What's up everybody!
After a year or so of joining contests, here is an actual (unfinished) romhack from me this C3.
This project originally started from a contest hosted by Jikurein, but it quickly devolved into a full-fledged joint.

SO, WHAT IS EUDAIMONIA?
Eudaimonia is a VLDC styled kaizo hack inspired by numerous contest entries over the years.
It's pretty short (only 10 levels long) and not as high effort and grandiose as some of my other projects but I hope you enjoy it regardless.

The hack is not finished yet, I do need someone for a small overworld and a considerable amount of testing, but for now, you can enjoy this beta version #tb{:)}

PLAY THE HACK HERE

AND HERE'S A LITTLE PLAYLIST WITH EVERY LEVEL'S CLEAR VIDEO
I suck at ASM and AMK
I'd say this is high-effort enough. Every level is creative and fun, and you clearly put a ton of effort into Good Looking VLDC Aesthetics.

Congratulations on getting most of it out for C3!
I've watched every video of this in the past months and I think every level is cool and interesting. This is gonna be a lot of fun.
Not sure if it's a kaizo hack. Looks really good.
I feel like this hack will not only make me happy, but it is my destiny and complete fulfillment.

VLDC Styled kaizo. MegaPog
I'm not Insane
I don't know enough about Kaizo to comment on the level design; all I see is Funny Little Plumber Man Jumping, but what I can say is that it looks like a very satisfying kind of Funny Little Plumber Man Jumping, based on the clear videos.

That being said, the gimmicks per level actually look really interesting, and nicely coherent.

What I'm much more comfortable commenting on is the aesthetics though. These levels look gorgeous!

The layer 3 hills in of springs and 1F0, the confusing yet charming layer 2 usage in layer nonsense + the exanimation simulating an elevator, do they sink?'s layering that gives a sense of depth, the spooky forest BG in serial spinjumper, and I could keep going. You went above and beyond with aesthetics, and I think you made the most of the VLDC-like restrictions. The graphics and palettes are all so pretty!

Also, Sanctuary Guadian was weirdly fitting music for leap of faith.

It looks really cool, I will definitely play this.
I'm a bit hesitant to play this as I fear my skill level is too low for a hack like this, but having seen many of the clear videos I can say that it looks great. It looks like you have put a lot of effort into this! I'm a sucker for creative vanilla stuff, so this just might be a great hack for me when I possess the skills required to beat this.

Are you still in doubt? #smrpg{:O}

Either way, I've been readily following this hack in the kaizo subforum, and it's so eyecandy. I'm amazed at how creative you were with vanilla assets while combining tilesets ala VLDC. I too am a sucker for this sorta stuff, so I can totally get behind that.

Pretty cool stuff!

maybe read the part where the author says its a kaizo hack before responding.

anyways, this looks wacky as fuck. it's fun to see alternative forms of kaizo push the envelope a bit. good luck with getting this baby out.
From what I've seen from the Level Playlist is that so many of the levels have such a good flow and sense of speed to them.

"i saw(ed) the devil" looks like it'll be my fave to play.
I'm not a big kaizo player but I feel with the amount if impressive harder hacks been released at this C3 I don't see why I shouldn't stray out my comfort zone to try these types of hacks including this one.

Great Work! #smrpg{y}
I watched many of the videos you’ve been posting in #kaizo and I have to say this hack looks really cool. VLDC inspired and cool setups, a nice mixture. Looking forward to play the full hack. Good job!
I've seen bits and pieces of levels from the vids you posted on Discord, and they looked very interesting and creative. Nice to see you going mostly vanilla, after doing so many asm-heavy works, and I don't doubt its constraints were pretty frustrating to work with (I know it would frustrate me if I tried to do something similar, and I would just end up fixing every small problem with custom asm, lol). Cool that you now have every level in place, so I wish you good lock on the final polishing phase.
I haven't played your hack, but I have been watching your YouTube channel and it certainly seems promising. Good work!
This is looking really good, I liked watching the playlist and trying to figure out which each little thing could be in a vanilla sense.
Really an amazing hack.
I'm a bit afraid to ask since I've already seen them in idol's and S.N.N's VLDC level but:

those side-springs that can bounce throw blocks undefinitely are wonderful. Are they custom blocks or do they use a tile number behaviour? If so, which one? Curious about it.

Other than that I'm enjoying my watch of the videos, you seem to have good graphics and musics used. Oh and also neat design!
I've watched the videos.
It has a very cool atmosphere, a nice palette and graphics.
Good Job!
Now that I've started working, I won't be able to be as active as before. This is really very sad and depressing for me.

WORK IN PROGRESS
▬ good old days 4 (10/? level(s) completed)
▬ dumb 2 - strange levels in my notepad (22/62 level(s) completed)
----------
By the way my Youtube channel
I looked through all the videos and I must say, you've become a pretty great designer despite the fact that you haven't been on this site for that long. The atmosphere in the last stage was also incredible, and all of the music choices were very good.
Check out my WIP romhack!
