Places in Dinosaur Land but not officially named in Super Mario World (SMW):

Other places in Dinosaur Land but not officially named in Super Mario World (SMW):
* The island north of Donut Plains
* Two islands east of Chocolate Island
* A small wall under the Cheese Bridge
* The water around the Bowser statue in the middle of Dinosaur Land

As for these places without an official name, what names would you give them?

The island north of Donut Plains, I have an idea to name it 'Lost Island', I also have an idea to create a ROM Hack with this island

Most Dinosaur Land names, most are food names

I'm using an Android phone, through ExaGear, I can open Lunar Magic

I’ll try and think of some, although I’m not sure this is the right section (sorry for minimodding)

Here are the names I came up with:

North of Donut Plains: Bagel Island (bagels are similar to donuts)

East of Choco island: Peanut Butter Isle (Peanut Butter goes well with chocolate)

Beneath Cheese Bridge: Yogurt Cliff (yogurt is made of dairy, like cheese and butter)

Surrounding the Valley of Bowser entrance: Coffee Bay (the bitter taste and dark look of coffee suits bowser’s personality, and it’s hot like bowser’s fire breath, and it goes with chocolate, referencing how it’s near Choco Island)

I tried to go with the food theme present in most of the other areas

Huh, I didn’t know that, interesting. I’ve actually had Ramune occasionally.

It’s similarly shaped to a donut, but is more similar to your traditional bread. It’s often eaten with breakfast and comes in many varieties.

in the japanese version of smw (aka an official source), sunken ghost ship is called ラムネかいこうのちんぼつせん (ラムネ海溝の沈没船)

ラムネ海溝 = Ramune trench
の = possessive particle
沈没船 = sunken ship

therefore, it translates to "sunken ship of Ramune trench"

that'll be $5 plus tax plus tip
question i have: what is the hill with eyes behind ludwig's castle called?
also: does the entire special world take place on top of the hill with eyes in star world, or do you get teleported elsewhere? this hill also has no name
another one of these anonymous hills appears on yoshi's island after completing the first level

these lore questions are certainly important, you'd think big brain miyamoto must have thought of something but here we are havingn to fill in the blanks #smw{-_-2}
Torchkas

The highest mountain on Yoshi's Island is called Kappa Mountain, this mountain is located in the 'Yellow Switch Palace'

Kappa is not a Mario series character
Kappa that's it https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kappa_(folklore)

The reason for the name is because the mountain looks like a Kappa.

There are several people working on the games, so one of those people might have done something.
An example is the name Yoshi, take a look at the credits of Super Mario World, there's a person named Yoshihiro Nomoto, it seems that this person asked to put his name on the dinosaur in SMW (but I don't know)

I believe torchkas is referring to the three very large hills. one appears near Ludwig's castle, which gets hit with the castle and gets a bandage once it is cleared. There is also a similarly large hill below and to the left of Kappa Mountain. One of these very large hills also appears in the middle of the star world, with the star leading to the special world on top of it. For names, I would say

Yoshi's Island: Sunny Side Hill (Sunny Side Up is a way to cook eggs, perfect for a Yoshi-themed location)

Cookie Mountain: Mount Biscuit (Biscuit means cookie)

Star World: Comet Hill (comets are often called shooting stars)

Love this. I’ve noticed that there seem to be 3 types of naming schemes hacks commonly use. There’s the Nintendo-ish naming scheme, which tries to name things in a similar way to how Nintendo did in SMW or in other Mario games and is commonly used in traditional hacks, there’s the serious naming scheme, which gives everything a serious or dignified feel, common in Kaizo hacks but is also used in other hacks with a serious tone, and there’s this type of naming scheme, which has a more meme-y vibe to it, and is also commonly used in Kaizo hacks as well as joke and troll hacks.

I don't think it's there anymore. I remember watching it in 2006 and searching for it some years after but couldn't turn up the result I wanted.
