Kind of disappointed to have ranked as low as 39th, but to be fair I did make this whole thing in a week. I guess there's always next year.
This also makes two VLDCs out of two where none of the judges has found the bonus room! I had to make it more obvious but looks like it still didn't work lmao
Merry Christmas everyone! Happy Holidays! As my gift to everyone, I bring the results for VLDC12! It's been a long few months, (and an even longer year...) but it was nice to have that familiar feel of VLDC to anchor us through these tough times. So, how did you score? Read on and find out!
As I like to do with every contest I host, let's take a moment before we get to the full results to thank our judges for their time spent and contributions to the contest. FPzero, Atari2.0, Sixcorby, and Sinc-X will each receive VLDC Judge trophies to commemorate their involvement. Additionally, I would like to thank Medic and Teyla for originally helping judge, even though they both had to drop out partway through.
And now, what you've all been waiting for.

The full contest results are available by clicking the huge link below. This will take you to our judging spreadsheet, where you can view complete placement details, as well as what score each individual judge gave each level. The number in the rightmost column is the internal number for your level that we used to identify entries during anonymous judging. You can use it to find your level in our scoring documents. A green cell in each judge's scoring colum signals their favorite level. There is no prize for being a judge's favorite, other than bragging rights!
Unfortunately, there were seven disqualifications. They're all located at the bottom of the spreadsheet against a black background. Click the following Collapse tag to see the disqualified levels and the reasons they were not scored.
Click Here for the whole VLDC12 Level Scoring Spreadsheet!
Additionally, here are links to each judge's individual level scorings. These will have detailed score breakdowns by category as well as comments, feedback and reasonings for why each level was scored the way it was. I highly recommend reading them!

Thanks once again to all the judges, and to everyone who participated this year. I hope you all had a fun time making levels! And as we approach the end of this...turbulent year, I truly wish everyone the best. This site turns 15 years old soon, and we're still hanging in there. It's always a joy to host these contests, so look forward to more of them in 2021. I know I will.
Until next contest, Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone!
