ASMT - Ice World
The only reason I'm not submitting it to SMW Central is because I used the original txt as a basis for the remix which belongs to Kil. It is available for download, but I'm not comfortable uploading it to the section simply due to Kil not being easy to find now-in-days. Yeah uh just been told that it was actually prsnth1111 who made the track. Oops.
Anyway this remix is very much inspired by the remix as heard in the
A2MT Trailer (e: just notified that
this video shows the full song, but I still took inspiration from the cut in the trailer). As much as I don't use them, I love Romancing Saga 3's soundfont and ASMT used it a fair bit, thus it makes sense to use them in this case. Despite the txt being from
Kil prsnth1111 there's a fair bit I did to it, like the added percussion, the change-up in instruments, and the tempo effects. I actually wanted to show raocow this song during his advent, but he was already slammed with ambushes so adding one more (it being music related) I don't think would've been appropriate.
Castlevania - Out of Time
Hooded Edge beat me to releasing a remix of this track, even though I did reveal it first during a Farolicious stream. Regardless, my version! It takes a lot of influence from the Smash Ultimate remix. This includes extending the intro a fair margin and adding in various guitars. Of course, instead of using violins, I decided to go with organs since the one part sounded EXTREMELY good with it during initial listening in FL studio. Uses a lot of classic Squaresoft instruments.
I still can't believe Smash Ultimate exists the way it does.
Mega Man 3 - Spark Man
If you're confused why Sonic is mentioned in the "Comments", originally I had a segment mixed in from Sonic but it wasn't working out so I scrapped it last minute)
So
this remix was also a personal favourite of mine, but I wanted to try my hand at making my own version especially after realizing "oh shit it's Hooded Edge's birthday soon".
Daizo proceeds to not finish it for Hooded Edge's birthday. BUT I DID IT NOW, and I even had him look over it since it was for him. After working at it for a bit, the song is available!
Sped up the tempo, gave it as many guitars as I could on SNES, and basically went all out on it.
Even snuck in crocodile cacophony just for good measure...also because Hooded likes Donkey Kong.
Super Mario Marker - SMB Ghost House
Okay so I had this song that was destined to be ported for
a while (back in 2018 actually). Decided to finally port it! I wanted to try my hand on making it a lot more atmospheric while also making it "dark" sounding (a lot of lower notes). Also just for good measure, added FF6 breathing near the end because 2spooky4me.
This one, when I submit it to the music section I will probably add more to it for the 2nd loop. But as is, it works so I'm happy with releasing it now since I'm sure some people don't want percussion.

Arrival of the Young Hero & Arrival of the Elder Villain
Believe it or not, both of these are the same song. Or at least, that's how I intended these two to be made during Idol 8. If you didn't know that...well, you do now! These were made with the mindset of having to compose two tracks: one "normal" track, and a dark variant. A lot of people during the contest didn't get the leitmotif connection since they are very far apart stylistically, but if you pay attention you can hear the same notes played in both songs (minus any major/minor and key differences). So these are a much more refined version of the tracks heard in that competition, this time with some more modern techniques I've recently used for a lot of my own recent songs/remixes.
These two came from the title screen and Larry's Castle in SMW Challenges. When I wrote these, I sorta imagined them being in a game of opposites, a very folk tale story of a young hero defeating some elderly villain, quite literal opposites of each other.
Hey did you know Elder Villain is the first time I played with a heavy use of military styled snare patterns?
Wild Lush Woods
Yeah, some of you might know this one from a previous C3, especially when I tried to use orchestra hits on this song (baaaad idea). For this iteration, I spiced up the bass a fair margin and used an instrument suggested by Scooter102089 to replace the orchestra hits. This version is the same one from SMW Challenges.
"This is just Kidnap The Sandy Claws"
The second ever heard track from my slowly-developing SUPERwave Mix album, "Pumped Up On Detached Cliffs", publicly released! So in case you're unaware, SUPERwave is a sample-scratch album where the gimmick is I take a number of samples from different official songs and mix them into a song that can be put onto the SNES much like Earthbound and now recently "Casio Mario World". The first one was
The Master Challenge from Krack The Hack, which originally was called "Ever Crossing the Bastille Battlefield".
Fun fact: this song is a result of asking my own mother what songs she liked, then I sorta took samples from there. I couldn't fit all of them neatly, but "Pump Up the Volume" and "Cliffs of Dover" made it in. The one sample I really wanted to use I had to separate, which is why the Special World in SMW Challenges is just "Bohemian Rhapsody".

Super Mario World: The After Years II Official Soundtrack Preview
EvilGuy0613's biggest romhack, as a collab between him, me, mellonpizza and Scooter102089, has original custom songs and remixes made by yours truly! I asked if Evil was fine with showing off a small portion of the stuff I wrote for it, and he didn't mind so I added them in! There's some remixes in here, but most of them are my own work. (See if you recognize some of the leitmotifs I snuck in!)
I am hard-focused on making my best friends' project the best it can be, so original songs seems like a very good choice to make. There isn't an entire original OST, but I wrote 20+ songs so far for it and don't plan on stopping. Hopefully this leaves a good taste for what's to come! (For some songs I recommend downloading the zip directly and listening to them in SNES SPC700 Player and going to "Settings>Interpolation>Cubic Spine".
