Could I request an edit of KilloZapit's savegame expansion, to only save the SCORE value (RAM address $0F34). That's the most important value I need to have saved, anyway. I applied the patch, and everything saves properly, except lives, which always just reset to 1 after saving and resetting. Since the SCORE, however, saves properly, I'd just like to take out all other save functions since I don't really need them.

The score in your hack is the 6-digit-coin-counter? If so, Fuzzyfreak made xkas out of it, which also asves it.

That aside, I wanted to mention that my request can spawn door sprite or door object, which ever is simpler. There is a door sprite, I suppose you can use that.

EDIT: I've failed to mention that this is a rather important sprite, and I absolutely cannot insert blocks (believe me, I've tried). I'll even take ASM that assembles a block in a location, provided it works, but sprites have show absolutely no problems. It doesn't need to appear with smoke or have anything fancy, it just needs to WORK.

Reminder, 30 & 112 exit requirement for a door. I'll be eternally grateful to whoever does this.
Could I have a sprite that disables opening the cape (and subsequently, flight) for just a single level, please?

I've been seeing some Japanese hacks where in some levels, trying to fly with a cape results in floating down toward the ground, while in other levels, the cape flight works perfectly.

I would like to request a reoccurring asm code that will play a sfx continually in repeat ion if Mario is down to one heart, btw this needs to be compatible with the health patch. Kind of like in Zelda games when Link is near death.
Ok forget my other request, this is -sorta- way more important.

Could someone please give me the code to make a sprite get hurt when it's hit with a STUNNED sprite (like key is already stunned, Goomba is when jumped on etc etc)? All it needs to do is decrease a ram address and make a sound effect like birdo when being hit by an egg when it's hit with a sprite which has the stunned status?

Basically, i'm trying out spriting, and i'm trying to make a custom boss, but I hit a roadblock.

ok, I know this sounds sudden but forget my last request.

New Request: A 1-up sprite.

Why? Well my game uses the health patch and I made the red mushrooms into stationary hearts, via hex and graphics editing. And it would look odd to the player if they found a green or discolored heart. (they would probably avoid it because they thought it was bad!) If I could add an extra sprite that worked like a 1-up I could use a green mushroom instead via Ex-Graphics of course./s]

Uh.
Just inform your players that green hearts are extra lives, though they realize that anyway without a warning. The ones you should warn players about are poisonous ones.

It's either that or do something fancy with palettes, so when it's the normal red palette, it looks like a heart, but when you swap to a green palette, it looks like a 1UP. Like so:



This would involve having 2 of the same color on 2 palettes so that when you switch, you wouldn't see one color, but 2. If that sounds like too much, I'll give it a shot.

To AlexJS: Yea I thought about that and I'm going to do something different.
I'm going to make a copy of the gfx file that contains the power-up 1-up sprite and make it a ex-graphics file with a correct green mushroom in the place of the heart.
Since my hack has the item box disabled all I would need to do is place the 1-up in a separate level and make it a kind of freebie hidden room kind of thing.
Yes! I went ahead and tried your idea, it glitch the berries pallete but it worked! Thanks AJS!

NEW request: A modified shop block that would give Mario the power-up directly rather then into his item box.
Since my hack does not utilize the item box the shop blocks on this site would not work. The price also needs to be modifiable like the original.

You could tweak the current 1-Up sprite to make it use the second graphics page instead of the first, and then put your 1-Up graphics over (whatever) in SP3.

If I moderated your hack, there was apparently a 90 percent chance it was rejected.
Could I request a timer sprite that counts upwards and displays another seperate time of which you died earlier? If you could just make it count upwards, that would be fine to.
Alright. I'll admit that learning how to edit ASM is rather tedious for me, as programming isn't really much of my forte. (I don't have much time or patience to learn about it all anyways due to college.) So, I'd like to request the following disassemblies for the following SMW sprites (in order from most wanted to least wanted):

Urchin: I'm interested in making a rideable variant of the wall-following Urchins (that follow surfaces like a Lil' Sparky or Hothead), and by rideable, I mean that Mario can ride on top of it (like a Mega Mole), but could still be damaged by it when touched from below or from the sides.

Dry Bones: I'd like to know what makes Dry Bones, and Bony Beetles, fall apart when jumped on, and reform after a set period of time. I'd like to then apply that scripting to other enemies to create new, unique enemies (like a skeletal kangaroo-like enemy).

Dino Torch: The fact that they chase after Mario and will jump over terrain to reach him makes me want to create small (16x16 pixel) enemies that pursue Mario in a similar way (though without the fire breathing) while using this sprite as a base. Now if only I could figure out how to keep them from breathing fire...

Torpedo Ted & Launcher: Like the Urchin, I'd like to create a rideable variant that, like a Mega Mole, could be ridden on, yet would damage Mario when hit from below or either side. I'd probably turn the sprites into some sort of missile-like enemy when used out of water.

Edit: I just read at the beginning of this thread (after making this post) that I can only post one request at a time. If that is true, then could I just limit it down to just the Urchin sprite for now, then request for the others individually later on?
