VOTE #1: Jordan Rudess - Why I Dream | This song grabbed me HARD at the very beginning with its vocals giving me a very theatrical vibe, almost like a song from a stageshow musical, which I actually enjoyed quite a lot with the fun vibe the song had. Around the middle I thought if it kept going like that it would start dragging but right as I was getting tired of it it hit me with that really really good piano solo, into a FANTASTIC guitar solo that just went out of control and kept me hooked until the end. I think the song could've maybe been a little shorter, but overall still a pretty damn good song.

VOTE #2: An Endless Sporadic - Impulse | When this song started I thought it was pretty underwhelming for prog rock, but after the violin section, man it just kept picking up with some really nice guitar sequences, time signature changes, and a really nice keyboard at one point. I wasn't sure at first but it really really won me over by the end.

----

-The Band - Up On Cripple Creek | This song isn't really trying to do much so it's fairly lowkey, but it has a really chill vibe. In particular the star of this song was the really really funky bassline and the keyboard; not to say the other instruments were bad (I think the vocals did a great job), but those were the main standouts for me, in particular the bassline.

-David Gates - Suite: Clouds and Rain | Less than four minutes. Disqualified. (Should have been the last part on its own).

-Chris Geddes - Distant Shores | On God?

-John Coltrane - Venus | I don't know man, I haven't heard great things about JohnTron. Heard he hates immigrants or something.

-Dilly Dally - Know Yourself | This is the remix of the night (garbage).

-Yasunori Mitsuda - Activate Burning Phase | This song ain't bad and has some really nice violin stuff but it just didn't really do that much for me, or in general honestly.

----

PRE-REVIEW JAM: Señor Coconut y Su Conjunto - Chachachá: I guess I'm one of "your" hispanics now!

MID-REVIEW JAM: Dirty Loops - Rock You | What an absolute banger. I'm a huge Dirty Loops fan, from their striking vocals to their absolutely fire bassline and trumpets, they just emit an extremely funky feelgood vibe. Love this one in particular.
The Band - Up On Cripple Creek (the good band, more like it!)
David Gates - Suite: Clouds and Rain (only other one i had strong feelings about, but it's pretty good)

shoutouts to john coltrane, also congrats drake u get the dilly dilly award of 2021!
1. David Gates - Suite: Clouds and Rain (honestly, I liked this a lot more than I really expected to, loved the intro and the overall feel of this one, and the synths used were very neat; also I'm pretty sure the synth used in the 7 minute mark is literally the same as this Sonic Adventure 2 track, which I found funny as all hell lmao)

2. Jordan Rudess - Why I Dream (Mr. Dream Theater keyboardist guy. anyway, this is prog, and cool prog at that; synths are on point, guitar is shredding, and is all around a very cool song in general. Jordan Rudess is a cool guy with a cool beard #tb{:)})

3. An Endless Sporadic - Impulse (this is prog as well I assume? well, either way, while it is very cool sounding and kind of wanted to nominate this, the other tracks just won me over a little bit more sadly, so uh. yeah. prog is cool #tb{:)})

4. Dilly Dally - Know Yourself (enjoyed this one a lot more than I was expecting actually lmao; dunno what the fuck the original track is supposed to be, but it sounds neat, kinda brutal and intense, just the way I like this music to be :P)

5. Yasunori Mitsuda - Activate Burning Phase (well, this certainly sounds like something Mitsuda would do LOL; anyway, it's good honestly, I just wished there was more going for it... which I guess fits where this likely plays in the game, but it certainly doesn't make it as good to listen to on it's own sadly also shoutouts to all the Super Onze fans out there)

6. John Coltrane - Venus (freeform jazz. ngl, this is pretty fucked up, and I love the whole concept of free jazz in general since it's just a bunch of people going nuts and doing whatever they want on their instruments, which definitely sounds like fun... but when rating it as music that's listenable enough, yeah, not nearly as good LMAO)

7. The Band - Up On Cripple Creek (ehh, it's fine I guess. personally, the only interesting thing about this one is that I saw a Primus song being in the recommended videos on the side, and it just made me wanted to listen to Primus instead LOL)

8. Chris Geddes - Distant Shores (boring, pirate-y sounding orchestral shit. meh.)

I KEEP missing sets! #w{x(}

1. Yasumasa Kitagawa - Partners ~ The Game is Afoot! Let's Dance, my Dear Fellow!!: Excuse me, dancing.

2. Takeshi - G (RayForce): The bass and piano in this song are just gravy.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Fearofdark - Lovesickness: 8/16 bit music is marvelous.

Chris Christodoulou - Reaper (and) Blues: This song is a little heavy on the hip-hop inspiration for my taste, but the oscillating keyboard sounded cool.

Fond My Mind: The reverb used in this song made it sound huge.

BilliumMoto - Door Nock (Long): Well that was certainly something wasn't it.

Ginger Root - Juban District: This reminds me of XTC, so yes I like it.

Setsuo Yamamoto & Tokuro Fujiwara - Round 02 Riverside: Retro game music. Of course it's good.

My headphones broke, so I got new ones today and this is the first set I'm listening to with them. The set definitely didn't let me down, I'll tell you that much; EASILY one of the best sets so far, maybe even the best.

1. ??? - Fond My Mind: From what I gather after reading the comments, no one knows who sings this song or even where it came from. That history combined with the low quality of the sound makes this fascinating to listen to, and in a way I think the song is enhanced by how crusty it sounds.
2. Ginger Root - Juban District: This is Vibing Music™
---------------
3. Takeshi - G (RayForce): This one's pretty good. Nothing mind-blowing, but a pleasant song nonetheless.
4. Chris Christodoulou - Reaper (and) Blues: This one's pretty good. Nice and chill song, easy to listen to.
5. Setsuo Yamamoto & Tokuro Fujiwara - Round 02 Riverside: I'm already very familiar with this song, and while I do like it a lot, it's not something I'd vote for in a tournament setting like this.
6. BilliumMoto - Door Nock (Long): I feel the exact same way about this song that I felt about Symphony Number Vibe back in Set D:
"Complete guilty pleasure music. I'd make a Geometry Dash level with this."
7. Yasumasa Kitagawa - Partners ~ The Game is Afoot! Let's Dance, my Dear Fellow!!: Meh
8. Fearofdark - Lovesickness: I forgot what most of this song sounds like immediately after listening to it
