What do you think of numbers in usernames?

I used to think they were cool, now I think they're dull.
I dislike them strongly. No numbers in any of my accounts, 'cept for Steam but that one is old and I don't use it.
It's easily the best thing I've done
So why the empty numb?
I'm pretty sure i never used any numbers in my usernames. I used my last name twice though.

(Can we take a second to appreciate that this was Aja's 6666 post?)

Honestly, I also do think that numbers in usernames are mostly outdated thing. But I do think that numbers in usernames can be good if they are implemented properly. For example, 'lx5' would be a username that implements numbers well since it flows properly when you say it out loud. To illustrate, the written punctuation of 'lx5' would be 'ĕl · ex · five'. 'westslasher2' is also an example of a good username with numbers since the pronunciation here also flows smoothly.
I just realised i actually use numbers on my Twitter and Instagram accounts. Both didn't allow me to use one of my past usernames (Because reasons i guess), so i had to add a number to it.

Still that's technically an exception because it's related to the url rather than the username itself. Most of my usernames (either here, FR, SMBX, Discord, Steam, etc.) do not contain any numbers, again, not counting url/clash issues.

Yeah, i totally agree with this. Some usernames actually pronounce, sound and look better with numbers. That's not the case for everyone though. I'm sure my username would sound weird if i added some random number to it.

Actually, that is pronounced "ele - equis - cinco".
I Think they are ok, but yeah, when you grow up they start to feel unnecessary and pointless (I'm thinking I should do the same and remove my numbers too) But for some usernames they feel a little off with out the numbers ( Like an username that is all numbers, that would be awkard)

Useless fact: The numbers of my nick are spelled individually, not thogether ( Nine Two Three, not Nine Hundred Twenty three, but in spanish)
Made you look. Now Breath Manualy.

I have never liked numbers in names. Never made sense to me. I mean I know why they exist since the internet is hard to use names that are already taken. But really, it is quite simple to do. And sometimes you can just name yourself something simple. Like Super Awesome Bullet Bill. Sure the name doesn't exist, yet. But it is quite simple. Rather than throw numbers at the end, you can just throw random words in front of your name. Like what I used to do. Though it wasn't the most super of names...or memorable.

But hey, some people do different things for usernames. Like all lowercase or upper case. Evil, evil, people that is. Or random case...*shivers*

(Consider this me taking a second to appreciate the fact. Also the fact that the number was part of her old name.

Also the fact that by the time I typed all that, I spent approx. 30 seconds more than a second to type this and am now typing more to describe myself typing me typing this. Very good use of post~! [time to stop])
I mean...

At least the names are not like xX_blahblahblah_Xx, or blahblahblah_YT. I don't find those kinds of usernames to be appealing in anyway. Numbers though, yeah they're fine. Also numbers are infinite and can mean things like birth dates, years, or favorite numbers.
Twitter
for some reason i really hate usernames like that. its... an instinct? my blood instantly boils. especially if the username contains the numbers 5, 2, 9, 0, or 5. wish i knew why
Numbers is usernames can be okay as long as they actually have some reasoning in the name.

For example, the username "7 up" is fine with me because it actually has a meaning. (I don't actually know that meaning, but the username could be used to mean the game or soda.)

However, usernames such as "Gabriel3" I do not like because there is no meaning (or there does not seem to be a meaning) for the number to be there.

I'm not trying to call anyone out when I select usernames, I'm just using them as examples to explain my thinking.

In conclusion, numbers with a purpose in usernames are okay, while numbers without a purpose are not. That is just my opinion.
I don't like them that much anymore. In fact, except for my YouTube account, I avoid typing out random numbers as if they were super cool or something.
Windowless ride, feeling alive
Are you alive or just breathing?
I used to hate having numbers in names.

Now? Eh. I don't cringe every time I see someone named "name694234" anymore.

Although personally, if I wanted to come up with a name for myself, I'd try my absolute hardest to come up with a name without a number first, and save a numbered name as a last resort. And if it means turning lower-case L's into upper-case I's, then so be it.

Those are terrible names. I can't not think the person with that name is immature.

I don't really notice the numbers in a username, to be honest. they just kind of... exist? I don't know about it, generally I just pretend they don't exist.
Hello.
To be honest, I have more of a problem with xX_EdGyNaMe_Xx and GenericName_YT than Name694234. Though I just dont find myself caring enough about it.

Names are just names now. Some are less memorable than others. That's just how it is to me.

STELLA!
My primary username is too short for some websites, so I have to add a placeholder number just to fulfill their requirement, like tcdw1, tcdw11, etc.

In recent years, I start to use something like tcdwww instead.

For other people's username, I am not really mind about that.
I used to think they were cool, and even considered adding my favorite digit combination to my username on some other forum, but grew out of it. I think that's the conclusion everyone comes to eventually. I don't hate seeing them though!

It's just like with names that start with "The" for no reason - once your name is actually used by other people in conversation, those addons become impractical, and you'll want to shorten the name.

(talking about only those names where the number actually feels tacked on.)

Tip:
I guess to explain my main reason for disliking numbers in names is simply this.

When you talk to someone, say, online in a call, the last thing you want to do is go "Hey Bob235563177259, how are you doing?"
It feels so unnatural to say in a conversation. Sure you could just say "Bob" but then again, why not either name that or something else? It almost is like talking to either an artificial person or robot. I guess names like Acmlm are okay, despite the fact you can't pronounce them for the life of you with the lack of actual vowels. And some get very unpronounceable fast.

Some look like they smashed a keyboard:
gnb vc fnb m
gyhtjkmnigbhvnjm
sdfji8

Okay, I tried but it didn't work. But you probably get the point.

Well, I used to have a username finishing with 07... still use it some places. Funny thing is, due to the numbers, some people would think I was born in 2007.
Anyway, I don't really care about them, though when you see someone with 10 numbers in their name, it does start to get ridicolous.
I take more issues with generic "mario" namez, to be honest (like SuperMario12345).
