I wasn't, and never was planning on doing anything for C3. Over the past few days though, I (And a few of my friends) gradually kept thinking about a one-level collaboration hack, where anyone can make one sublevel, which then all get compiled into one continuous level at the end of C3.
There's a catch though, you get until the end of C3 to submit. so make the most out of what you have!
Without further ado, the submission rules:
- Accepted submissions formats are .bps or .mwl
- Include your map16 blocks, ExGFX and music as separate files alongside your level in a .zip, as well as the custom sprites, ASM and blocks used.
- Level UberASM without hijacks is allowed
- custom ExGFX, palettes and layer 3 tilemaps are allowed, for one sublevel only
- You are allowed to use a single map16 page.
- You are allowed to edit mario's global palette. In the compilation it will only take effect on your level.
- You can have up to 5 custom sprites
- No troll/unbeatable entries
- No joke entries as well
- No patches
- And, sorry to break it to you all, but no kaizo entries. Challenging entries are more than welcome though! Just consider that casual players will be playing this.
- You can only use a single song for your entry.
- Your level should end with a goal tape, orb, pipe or door exit.
- use this thread to submit.
HEADS UP:
- The compilation will have an unlimited timer and lives, and instant retry gamemode UberASM. Harder entries will be left to later parts of the level.
- At the beginning of every entry there will be a checkpoint.
- The player keeps powerups from the previous sublevel and will likely not end up in small Mario form for your entry! So take that into account.
- Remember that anyone can make a compilation using these entries, and not necessarily me.
- Your entry can be as short as a single screen and it will still be accepted, you don't need custom assets either, anything goes. Just submit and you'll be credited!
If this thread does not cover up something you're curious about, don't hesitate to ask.
Benny Harvey RIP, miss you big man.
