The Tilish Styleset: A Tileset Request Thread

GraphicsSuper Mario WorldRequests

Last C3's art thread went so swimmingly that I figure we bring 𝓽𝓱𝓮 𝓷𝓮𝔁𝓽 𝓰𝓮𝓷𝓮𝓻𝓪𝓽𝓲𝓸𝓷 of art requests, having something a little more complicated than just individual characters. This time around, ask for any kind of environment and I'll do my darnedest to make a usable foreground tileset out of it.

A few things:
• I'm not going to accept rips of existing games. All hand-made stuff here, but feel free to offer existing graphics as a reference piece.
• I'll try to be very flexible within reason. Specify some decorative elements, amount of 3D-like depth, what have you.
• The gramphics won't exceed 2 exgfx pages.
• I'll complete what I can even after C3, though this is much more involved than simple character art so I can't guarantee I'll go through nearly as many as last time.
• These will get submitted to the site after C3 ends; no exclusives!
• One request per person.

The outer portion of an oriental themed pagoda tower. So like, Mario would be climbing this tower in a vertical level, or hopping and jumping between towers in a horizontal level. As for decorations, lamps and windows are about all thats truly needed.

we could use a solid cloud tileset.

I'm curious to see if you are capable of doing a library tileset filled with books and other tomes.

Hey, nice to see this again! I won't request anything, but I will wish you good luck. #smrpg{<3}
Just so you know, I'm very active on the site anymore like I was before; I'm mainly on Discord now.
Hey there. A factory-dimension tileset might be good.

Very cool of you to do these!

Perhaps more for the community's sake than for my own, I think we could use a solid cloud tileset. (well actually not solid but fluffy, but you know what i mean.) Most of the cloud foregrounds I've seen in the Graphics section are fine but somewhat flat, and I know you have an eye for smooth and 3d-looking things.

This is not high priority by any means! It's really mostly a suggestion rather than a request, so feel free to drop it if you're flooded with more.

Computer Room tileset, please...
How about a stranded spaceship tileset? In a vibe similar of Super Metroid? With tons of mechanical stuff, air ventilation, pipes and even some natural hazards like some rocks protuding the ship? Would be very neat, since we don't have a lot of these graphics in the section.

A beach tileset would be very good...
Kirbo was here
Can you drawn a Lively green Grove?
Like a Peaceful Forest with sunshines crossing through Trees.
You can take a inspiration from This Rip.
An army-themed tileset perhaps?

Basically airships, boats, and tanks but non-wood and more metallic.

Have a frost day~
How about a european empire set with a background to go along with it
We always see beach themed tilesets, but where are the water park themed ones? Full of concrete slabs, fading paint, slides, slippery-when-wet signs, lockers, umbrellas, and the like. I think that'd be a great setting for Mario platforming shenanigans!

Also, this is a pretty bold undertaking, considering how many requests you'll likely receive. Good luck with it!
I agree with WhiteYoshiEgg. For as simple as cloud/sky tilesets sound in theory, there are hardly any good ones.

Other than that...perhaps a pyramid or beehive set?

I'm working on a hack! Check it out here. Progress: 64/95 levels.
no suggestions here, but excited to see what you come up with!

Modern Redrawn Mario Bros. 1.5 (last update - February 14, 2023, some new bonus frames, tons of minor touchups to various poses)

On Pixel Art Requests: Depends on what it is and if I have the time for it. If its complex and I don't have the time, don't expect me to accept it.

Is that for real!!! Oh, I may not miss this opportunity.

I've been searching a lot lately, but I cannot seem to find suitable village foregrounds. What I am aiming for is something that looks like your typical western movie's village, with small cottages, food storage items, why not horse-related stuff, etc. And if possible some trees and signs. As matter of fact I don't find too much use to just a house in platformers, so maybe you can add some fences, ladders, boulders and the like.

Usually what I found in SMWC's database were brick house or "city" tilesets.
I'd love to see some kind of temple ruins set. Broken platforms, vines growing on stuff, etc.
An open savanah tileset, one with colors like the one in world 3 seen on DKC Tropical freeze or the lyon king for snes.
With some flowers or tree braches acting as platforms and decorations too.
Check out my profile to see a list of SMW Hacks I made and where to find the latest and best version of them.
Thanks for playing and have fun!

A classical Grass Tileset with flowers and trees (Preferably animated) as well as hills with eyes, grass clumps (Preferably animated, 3D depth),bushes(Preferably animated 3D depth), powerups in the ground, some form of wildlife (ie Butterflies, decorational fish, birds.) and colorful pipes.
Can come in either summer or spring look.
If you get the space, you can also do brownish platforms and bridges, as well as animated water tiles. Cartoony clouds and vines, rocks and dry ground would be nice to add too.

Good luck with your other requests! #smrpg{y}

Lots of love, S1Z2 #w{<3}
