Mega Man's E🅱ic Adventure! (Easter Update)

Yoshiatom's Post
Are you tried of twiddling your thumbs while waiting for the next big Mega Man Fangame? Well wait no more, because here comes Mega Man's E🅱ic Adventure!

- Four Brand New Robot Masters! They're like nothing you've ever seen before nor any you'll ever see again.

- Five Eye-Popping FMVs! This means this game is mathematically better than Sonic CD but worse than Hotel Mario.

- 16:9 Widescreen Gameplay! Makes Mega Man 11 look like Mega Man Powered Up.

- Powered by Unreal Engine! That's right, the game uses a modern, professional engine instead of Gamemaker. Was that so hard Y+1 devteam?

Download it here!

Controls:
Z / Gamepad A: Jump
X / Gamepad X: Shoot
Enter / Gamepad Start: Pause
Alt+Enter: Switch between windowed and fullscreen
Esc: Quit

In case it wasn't obvious already, happy April Fools Day!

> Made in Unreal Engine 4
> Doesn't have customizable controls

Oh, I see, that's why this is an April Fool's joke!

Honestly, though. A suspicious download linke that looks like it could be a virus? Using an overpowered, demanding game engine for a simple 8-Bit NES-style game? Letting me download over 200 MB of FMVs with shitty N64-quality graphics? Having Horrible physics and no invincibility frames? Insulting me when I die? Forcing me to use the mouse in menus? Blowing shit up left and right?

HECK, YEAH, I am surprisingly on board with this! :P

So far, I have defeated only
Man
, and man, that level sucked, haha! Can't wait to play the other levels, but I have to take it slowly, because I still have work to do. This is my kind of game. Might report back once I'm done!

gg

EDIT:
Alright, I've played some more levels, and WOW, I gotta hand it to you, you've made quite the accomplishment here: these levels stink even more than the first! I mean in one of these levels, it literally takes about two seconds for the monkey texture to stream in. Two seconds!!! Do you even know what it feels like to have to wait two seconds for the monkey texture to stream in? That's two entire seconds in which you can't see the monkey texture at its highest quality! Dying couldn't be more painful than that.

I've made it to the (first?) Wily stage, but then constantly seeing the Dark Souls Game Over screen reminded me of a torture I'd much rather submit myself to right now, so I gave up.

But, if there's one thing I have to praise the game for: if you have a "friend" you really, really want to see suffer, this game is the perfect torture device for that.

...

How quickly exactly can you shit these out? I have about three or four "friends" I want to "entertain". Do you take credit card? I can pay in advance! Would $10.000 be enough? Probably not, but I went ahead and transferred them anyways, consider it a down payment. You're now hired!

So in other words, best game ever, literally perfect, 5 out of 7, would delete again. This game might not defeat the Coronavirus, but at the very least it... uh... exists! Yeah, that's the word I was looking for! Good job! :)
Feel free to visit my website/blog - it's updated rarely, but it looks pretty cool!
Yoshiatom's Post
April Fools has been and gone now but I wanted to make a couple updates to the game to fix things that bugged me. That and I didn't want to wait a whole year to do it. Let's just say it's an Easter update.

Differences from the original version:

- Massively reduced the game's filesize. It's still bigger than it should be but it's a lot better than what it was originally.

- Added a pause menu. This also allows you to return to the stage select early when playing a robot master stage.

- The tiles in Spark Man's stage should no longer be super pixelated at first.

- You can now press start to skip cutscenes, but why would you want to skip the best part of the game?

- Some very minor adjustments to the levels. Do be warned; the fortress is still pretty miserable.

- A batch file has been added that runs the game on a lower-end renderer. If the ggame is running poorly or not at all, try using that.

The download link is the same as the one in the original post. Hopefully this won't be the last time I do stuff with UE4 as I do want to make a game that's either more original or less shitposty in the future.
