Kaizo Mario World

Kaizo

Okay so we all remember the horrible Kaizo Mario World, right? I bet you recognize it as another name, though, as Sibladeko has done a whole run/LP through both Kaizo Mario World and its sequel??? In case you don't know a link for the ROM nor the series of videos...

Kaizo Mario is even hard when you use Game Genie.

You know you're f***ed when Game Genie can't help.

Ah, this hack brings back good memories, and bad. Especially when you ARE THE WORLD RECORD HOLDER FOR FASTEST TIME, then that's good.

Although some people use game genie because they suck, it's not that hard...

EXPLOSIVE POO
Stacked Munchers... Cutoff tiles... Ridiculous challenges...

That's Kaizo alright.
It was a pain to get through, but it was nothing compared to Kussotarre. 0.o

Click here to download It! :D
At least Kaizo is fair compared to other hacks, especially the SMWCentral Kaizo Pack...
I was played Kaizo Mario (Kaizo Mario 2, too) through, but I think, it's no so horrible. OK, sometimes I had to slow down (Of course I was use savestates).
I think, the Super Mario Intrigue is harder.
I would never play Kaizo, even with tools and such. I mean with the tools it might actually be fun, but... Stacked Munchers, not so much the other things... Stacked Munchers are probably my all-time #1 pet peeve out of all the noob-hack techniques, probably because I've seen so many on YouTube and then I tell the authors they need to improve and I get my head bitten off for it. Not fun.

A friend of mine in the SMW hacking scene (won't say his name) is trying to make a *professional-looking* Kaizo hack. As in, no floating Munchers, no cut-off tiles, looks just like a professional hack, but is just difficult to the point of requiring savestates and tools. He's probably adding lots of custom blocks and sprites too to make it work better. I look forward to a hack like that... I've always wanted to play a Kaizo hack (with tools of course) but couldn't bring myself to open a hack with floating munchers. :S (I also heard the site wouldn't accept a hack like that, even if it was professional, which is kind of a shame, but hey.)
It's me!!

High on life is the best high.

From what I gather a big part of the reason why the smwcentral hard level hack is taking so long is for that very reason.

Well, that and constant miscommunication.

Try playing my hack, Springboard and Shells hack. You would literally DIE after (before) the intro.
Don't brag about your hack being hard, because if you have a hack even the slightest bit like Kaizo, it will be bad. No offense to anyone who submits these hacks. Yes, I know some people like these hacks, and that's fine. You guys can have your own opinion.

I've played Kaizo before and let me tell you, it's one of the worst hacks I have ever come across. After I played the first level I was aggravated and warn out, so I put in cheat codes. I came across some levels that were almost impossible without them. I mean, come on. How in the world does the creator expect us to pass these levels?!

From what I've heard, the creator didn't. I heard Kaizo Mario was supposed to be the hardest hack ever made. Instead, it is a base for most hacks today. Kaizo is pretty easy with savestates compared to perhaps most hacks today, unfortunately. Take this from someone who beat Kaizo Mario World twice (one offline, and one as a series on YT), and who has had a taste of different kinds of "Youtube" Hacks, almost all based on some kind of Kaizo.

It's rather sad people aren't trying to create very interesting hacks like the ones you see here. It's like everyone on YT wants to see people suffer through "screw you" hacks, but even more if the person actually beats it. I think that's the main reason people will want to see other people attempt to beat the levels in the SMWC Kaizo Pack (I'm one of them LPing it, unfortunately).

Well I don't think I'm on friend status with the Schwa :P but I'm doing something like that too, just as a side project. I've got 2 videos up over at my youtube channel (check bottom right of layout), called Craizo Mario...

Honestly, I'm fine with Kaizo hacks, if they have good gfx :3 Problem is, not many hacks are like that :[

<-- this is the dope on dope
Just for the record, Kaizo (the original) was meant to be played by his buddy without savestate, and the original niconico video series was indeed without savestates.

Remember, as a whole japanese entertainement is not to reward victory, but to punish mistakes!

Was it Sibladeko?

Man I wish the creator made a Kaizo Mario World 3. I would love to play that. (Kaizo Mario World IS NOT HARD AT ALL I did an entire LP of Kaizo Mario World Without savestates (on my YouTube channel)
Is the SMWCentral Kaizo pack different from the hard level compilation and if so where can it be downloaded?

For what it's worth I reckon Kaizo is hard but not too hard. It was the first SMW hack I ever played and I was still able to beat it, with savestates but without slowdown. Beating it without savestates is way beyond my ability at the moment however. I tried to get past the first level without savestates for about an hour once, and I almost got to the halfway gate but messed it up on the easy bit where you have to spin jump on the spiny. Needless to say I was rather frustrated!

Kaizo without savestates is not hard. Kaizo without savestates AND rewinds is a different story. I beat all of Kaizo 1 without the need of savestates in four parts...

Part 1
Part 2
Part 3
Part 4

Kaizo Mario World 2 is unfinished.
you are good
I'll never win that game
I meant without rewinds as well. I wonder if anyone has done it without either; I would like to see that.

Without rewinds is killer. I might try to do that.
