EDIT: Fixed Launch Base Zone Act 1 and Blue Spheres (thank you, brickblock369!)
UPDATE: There's an TWO additional ports now!

hi

I've been porting a lot of things over the past 6 months, and I'm glad to show off and/or dump 27 28 29 + 1 ports of the lightly-sampled and unsampled variety. There's a lot of Sonic music in there since I've been on a Sonic kick lately, but there's some other miscellaneous things as well! Of note is the entirety of the Sonic CD past songs.

Here's the list of New™ ports:
Sonic Robo Blast 2 - Arid Canyon Zone Act 1
Sonic Robo Blast 2 - Meadow Match Zone
Sonic Robo Blast 2 - Invincibility
Sonic 3 & Knuckles - Angel Island Zone Act 2
Sonic 3 & Knuckles - Hydrocity Zone Act 2
Sonic 3 & Knuckles - Launch Base Zone Act 1
Sonic 3 & Knuckles - Sky Sanctuary Zone
Sonic 3 & Knuckles - Special Stage (Blue Spheres)
Sonic the Hedgehog - Green Hill Zone
Sonic the Hedgehog - Marble Zone
Sonic the Hedgehog - Scrap Brain Zone
Sonic the Hedgehog - Special Stage
Sonic Triple Trouble - Sunset Park Zone Act 3
Sonic CD - Palmtree Panic Zone (Past)
Sonic CD - Collision Chaos Zone (Past)
Sonic CD - Tidal Tempest Zone (Past)
Sonic CD - Quartz Quadrant Zone (Past)
Sonic CD - Wacky Workbench Zone (Past)
Sonic CD - Stardust Speedway Zone (Past)
Sonic CD - Metallic Madness Zone (Past)
Sonic CD (JP/EU) - Zone Clear
Super Mario 64 - Dire, Dire Docks
Shuusou Gyoku - False Strawberry
Touhou Kikeijuu ~ Wily Beast and Weakest Creature - Beast Metropolis
Barbie: Super Model - Rollerskating at the Beach
Journey to Silius - Stage 3
Twinkle Star Sprites - Love Me (Sky Stage 1)

Mega Man Zero 4 - Esperanto
Sonic 3D Blast (Genesis/Mega Drive) - Rusty Ruin Zone Act 2

Additionally, I also updated one of my old ports in order to make it sound less crappy. I feel like the port still shows its age a bit, but the instrumentation and less-crappy-SFX-cutoff help alleviate it.
Touhou Fuujinroku ~ Mountain of Faith - Because Princess Inada is Scolding Me

Now for some General Commentary, if you like. I feel like there's somewhat of a shift in quality as I got more comfortable using SMW samples to mirror FM synthesis. Also, I'm fairly certain I tested all of these in-game, but if I didn't then oops, feel free to yell at me. Likewise if I forgot samples or uploaded a stats .txt. I'm also very indecisive when it comes to mixing (plus my earphones are kind of crappy), so there might be slight tweaks made to the ports by the time they're submitted. I also may have had too much fun with pitch modulation.

As for Specific Commentary:
-The Sonic CD ports almost exclusively use SMW samples, even as the base for the chorded samples; the only exceptions are the iconic HUEHUE from Stardust Speedway, and some of the oddball percussion in Collision Chaos. That means, the record scratches in Stardust Speedway are unsampled! They use pitch modulation and were a huge pain to get right.
-Marble Zone has customization options for vibrato and the lead octave. I couldn't decide which vibrato sounded better, so I kept both. There's also an option to boost the lead by an octave, since I accidentally defined the wrong octave when starting the port and thought it didn't sound too bad. I suppose you could consider VIB 1 / OCT 0 (original lead octave with fast vibrato) the "default".
-The SRB2 Invincibility port has four different versions: you can choose if you want it to loop or not, and there's a global-compatible version as well.
-The Sonic CD Zone Clear port has three varieties: one with the goal whistle and one without, and one where it sort of kicks in as the song is playing.
-I started the Blue Spheres port at 3:00 in the morning today lol.

Finally, I do want to give a big shoutout to Nameless, who always gives feedback on the billion WIP SPCs I send her. She also ported things for C3!

Listen to them here! (using the site's SPC player, no download required)
(and listen to Esperanto here, and to Rusty Ruin Zone Act 2 here)

now time for me to go eat breakfast

all of these ports are fantastic! i'm glad we got to suffer together through all these ports 😳

by the way, my favorite is scrap brain zone.

and i'm proud of you for embracing the blue blur, my child. now give final fantasy that kind of love when you're done
Sky Sanctuary sounds a bit different, but good.

no

Jokes aside I'm not super familiar with a lot of Final Fantasy music so :pensive:. From what I hear about you and other people cramming a billion channels into 8 though, I'll have to pass even though i did that for like two of these ports but lol

Thank you!

hhhhholy crap!! I'mma check these out later but this is alot of stuff you put out!
That's a lot of ports! #wario{O_O}

Despite barely scratching the surface of these, I can still say that they sound really nice. Somehow I can always tell that they were made by you, they've just got a certain bebn legg charm to them. And even though you said that you started the Blue Spheres port at 3am, I wouldn't even notice if you never told me.

I'll be sure to give the rest of these a listen when I can! (Maybe even use one of the ports for a ROM hack...)
What is a Lunar Magic, and can I eat it?
WHAT THE HELL BEBN
for real its not everyday you see so many ports coming out at once LMAO

Although it'll last me a LONG while to listen to all of them, I really really like what I've already listened! i can definitely see the effort you put into this damn
where are the hey okay i read "super" and "sonic" and there are no thesuper sonic theme????????????????? nice ports doe :flushed:

Benny Harvey RIP, miss you big man.

These ports are very good, though the Sonic CD zone clear theme sounds different to me. I even wanted to port it, but all MIDIs I found were from the US version.

morE TOUHOU MUSIC YES. This is what will save super mario world from its inevitable demise at my hands.

Thanks you these are all so good

came here for 2hu because that's the only one I know

Man, I'm still shocked. I mean, when I first heard your EoSD while it was still waiting under moderation, I was really amazed at how close it was to the original despite only having zero to few samples used. Then I've thought "hmm, what if someone made a port from WBaWC, maybe I should request one (lowkey hoping it'd be Beast Metropolis or Electric Heritage)", and I was surprised you were actually doing a port of Beast Metropolis!

I've already said this but I would like to say it again: it's pretty, and impressive that you kept it almost unsampled and still sound close when compared to the original. Goob job, really!

Wow! That's a lot of Sonic ports and I love it. You nailed it with these unsampled ports. My favorite one is the Hidrocity Zone Act 2. #smrpg{:3}

The Pitch Modulation work here is fantastic! I could only listen to half of the ports because of time, but they're all very good! I'm looking forward to the rest later today. #tb{:p}
I listed to small bits of most of them, that Barbie one tho. why on earth and how did you did you find that song.

I really like the Dire Dire Docks one that's my favourite. That really sounds so much like the original especially since (knowing you I presume) it's unsampled!

idk how you get the motivation to pump out 28 ports but good work ethic and all

Oh yes! I agree here! Scrap Brain Zone is already a good track, and this port is just lovely.

Wonderful work on all of the ports nonetheless! The music folks around here as talented as ever it seems. <3

A snare drum like @29 (with zero attack value) should play alongside the "Go!" voice sample in Launch Base Zone. I'm not hearing it. This also kinda evidences it.
Also, that voice sample gets a bit off-time around 0:18~0:19, by about a half beat.

Shouldn't there be a @22 constantly playing 32nd notes in Blue Spheres? I'm not hearing that. That helps keep the beat, and that's what I hear from the game too.

Nice use of pitch bending to really imitate the brasses in Green Hill Zone #tb{:D}

I actually do want to port Electric Heritage as well. 👀 I'm not sure when I'll do it though because it'll be a tough one due to its billion chords.

procrastinating from school is a great motivator

You're absolutely right. Nameless pointed it out a while back (like months ago) but I never got around to fixing it, probably because I was lazy. I'll get on it soon enough!

Thank you for the kind words, everyone!

bebn you never cease to amaze me with your porting abilities. I haven't listened to all of these yet but so far they're sounding incredible, looking forward to seeing you submit these!
The Sonic ports are amazing! #smw{:TUP:}
Oooh Yeaaah, it's amazing you are doing better and better
