Weird teleport death in C5?

So, I'm currently building my first kaizo hack, and when setting up C5 for the display message, when I die on screen due to the troll start, it warps me to 1C5. Anyone ever seen this or know how to prevent it?
This seems to be an issue with the retry patch combined with the newest version of Lunar Magic. Either just make a copy of C5 onto level 1C5 or don't let the player die in the intro. (yeah I know haha it's kaizo you're suppose to die but it's an overused trope and not that funny)
I don't know if this has been reported to the authors of the patch but this isn't really a Lunar Magic issue so I wouldn't bother bringing it up to Fusoya.
This could be a side effect of the Message Display Hack i.e. sprite 19 originally set Mario's submap which would keep the intro to level C5 instead of level 1C5 (the reason is that the leftmost digit of the level number used to and kind of still is dependent on the overworld number) and couldn't be really used in levels.
Lunar Magic automatically applies this hack to the ROM so you don't need to take care of it... unless you die. Fortunatelly, you can disable this behaviour with Shift+F8 so the intro level is either level C5 or 1C5 depending on whether Mario is on the main or in any of the submaps (this is the old behaviour of that hack, btw).
Interesting. I made level 1C5 a direct mirror of C5 which was an alright work around. I’ll try the shift f8 method as well and see if that works as well. Thanks for the responses!
