You can just patch it on an original US ROM of Super Mario World (Unheadered only)
Note: Don't forget to rename the patch and the package "Super Mario World - Return to Dinosaur Land" instead "smwrdl_msu1"- Current game playing: Final Fantasy VII Rebirth (PS5)
- Last game completed: The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (GC)
I'm not sure what this post means. Are you saying that you combined both hacks into a single SMW rom, All-Stars style?
No. In first, I used a SMW hack patch (Like this Brutal Mario) on an original US rom of Super Mario World and in second, I used the MSU-1 patch of Super Mario World on the romhack.- Current game playing: Final Fantasy VII Rebirth (PS5)
- Last game completed: The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (GC)
Hey Brutalpode89! I'm not really a fan of MSU-1 really, but I can see the hype behind it and I think it's neat to see some old hacks revamped like that. Nice job!
Thanks Darolac.
And before to say that Brutal Mario and Super Mario World: Return to Dinosaur Land works in MSU-1, I played these in MSU-1 from start to finish.
There's some bugs in Brutal Mario but it's the same thing in the version without MSU-1. I did the same thing for Super Metroid Phazon and Mario Kart R.- Current game playing: Final Fantasy VII Rebirth (PS5)
- Last game completed: The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (GC)
This is quite interesting, although I find it a little bit confusing. I'm not exactly the most knowledgeable when it comes to MSU-1, (or really anything that isn't related to level design haha) but good job, Brutapode89!
Note, these patches have to be applied to an unheadered ROM for a correct result.
Wich Emulator Would we Need that it Work Correctly
Snes9x (Latest version only) or bsnes.- Current game playing: Final Fantasy VII Rebirth (PS5)
- Last game completed: The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (GC)
Or no. You can use Snes9x v1.60 of the site to play in MSU-1. Sorry.- Current game playing: Final Fantasy VII Rebirth (PS5)
- Last game completed: The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (GC)
I have a question, what's the name of the song when you fight a boss (like the Big Boo or the koopalings) on the MSU-1 version of Brutal Mario World?
So, what this is is a soundtrack revamp of those two hacks if I understand correctly?
I've never been too hyped about MSU-1 in SMW hacking to be perfectly honest, as I believe the SNES's music engine's limitations already fit well the graphic limits (and RtDL of all hacks is definitely very SNES-constrained visually, lol), but this is an interesting project regardless. It's easily the best thing I've done
So why the empty numb?
