KAIZO MAN - I played too much Mega Man recently (v1.001)

Kinda basic platforming tbhfam

wip
Might want to check and see if you can do that third jump by just going really fast you may not need all 3 platforms

It is possible but harder to do.

I will let the platforms, I don't mind having multiple solutions for obstacles with an easier&slower one, especially at the start of the level.
Similarly, at 0:26, you can go under the Mettool to gain a bit of time but it's harder, and at 0:33 you can jump on the Suzy immediately instead of waiting one cycle but you'll have to be fast or the fireballs of the Mettool will get in your way.
Is spin jump disabled?
That last obstacle with Met might demand too much learning IMO, but it's great nonetheless. If you were even more creative with obstacles, it'd be personally one of the best entries of the contest.
I have a Discord server as well! (by joining, you agree to the rules)

Basically, I believe in peace and bashing two bricks together.

Finished second part.

No physics were changed, Mario control the same as in SMW. Only L/R scrolling was disabled.
But indeed in that first part spin jump is useless.

Thanks.
Yeah after more playing I wasn't satisfied with that last obstacle so I changed it.
Ok my level is done. There's things that could be improved maybe. But frankly I have enough, I don't want to work any more on it.
But it was fun to make. Who know if it's considered good kaizo, and how it will be ranked.
When the deadline is over will post the resources I used in this thread. Although most are existing smwc resources edited. Only the levelASM is selfmade (because I didn't liked the existing MegaMan scroll uberasm) and the title screen music (yeah I ported a MIDI just for the title screen which doesn't count for the judging).

Update 1.001 only fix a glitch related to screen scrolling and pause.

Submission period is over. Good luck everyone.
Now I don't expect to place high, this level was mostly made to have fun with ASM and Mega Man aesthetic more than making a kaizo level.
Although very unoptimized, I'm releasing all resources I used in case anyone care about them. Although most of them used an existing resource as a base. If you want to use them:
- Give credits to the original creators, not me
- They are submitted as is. I'm not responsible for any damage these resources could do to your ROM.

I kinda like how I did the screen scrolling ASM, I'm gonna reuse it in other levels.
I can explain more how they work if someone ask.
I think that the music used should be submitted to the site.

Nah. To be exact, most are:
- The Wily castle 1-2 theme is already in the music section with 8bit samples, ported by MegaNerd14
- The other musics except the title screen - the musics of the stage select, boss chosen, Wily castle 3-5, boss battle, victory theme and password screen (there's two version on smwc but the one I used is not hosted anymore) - those are in the site section but unsampled.
To sample them, I used a 8-bit .bnk made by Tornado a long time ago when he ported multiple 8bit musics.
So the reason I won't submit them is because:
- I didn't make them, only changed the instruments used
- The 8bits instruments used are from a .bnk file, which isn't accepted anymore due to being an outdated format. But I don't know, and didn't want to learn how to convert a .bnk into .brr files for a single contest level.

As for the title screen music, since a custom music didn't exist on smwc, I edited and ported a MIDI of it. The reason I won't submit it is simply because it also use that 8bit .bnk, and also I didn't optimize it at all, as long as it inserted I was fine. I means I didn't even use the l command lol.
Plus I feel like the song is not 100% accurate with the instruments and it bother me (but it's good enough for a title screen in a contest).

That's why I submitted my resources in my post above in a mega link.
These resources aren't optimized or different enough to be hosted on smwc, but some people may be interested in them anyway so I made them available.
