The most memorable for me.
Honorable mention:
NONA REEVES - Satisfy for the 90s vibe.
another round where I honestly liked all of them, hard to choose favorites but I'm going with

1. con letitud poderosa
2. circ and pompumstance

and the rest of my rankings, from best to worst
satisfy, disclosure, elect, dome, xenoblade, uncreation
Jin Watanabe - Dome

Now that I've started working, I won't be able to be as active as before. This is really very sad and depressing for me.

WORK IN PROGRESS
▬ good old days 4 (10/? level(s) completed)
▬ dumb 2 - strange levels in my notepad (22/62 level(s) completed)
----------
By the way my Youtube channel
Can't say I enjoyed this set nearly as much as the first, but ah well. It happens.

1. NONA REEVES - Satisfy: Super catchy song, I like this one a lot. I might have to look into more of this band's stuff.
2. Deelatch - Circ and Pompumstance: I don't think I've ever described a song as janky before, but this song right here is janky; definitely one of the more interesting ones I've heard thus far. I like it.
---------------
3. Jin Watanabe - Dome: This song's not BAD, but it's nothing mind-blowing.
4. niki (feat. lily) - ELECT: I honestly just found this song kind of annoying, but I feel like I'd like it more if I listened to it a few more times.
5. Chris Christodoulou - ...con lentitud poderosa: This is one of those songs where I feel like it would need to be put over a video montage or something to really stand out. Just listening to it by itself didn't do much for me, but it's probably much better in the context of the game it's from.
6. Yoko Shimomura - Main Theme [Xenoblade Chronicles]: This is a nice song, but it's not something I'd go out of my way to listen to. I also feel like the Chris Christodoulou song has a much better sense of progression.
7. Dan Swanö - Uncreation: This song's instrumental is pretty good (reminds me of Mega Man X5's soundtrack, actually), but WOW the vocals here are bad. I feel like they just don't fit the vibe of the instrumental at all.
8. Disclosure (feat. Kelis) - Watch Your Step: Definitely not a fan of this one, it's just really boring EDM.
Check out my WIP romhack!
niki (feat. lily) - ELECT
Chris Christodoulou - …con lentitud poderosa
So this is the B set. The choice was a little bit challenging than the first one. But still, we have to make our choices

1- Yoko Shimomura - Main Theme [Xenoblade Chronicles]
2- Chris Christodoulou - …con lentitud poderosa

3- niki (feat. lily) - ELECT
4- Jin Watanabe - Dome
5- Dan Swanö - Uncreation
6- NONA REEVES - Satisfy
7- Disclosure (feat. Kelis) - Watch Your Step
8- Deelatch - Circ and Pompumstance

See you guys next time on the next set. Best of luck to everyone!
Jin Watanabe - Dome
Deelatch - Circ and Pompumstance
The first pick was actually easy once I gave them all a run through the ears. The second pick... was a bit more murky. I ultimately chose based off of the other six feeling more like they're fighting for the same slot, directly or indirectly... whereas this one didn't. Actually, both of these didn't feel like they were directly competing with the others, thus allowing me to pick these two out.

My picks...
  • Yoko Shimomura - Main Theme [Xenoblade Chronicles]
  • Chris Christodoulou - …con lentitud poderosa
Yoko Shimomura - Main Theme [Xenoblade Chronicles]
Jin Watanabe - Dome
Jin Watanabe - Dome (nice vibes)
Nona Reeves - Satisfy (also nice vibes. this is the nice vibes tourney)

Circ and Pompumstance was really close, probably still the coolest song but a few parts are inconsistent. Pretty good round mostly.
I ended up juggling four songs it came down to for me, but as per usual, I can only have two.

1. niki (feat. lily) - ELECT
2. Yoko Shimomura - Main Theme [Xenoblade Chronicles]
What is a Lunar Magic, and can I eat it?
My commentary may sound a little mean at times, please dont take it personally <3

YES
Chris Christodoulou - …con lentitud poderosa
insta-win no match

niki (feat. lily) - ELECT
this goes, just far enough

NO?

Deelatch - Circ and Pompumstance
oh, this is a fucking vibe, unfortunately, not the vibest

Jin Watanabe - Dome
maybe i'd appreciate it more with more listens

NO

Dan Swanö - Uncreation
this is like 4 minutes longer than it really needs to be

Yoko Shimomura - Main Theme [Xenoblade Chronicles]
*yawn*

NONA REEVES - Satisfy
this one is just not my thing in the slightest, maybe it would've reached the "NO?" tier if it suddenly turned into a power metal song halfway through

Disclosure (feat. Kelis) - Watch Your Step
no thanks, send this one to the radio stations
Chris Christodoulou - …con lentitud poderosa
NONA REEVES - Satisfy
Windowless ride, feeling alive
Are you alive or just breathing?
1. Jin Watanabe - Dome (my nomination. just dig the vibes from this a lot, and I'm glad many others seem to think the same too haha)

2. niki (feat. lily) - ELECT (was a hard one to choose between this, Satisfy and Uncreation, but personally this one is more my style anyway so fuck it; love the audio production here btw)

3. NONA REEVES - Satisfy (pretty cool stuff, but yeah, ultimately not good enough to nominate for me; kind of surprised this kind of music is still being made in 2021 tho lol)

4. Dan Swanö - Uncreation (dunno why people hate this one so much honestly; the vocals are surprisingly subdued for this kind of vocal style, and it doesn't take much away from the excellent instrumental, which, like Jupi said, could totally fit one of the PS1 Megaman games due to the synths used, which is definitely a plus for me lmao)

5. Chris Christodoulou - …con lentitud poderosa (maybe if the intro wasn't so long maybe I would've considered this one, since the part right after it is honestly pretty cool, but sadly that isn't the case, so... meh I guess)

6. Disclosure (feat. Kelis) - Watch Your Step (honestly better than what I was really expecting, but ultimately not that amazing IMO)

7. Deelatch - Circ and Pompumstance (ehh, I don't really know what to feel about this one... kind of just felt nothing while listening to this personally)

8. Yoko Shimomura - Main Theme [Xenoblade Chronicles] (it's fine. there are better tracks from Xenoblade that could've been chosen instead honestly, mainly cuz Yoko's contributions in this soundtrack were surprisingly lacking and didn't impress me much at all)

I barely care about the rest; this top 2 slams though. ELECT made a valiant effort trying to grab me, but ultimately failed. Satisfy might've made it in my top 2 if I was in a different mood, but alas. Also, I remember when Disclosure was... relatively exciting, but this is downright dismal.

Deppy, can I request that the OP be updated with the link to the last post with the current-round info? Would make it easier to keep up-to-date.
Disclosure (feat. Kelis) - Watch Your Step
NONA REEVES - Satisfy

sure why not
ask me if i give a f*ck...
niki (feat. lily) - ELECT
I might be biased because I nominated this song, but I've also been singing it to myself all day and I find it to be the catchiest of the bunch.

Jin Watanabe - Dome
Simple but effective, the instrumentation absolutely slaps; I love the piano and strings/choir, and they have that charming crispiness to them. The song itself is also interesting and mysterious all throughout.

NONA REEVES - Satisfy
This one just sounds good.

Deelatch - Circ and Pompumstance
Very interesting song, and the chords are very funky. It feels slightly grating in parts, but that also works in the song's favour I think. Feels like dystopian elevator music.

Yoko Shimomura - Main Theme [Xenoblade Chronicles]
Too mellow for me in spite of the climax, and not a fan of orchestral strings that much unfortunately. That being said, I recognize that this song fits in with Xenoblade's actual Vibes... but not mine. It's fine, but it doesn't stand out to me.

Disclosure (feat. Kelis) - Watch Your Step
Very funky, and feels like a song that'd be fun to dance to. Not a fan of the mixing as some of the bitcrushed parts sound too loud, while the backing track also sounds a bit empty overall. I do really like the verse at 0:30 and its subsequent repeats. Easily the most fun parts of the song.

Chris Christodoulou - …con lentitud poderosa
I love that electric piano and some of those guitar riffs in the end. It's a competently composed song, but too creepy and melancholic for my taste for a good 2 minutes. I also feel like it takes way too long for the song to actually Start, and for something that's not that exciting in the end.

Dan Swanö - Uncreation
Instrumentation had me excited at the start, but I don't vibe with heavy metal, sorry. It's a shame, because I feel like the harshness of the vocals ruins (for me) what's otherwise a neat song.

Honestly, a tough call between the top 4.
