Description
I want a flaming charred leaf graphic for a custom sprite. I want the flames to be animated (moving in a wavy pattern) and translucent, and the leaf to be a charred nearly black leaf.

Style:
I would prefer graphics that look like they would belong in smw. If you need inspiration this level from DK tropical freeze is what my level is based on, so it would be a great reference.

Coloring Style: I was thinking a dark grey/black pallete for the leaf, as if it were charred, and then translucent oranges/yellows/reds for the flames on the leaf.
While making a more charred or blackened leaf would be fairly straight forward the rest of your request is kind of out of the scope of a graphic replacement.
For one the leaf is already a set size within the sprite so unless you're editing the ASM there's going to be space constrains. You can't make just part of the palette translucent, the SNES doesn't work that way so you'd either need to settle for dithering or solid colors.
Animating it is another issue depending on how someone would go about it, either the flames would be moving with the wave of the leaf since again the amount of frames is already coded in, or you'd be using ExAnimation but getting that to sync up with a multi-frame sprite can be a pain.

Personally I think you need to lower your expectations about this request since what you want is kind of not possible right now.

ExAnimation ain't that easy and as Ninja Boy mentioned, you would run in a lot of issues to sync it. Perhaps you could paint the leaf to indicate they hurt? It would require a good ammount of ASM to achieve something "simple", that ain't worth the headache. Sorry, perhaps try requesting something more simpler next time.
