Does SMWC no longer support Internet Explorer 11?

Internet Explorer 11 is the latest version of IE. I get a warning at here. This one: Warning! You are using an outdated browser. Some website features may malfunction and in the future, SMW Central may no longer work correctly. Consider upgrading your browser for a better online experience and improved security.

So everyone doesn't like IE11 anymore as a result.
I mean, it's not really the fault of SMWC. Internet Explorer by now is a really old and outdated browser. Yes, it does technically get new versions still, but I think that doesn't change the fact that it's not a very standard-compliant browser and that the web standard keeps developing further and further. Supporting and maintaining outdated technology is not only difficult and time-consuming, but at a point even outright impossible. SMWC deciding not to do that is not really their fault; rather it's the fault of Internet Explorer for being so outdated in the first place.
Feel free to visit my website/blog - it's updated rarely, but it looks pretty cool!
SMW Central only supports the latest versions of Firefox, Chrome, and iOS Safari*. Other browsers may work, but they are not tested and issues in them will not be fixed.

The message you see is not shown based on the browser you're using, but on the features it supports. It indicates that SMW Central will very likely malfunction in your browser at some point. Though it may be the latest version of Internet Explorer, IE11 is about 7 years old. We do not have the resources to support such old software.

* "Chrome" also includes all browsers based on the latest version of Chromium, such as Vivaldi. iOS Safari is not actively tested, but I do my best to fix issues in it.
For a developer (speaking from experience!!!), IE11 is a nightmare to work with. I know that some people like Internet Explorer, but even Microsoft has abandoned it at this point, calling it a "compatibility solution for business", rather than a web browser.

It's safe to say you should be using Microsoft Edge (which is now based on Chromium and supports Windows 7, 8 and 10) or another browser. Your local web developers will thank you for it.

and here's the proof directly from Microsoft about the "perils" of using IE as the default browser in their MS Tech Community blog, which was written nearly a year ago:

I understand IE is outdated and dangerous to use. I'm pretty surprised other countries don't use IE as default browser. There is a reason why I use this old and dangerous browser. I live in Seoul, Korea. In my country, there are many sites (even government website) that do not support Chrome and Firefox yet because of ActiveX. ActiveX technology is still needed in online banking. Non-activeX technology is also being developed. In conclusion, many Koreans will use Chrome and IE together.

maybe in your region, scratch.

I'm in the USA and most online banking US sites work with most recent Firefox and Chrome browsers.

unrelated note - it looks like the K-meleon web browser also displays "you're using an outdated browser" message as well as I tested this myself

I'll say this again - the site doesn't check which browser you're using, it checks which features of the web platform it supports. If the message shows up, it's because parts of the site could malfunction, not because you're not using a particular browser.
