I mean, there's a possibility for anything. I don't personally know the guy, and there's a decent chance that no one else here does either.

His YouTube channel has a link to his Twitter page, which has been updated as recently as October. You might want to follow him there if you want a better chance of seeing what's going on with the guy's work.

Yes, that person always comes back should they feel like it. It's perfectly normal to lose interest midway.
I don't like to schedule how many days per week I should upload videos, but that's nothing but personal.

I was checking his channel the other day, and yeah, it kind of seems like he lost interest in uploading SM64 hack content, or just straight up burnt out. Maybe they'll come back. Maybe they won't. Either way, I would suggest finding someone else to watch in the meantime.

The trick to not burn out (at least for me) is to switch up to different things from time to time, so that you don't ever make one thing "your only thing".
Always keep another project or something to kind of put some down time between the thing you're going to do.

Juuuuuuust don't overdo it and overwhelm yourself...that too is almost just as bad or worse.
But now I am left with lots of time...and just too few people to help. I tend to be hardwired to want to help others. Perhaps a curse, but I think it balances out all the taking out there.

I swing by this site from time to time in hopes that something sparks my motivation for porting music again after being burned out. I still like listening to SPCs to this day and sometimes touch AMK when bored. I don't "vanish" from places very often... unless there's nothing left for me to prove or there's nothing left to gain in said places. But as of right now, I have other things keeping me from really doing much of anything SMW related. Mostly been preoccupied with other stuff.

Also... 50k registered users! Nice! Shame that rereg accounts are included in that number but ah well. Two thirds of the registered users has been around for longer than me (33316th user btw). And at 100k registered users, that would be one third of the site, whoa. O_O

That's true, although that can also have the opposite effect. If you get burned out by multiple of your projects, it might make you feel even worse for not being able to finish a single one them. Additionally, if you're someone with very little free time/motivation, like me, then every single project started exponentially reduces the chances of finishing any of them, because you just won't be able to dedicate time to so many projects. That's very much my current dilemma.

My problem is I only have burnout problems specifically with my projects that are actually important, i.e. uni stuff
I really could do ASM all day, but that won't make me any money :(
It's easily the best thing I've done
So why the empty numb?
In my case the burnout is with my master's degree, tightening each day #smrpg{argh}

I'm glad to have a high tolerance for burnout. I don't think I could pull off a master's degree unless I was really determined and passionate, and ready to go into debt, but I have found many of my college classes on my way to an associate's to be not very engaging. Usually the worst projects are final projects that have way too much weight for the overall grade. A good method for me has been starting the week out by laying out a project to at least score a passing grade and then refining it through the week as better ideas pop into my head. I have had much success with that strategy, but I can say that a few bad professors will ruin your drive pretty easily too. Overall I haven't found the college experience to be as fruitful as people make it out to be.

Now, even though the upholding duties part comes easy to me, I do find it very easy to start a bunch of new hobby projects and juggle way too much at once, often leading to a self inflicted backlog. No matter how much I acknowledge it I just can't help but get invested in making something new, even though there are a dozen other concurrent projects that need completion.

Reminds me of the time the professor of a class I took once told us that he doesn't like giving assignments/projects that could singlehandedly ruin your grade if you did poorly on it... then he proceeded to give us a final project that was worth half the grade( or more, I forget) so if you did poorly enough on it then you'd fail the class. He really convinced me of that policy of his...

Time to give a little update on my chair situation, since I promised to do so.

After a lot of consideration, I've decided to return it. I really wanted the chair to work for me. In fact, I can say that it definitely DID help with my back pain, which became immediately apparent after getting back onto my old chair, because my back immediately started hurting again. However, the pain in the butt just didn't go away, like the manual claimed it would after a while. In fact, a little bit into the second week, I felt like it was actually getting worse. Considering the chair's high price, returning it was the reasonable decision.

Unfortunately, the shop demands a fee of 80€ for returning the chair, because while average people can assemble it, dismantling it is only possible in a factory, meaning it can't be returned via the same shipping method that it came with. While I'm not the one who has to pay for that money, I still feel slightly bad.

All of that being said, I haven't given up yet. As I mentioned, while the chair turned out to be a torture for my butt, it DID actually help with my back pain, so I know that I'm onto something with it. Therefore, I have decided to try out a different model of the same brand. This chair was called Aeris Swopper, but there's also a model called Aeris Swopper Air, which is the exact same chair, except with a seat that's a lot softer. I don't know if that has any disadvantages of its own, but some sources specifically recommend this chair to people for whom the regular model is too hard, so I still have some hope that it'll work out for me.

ive really been wanting to get a new chair, because im also at the point where back pain is a Very Real:tm: looming threat. the main issue is that i dont really sit normally to begin with; im always sitting on one of my feet (sometimes both), and i usually have the backside of the chair to my left, and lean on it that way. ive just grown accustomed to it, and because of that im not sure how much i can tolerate sitting on an ergonomic chair
I had the weirdest dream the other day.

I dreamt that I found myself in my own home... Except that most of my belongings were missing. Then I looked outside and saw a massive number of ants strong enough to carry large things straight up out of the house... including my belongings.

Well, if you never hear from me again, then you can guess why. Goodbye laptops, all my game consoles, and all of my phones and handhelds. They've all been stolen by ants. 😂

Well, ants are just legitimately terrifying, not gonna lie. Sure, the smaller ones are mostly harmless, but there's some large ant species that are just nightmare fuel and that I wouldn't even want to see through binoculars.

Yeah, that sounds very familiar. It definitely sounds like "bad chair" problem. I'm in the same boat here. My current chair is just way too big for me, so to compensate, I'm usually leaning on it weirdly, or even lying back a little, which just can't be good for the back. I also thought it would be difficult to get used to something new, but honestly, I found that to not be an issue trying out the Swopper. The missing back rest turned out to not be an issue in the slightest. Had the seat itself been more comfortable, I could have probably sat on the chair the entire day without any major issues.

Talking about that, I still wasn't able to test the softer version of the chair yet. DHL are taking their sweet time, so I wasn't able to return the original Swopper yet. Until that's done, we probably won't be able to order the new chair.

The bullet ant immediately comes to mind.

I find ants cute, I've always been into most insects (not all of them though) since I was a kid.

I don't know what it is about most insects, but I am a bit scared of most. The same goes for spiders (but not scorpions, oddly enough). As an avid hiker, I am pestered by bugs a lot, so that might contribute to my distaste and slight fear of them. One bug around me is one too many. There are some bugs I don't mind though, such as pill bugs.
One of my friends has actually showed me Lucas the Spider, and I must admit-- it's pretty cute. However, annoyingly enough, my arachnophobia still remains. I usually have problems with big spiders or up-close pictures of ones. Lucas the Spider doesn't seem to remedy that, unfortunately.
i tend to leave insects and arachnids alone unless they're bugging me or in my way. sometimes i'll see a spider in the basement just chillin' and i won't kill it (because why bother) or even relocate it (because it's usually when i'm heading to bed). i think there's one that likes to hang out in the sink i usually cover with newspaper to shave, and i'll just lay the newspaper on top without crushing it. i tend towards shooing or relocating if convenient and preferred. otherwise, they're not really bothering me, so i don't see it as worth the effort.

the sole exception is mosquitos. i will go out of my way to kill mosquitos
