for your own glory :S

Are you going to make a Metroid-styled hack, beside your LoZ-styled hack?
Yeah. I want to do a side hack. A sort of mini hack, I guess. I'm getting kind of burned out on the Zelda hack, so if I do something else for a while, I will feel more like working on the Zelda hack when I'm done with the side hack. It won't be a huge project because I don't want to get stuck on two huge projects at one time.
I've removed my NoFades patch until I can find the brightness code for Star Road warps.

Holy crap, ICB, that's some good stuff. I take it you're planning on making a Metroid-esque hack. I hope to see it soon.

Also, nice pikaguy. Not sure if I could put it to use, but good.
So I made my first (working) custom sprite. It disables ALL sounds in a level.

A video says more than 3E8 words. *shot for Skwaa reference*

And the Download.

It could be useful for simple cutscenes with door-forwarding, so it disables the door sound. Or if the teleport blocks are over Mario and you want to let the player jump to advance. Or for more logical space levels.

If a sprite mod sees this: please add the above passage to the sprite description of this sprite. Then edit this out.

It's nothing big, but hey, my first sprite :D
