KTB's Domain - Dramatic readings / narrations / voice acting / ASMR / songs / gaming

I've been told all my life that I have a decent voice for radio or audiobook reading. Well, I have been on public radio before, and I have recorded complete audiobooks, and it's something that I admit I have a lot of fun doing. More recently, I've been interested in expanding this out a bit
partly because anything that takes my mind off of college and math and science and such gives me infinite joy
and trying to make it into more of a "thing".

Here is my first attempt in a long time at trying to put myself into the shoes of a character for the purpose of a roleplay-styled video. This one is meant to be a relaxing script, in which I'm a barista talking to the listener, who is implied to be some sort of agent or detective. The script was written by my college housemate, who is a super talented writer / musician and is part of the reason why I became motivated to get into this again in the first place. You can find their channel (along with some of their other work) here. I did all of the editing myself, with sound effects taken from freesound.org.

Anyways, don't expect Troy Baker-level acting here, but I do plan on doing more of these in the future!

Not bad! I'm not generally into these sorts of things (ASMR) but I do have an appreciation for narration. I'd say those people telling you that you've got the gift of voice are correct - quite pleasant to listen to. Take this with a grain of salt, as I am no expert or even really versed on the subject at all, but I think that you would do well to up your tempo a smidge. I feel like that would make it come across as more natural and less scripted. Your colleague is also quite talented for writing, I think.
You have a very sexy voice and that was a nice little distraction! #w{=3}

I definitely agree, I think you absolutely have what it takes to do more with your voice. You definitely have potential!
Feel free to visit my website/blog - it's updated rarely, but it looks pretty cool!
I almost made a new thread for this, but I figured that it would probably be cleaner of me to keep my own creations / projects in one thread.

Anyways, I do music too. Here is a cover I just did of one of my favorite songs right now, "Punisher" by Phoebe Bridgers.

If anyone has any song recommendations, I'm looking for new songs to attempt recordings of!

In honor of the newest VLDC beginning, I've decided to try my hand again at recording gaming videos. Starting from the VLDC1!

Part 1. I've already recorded later parts (I did a one-hour session and will chop it up into smaller bits from there), so more will come tomorrow.

Completely unrelated to anything else I've shared in this thread: Here is a video I've been cooking up for a while that documents the old M A R I O story from ages past. It's probably going to be more interesting to people here than most of what I've done, anyway, since it actually relates to SMWC. I talk about more than just the original hack / Adam's story, and also go on to discuss some of the later hacks and files that M A R I O created - at least, the ones I was able to get my hands on.

I'm pretty proud of it, to be honest. It's 50 minutes long and took more time and effort than anything else I've created for this channel. It's my first attempt at a "video documentary", and it's only been uploaded for a week, but it's already become one of the most viewed videos I've ever made! It currently has over 8k views, and it's even gotten me over 200 subscribers as well (I had around 120 subscribers before, now I've got over 350). Sweet!

Since my last post, the video I linked actually kind of blew up, and I've been making "sequel" videos ever since where I cover other creepy things and stories from the internet, especially ROM hacks. Here are some of my others:

Coronation Day / 'the (My biggest video yet; with almost a quarter of a million views)
Eon8 and Eon5 (Much more obscure)
Smile Dog (Halloween special)

I've been having a lot of fun doing these, and it's becoming more and more of a "thing". I recently hit 5k subscribers, so that's pretty cool.
