Sicari 2 - The Brink of Time TRAILER + New level video

Super Mario WorldVideo/Trailer

Well, it's been in development for quite a while now, and I think it's due time for a proper trailer! So here it is, the first trailer for Sicari 2 - The Brink of Time!

Development is coming along slowly but surely. If you haven't already, there's a demo I released back in September, which you can access here!

If I have time, I'd also like to add another video of a level, The Beach Girls which is nearing its completion, so if all goes well, I'll update my thread at some point with that.

Other than that, hopefully you enjoyed the trailer! Lemme know what ya think!

BONUS POST

Level showcase: The Beach Girls
Good to see this project is still around! It really is shaping up to be its own unique thing. The trailer was well-edited and I liked how you actually used music that (I assume) is in the actual game rather than some other music. I think it wouldn't fit otherwise.

Looking forward to more on the project! :)

Slow & Steady wins the race.

Glad to progress is still chugging along even at a slow pace.
With each update we see the hack slowly and slowly get away from its SMW roots to which if you had no knowledge of the hack prior to seeing this trailer you'd think it was some type of SNES Homebrew.
Levels all look visually distinct which really adds to the fun factor of going and exploring new places with new challenges.

As always I look forward to seeing more be it a big or small update. #smrpg{y}
Lookin cool there!
Hopefully you can narrow the release window to within a decade?
Please pardon the eye.
Great work there, Eevee!
This is looking really impressive! Not only do the levels look fun to play (I remember seeing a video of the cave level in full and it's really well-designed), you're also putting a lot of work into the visuals and it's paying off. It's always environments, never just backgrounds. I love the Western setting, and the one where you can see the castle in the distance.

The only bone I have to pick is that for something so decidedly non-mario, things that are pretty obviously coins and question blocks are a little jarring. All comes down to preference though, it's probably just my one weird view. #ab{^^;;;}

Great work on this! Hope you can get it finished this century.

I was entranced by the level of polish and Sicari's unique abilities then a brutally honest "coming this century" ripped me out of the dream and I was left with only my laughter. I played the first Sicari (not the remaster) and remember thoroughly loving it, that I'm not sure I want to spoil myself with the existing demo. Some would call this chocolate; I'd call it a Friendly's Crowd Pleaser. I want to get the most out of it.

You draw all the graphics yourself, right? I think how it all looks is detailed and brilliantly colored but the middle eastern-style and castle top graphics are exceptionally gorgeous, I like the variety of desert themes present (it's really one of the most underrated and underexplored in what you can do with it) and that wall of fire much more menacing than other ways I've seen it been tried. It looks intense.

Your dedication to your work is admirable.

Just look above you...
If it's something that can be stopped, then just try to stop it!
I'm really amazed. I'm looking forward.
Now that I've started working, I won't be able to be as active as before. This is really very sad and depressing for me.

WORK IN PROGRESS
▬ good old days 4 (10/? level(s) completed)
▬ dumb 2 - strange levels in my notepad (22/62 level(s) completed)

More Sicari progress! Whoop! \o/

Trailer looks great and snazzy as always. I wish I had skills to create something beautiful and pretty like this, and the dedication you have to keep at it. Please pass some of that onto me, thanks.

I will await the 31st of December, 2099 23:59 for the release.
That's some mindblowing visuals. Excellent job with this hack. #smrpg{:3}

Thanks for the kind comments, it's much appreciated :D

Yea, I draw all my own stuff. Glad you like the theme of that level! All of the "castles" are based around time travel.

Yep, it's used in game. Credits for this song go to Pinci, who was kind enough to compose it for the hack!
This is barely SMW anymore! This seriously looks great, was that intro part with the text actually in the game?!

Super Kekcroc World 4 (lol jk)

Well, the text itself is from the game ^^ though the footage in the background are clips from two of my previous hacks, edited in, just as a lil recap!
Wow looks like shit and everyone who has contributed anything to this hack should feel ashamed.

But no, I've been following this for a while and it's shaping up to be really cool! Looking forward to the full release eventually.

Indeed... it could be better.

Jk, this is looking great so far, keep up the good job Eevee #smw{:TUP:}
Absolutely fantastic work as usual! This hack has some serious talent going into it, and it's great to see everything coming along so nicely!

It's kind of a shame that some new levels end up being blurred at the very end of the trailer, when the junkyard and clock tower are both very nice areas in their own right

Other Submissions of mine!

Back off K3ffy...

You already know how gorgeous this hack is from my comments a few months back, so I don't need to repeat everything. Excellent work as usual, lovely one!
Windowless ride, feeling alive
Are you alive or just breathing?

Sicari Project Kickstarter when? lol.
Really, your game is impressive even for a simple smw hack. The trailer was edited in such a way that it possibly reflects the quality of the final product.
I can't wait to play the full version. Keep it up!

Oh yeah, I owe you a K-16 fan art, right?
