Hardest boss dimension

Ignoring RPG bosses for this discussion, are bosses generally harder to fight when in a 3D gaming environment or a 2D gaming environment?

I think 3D bosses are easier because 3D games give you more mobility... genreally speaking that is.
Oh, it is so on.
depends. A 3D boss would be harder to hit, seeing as there is more space, and it has to be in a exact, or general location, but, it would be also harder for the enemy to hit you. In 2D bosses, it is easier to hit a boss, however, there is less space, or room.

It also depends how many hits a boss takes. The hardest boss in my opinion, is in fact, 2D.
I really don't think you can judge a boss's difficulty based whether you fight in in 2d or 3d (unless you're talking about specific bosses from Super Paper Mario since you have the option to fight it in either or both).

In theory, a boss could fill the entire room with death regardless of if it is in 2d or 3d space. This rarely happens since to be fun, a boss needs to be challenging, but not impossible and a boss that gives you nowhere to run and nowhere to hide is impossible... but it COULD happen.

Thinking logically, a boss would normally be harder to fight in 2-D because you have fewer directions to dodge, and less options in movement. A boss can more easily fill more screen in 2-D, or as NamelessProtagonist puts it, fill it with death.
How is it any easier to fill an area with virtual death if it is a different size than another? Theres no limit to the potential any boss could have for... lets say fireing millions of energy balls that instant kill you. There may be more space to fill, but theres no limit to a boss's potential to fill it other than what the creator sets.

All I can say is, the 2-D LoZ bosses were harder than the 3-d, same with Mario and Metroid.

I don't usually play 3d games with bosses, but usually 2-d bosses are harder. You would have to take the SAME 2 bosses and play them in both dimensions.
Crysis [Done on Delta]
Rise of Nations [Very Hard]
Combat Arms [2.2 K/D] {Stopped Playing}
Unreal Tournament III [Adept] {Beat campaign on hard}
Guild Wars [sucking lol]

Yah they were, except for the orignial SMW bosses, they were way to easy. I found the Ganon Puppet from LoZ:WW to be quite difficult the first few times, and the bosses of the new 2D LoZ games are not living up to the name, the ones on Minish Cap are just too easy! So if you ask me, 2D are harder, but if Nintendo doesn't up the difficulty on some bosses in LoZ games, then they shouldn't even be called LoZ anymore ;_; I'm sorry, but the bosses in Twilight Princess almost made me cry out of boredom, they were just the same fight over and over again! Nintendo, I know you are trying to make the games easier for younger players, but if you continue then all the vetran players will leave!

So anyway, 2D for the win!

It all depends on how used you are to type of dimension. I find bosses in both dimensions easy or hard (depends on wether or not i have a good strategy for them)
