Games You Don't Like, But Everyone Else Does

don't judge me i Like 3d land

Personally, I don't like Old School RuneScape. I really, really don't see the appeal. The ugly graphics from the old days make me want to vomit, and I really don't see the appeal in staying the same game as it was in 2007 with very little changes. Do people hate change that much or something?
Just so you know, I'm very active on the site anymore like I was before; I'm mainly on Discord now.
While I find the concept of the game cute not too fond of Animal Crossing. It seems abit overrated for the hype, while I do see why people enjoy the aesthetic of the game I personally feel like I would get bored of it after awhile then there is the bashing of people having a certain dislike for a certain villager which can get out of hand. Overall the game itself is cute but the hype I think is over the top as the best game.

Honestly to me It just looks plain boring. Like it's like literally a game based entirely around doing chores! How is that interesting or fun! I mean I think there's also fishing? But yeah... Really uninteresting to me...

It's the gameplay I think, RS3 changes stuff too much I believe. It's kind of like why people still play FFXI when FFXIV:ARR is there. As for the graphics, eh. I guess they can be charming. A lot of early WRPGs and Western PC games just tend to be jank in terms of models, see Bethesda's offerings, the OG Unreal (yes, that's a real ingame screenshot). Of course, there are a lot of WRPGs that look great, too.

Bf likes to say I don't like anything. I admit I can be annoyingly persistent and opinionated at times >->; lol but when it comes to popular media I don't really care for I can be kinda vocal about it.

As far as games are concerned, I've been publicly shamed for not liking games like Mario Galaxy and Final Fantasy VII. I tried playing through them but I just cannot get behind them and I really just don't know why. I've been accused of not liking them simply because everyone else does like them, eeeeh I don't think that's the case, even subconsciously. I guess I just don't enjoy the gameplay style or the flow of them and their story.
I think a post layout goes here somewhere...

Arguably TNT: Evilution, even though that game (technically a paid game mod) was extremely polarizing in the DOOM community to the point of being Zelda 2 levels polarizing. I'm a bit of a DOOM nut and Evilution absolutely disappointed me, tons of enemy spam everywhere, but the OST is pretty cool.

Super Mario World is highly overrated tbh, lots of the design is very flat.

Crysis 3 is pretty average as far as FPS games from 2013 go. Only thing that game had going for it was the amazing graphics. Crysis 2 was similarly linear but did it way better despite being somewhat generic.

I tried getting into Ys, but did not enjoy it that much considering I'm not that much into JRPG's.

NFS Underground 1 and 2 are very jank but people still say they're some of the best NFS games, I'd rather play NFS Most Wanted 2005 (even though that's a huge grindfest) or Hot Pursuit 2010.
If you're on Firefox 70+, and you don't see the blur effect, go to about:config and enable layout.css.backdrop-filter.enabled and gfx.webrender.all
For the best aesthetics, use Chrome, or with some settings, Firefox.

Colour scheme based on the awesome ViM theme, Gruvbox.
It seems to me, that everyone loves the Smash Brothers games.
I just don't get why...
Hitting each other with characters from different franchises isn't just that appealing (to me).
Honestly, for so long, I could never think of anything to talk about on this thread. If there's a game I'm not interested in, I'll generally not play it. It's hard to think of games I've legitimately played enough to form an opinion on and really didn't like it.

But I guess I'll just give an "honorable mention" to FPS games as a whole, I haven't played many, but I'm just not into the type of gameplay.

Another one could be 3D platformers, especially of the collectathon type. I just don't really feel as engaged to play these games as much as 2D platformers, I prefer the more precise gameplay and dynamic level design of 2D games. The stuff I tend to be into doesn't really work in 3D due to depth perception, less precision and so on.
I can still have fun playing a 3D platformer, but overall, I'm not a fan, and I'd rather play a 3D game that has platforming as secondary or tertiary thing. (Like a Zelda game or whatever)

I'll probably update this list once I play more games that outside of my comfort zone, I guess.

I don't really care about Smash Brothers, but it's just because I lost interest in the series. Never played any of the new games, the hype around it is overwhelming and makes me tired of hearing about it, the fanbase is obnoxious and in general, there's nothing really there to pull my interest. All of that combined makes me really not be able to say I "like" these games anymore, even if I don't actually dislike them per say.

Pokemon X is way too easy, and holds your hand for most of the game. I love the fair challenge of FireRed much more.

THIS!

Pokemon X and Y take until like...the 7th Gym...to provide people with a full team of Pokemon. It's insane!
I fucking literally hate everything about Overwatch. It is designed so you can't 1v6 and feel like you effectively outskilled the entire team single-handedly. Classes are outright designed to cancel your playstyle out.

This. Pokemon-Amie (as well as Super Training) also made it so that if you got your Pokemon to max affection, they'd turn the rest of the game into a complete joke.

At least the Pokemon designs are cool, as well as some of the music. But gameplay-wise, it's just...too easy and boring. The story isn't as great as the Black and White (referring to BW1) was, either.

Mario Kart DS

The only thing I like about this one is the Mission Run mode, and how easy it was to get going with the multiplayer modes compared to previous titles in the series.

Everything else was inferior to its predecessors in pretty much every way... particularly the AI, which are pathetically easy to beat due to the broken physics (caused mostly by how rushed the development cycle of the game actually was). The design of the game is all over the place too - if you look at several tracks in the game you'll notice they're literally Double Dash tracks with maybe a single turn or two changed. The most blatant example is DK Pass in my opinion:

DK Mountain from MKDD
Donkey_Course (Test/POC) from MKDS Proto
DK Pass from MKDS

Anyways, a couple of other honourable mentions, one of which has a very personal reason behind why I can't stand it:

- Touhou: The community is toxic. I don't think I've met a Touhou fan I genuinely got on with as pretty much all of them seem to be of the same disposition: part of a Twitter/Discord elite that pushes out anyone with a different opinion to them (which seems to cross over well with the 'modern Nintendo modding' communities and '2000s computer aesthetics' communities, pretty much every person in any of those seems to always know someone who is prominent in the other.)

Let's just say I've been booted universally from all those Touhou and Computer Aesthetic communities back in 2017 with no chance of return, for some pathetic drama surrounding a bunch of ex-friends who were nice to my face, then spat behind my back while glorifying sexual behaviour on their Twitter profiles. Things that happened after that I did mainly due to my own habit of self-defeating behaviour didn't help either in this regard, everyone hates me now though lol.

One rule for one, one for another, heh?

- Smash Bros: Can't stand the game, can't stand the hype around it, can't stand seeing it plastered in my face when I don't want to see it. I only ever played Brawl non-seriously and never cared about it much.

I don't really see it, to be honest. Aside from roughly being 8-shaped, these tracks don't really have anything in common at all? 🤔
Feel free to visit my website/blog - it's updated rarely, but it looks pretty cool!
people will hate me for saying that but I don't like undertale I don't know why I don't like undertale but I like deltarune but here's my post
Friday. Night. Funkin.
Can't stand it.

(some games I hate, I only hate because they're popular. Among Us and Minecraft are the exceptions.)
I would have to say Among Us. After playing a few matches, I got kind of bored of it.
