It's been a while since the last time i made a C3 thread, in fact, the last time i participated in a C3 event was exactly one year ago when i initially released New Super Mario World 2: Around the World.
But if we go back in time a little more, about four years ago, i released my first full hack, called New Super Mario World 1: The Twelve Magic Orbs, and that hack somehow became a massive success, to the point where it is the 2nd most donwloaded hack in the hacks section (not taking into account the three hacks with botted downloads) and people still remember it to this day.
After releasing two very big hacks, i was almost retired of SMW hacking, not only because i wasn't motivated to start a third hack (specially after the issues i had with NSMW2 on it's release) but also because of real life stuff as this year is my last school year which means that i had to give more focus for my studies and my future rather than giving focus to a large project like those two hacks were.
However, once the quarantine started, things haven't gone very well and i was getting really bored so i thought about returning a bit to SMW Hacking and then i had an idea. Rather than starting a brand new hack, i decided to look back at the first one and noticed that it had a lot of issues, and with that, i started a new project that isn't going to give much work to me to the point of affecting my personal life, and that project is:
Yeah, looking back, NSMW has a lot of issues such as the level design which lacked any sort of consistency in terms of difficulty, like spamming projectile throwing enemies like Pitchin' Chucks right in the first level for example, as well as gimmicks that didn't work well like the falling blocks in 7-C or the evil Munchers in 8-2. And the purpose of this hack is to not only improve the level design in general but also give more replay value, and make the hack more polished as it was poorly tested and rushed for 2016's summer C3.
