Guuuuu~♪
Oh man! Is this the last day of C3?! Yikes! Now that I don't have enough time to do some random stuff here. But... I have something that's not Mario-related! (At least, it's fine.) I will now present you...

The Hacking of Puyo Puyo
(and Knuckles)

For a bit of background here: What the heck is Puyo Puyo?
Puyo Puyo is an action puzzle game series created by Compile in 1991. Sega has currently owned this franchise since 1998, along with the games after 2001 being developed by Sonic Team (a.k.a the guys who made the Sonic the Hedgehog series).

Puyo Puyo originated as a spinoff of the classic and dramatic dungeon crawler Madou Monogatari (a.k.a. Sorcery Saga in English-speaking countries), its unique action-puzzle gameplay has both attracted a committed fanbase in Japan and vaulted it into the world of esports (Yep, you read that right! Puyo Puyo eSports actually exists!).

There so MANY Puyo Puyo games through the decades, including spinoffs and crappy clones and such. (This is real thing in Japan, dude! Ganbatte!) Hey, if we able read Japanese right, we MIGHT even play Puyo Puyo for realsies! Dagnabbit! Well, there are some translations to pick 'em out and let do the rest, and there are some Puyo Puyo games that were released OUTSIDE of Japan, including Puyo Puyo Fever (a.k.a. Puyo Pop Fever), Puyo Puyo Tetris (the most epic crossover IN HISTORY!) and most recently, Puyo Puyo eSports (a.k.a. Puyo Puyo Champions)!

Well, without further ado, let's start with the ROM hacks and translations:

RadioTails just released the version 2.0 of the Deluxe edition of Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine, a Sega Genesis game that attempted to "localize" Puyo Puyo in the early 90's (see also: Kirby's Avalanche). It features a brand new dialog for Dr. Robotnik and his 12 robots, SRAM saving support, a cleaner dialogue font and has Sonic the Hedgehog instead of Carbuncle Has-Bean. Now that's what I call an improvement!
PATCH DE DOWNLOAD!

Just last year, the Precise Museum, a group known for translating Puyo Puyo games and other Puyo-related media, had finally released an English translation patch for Puyo Puyo!! 20th Anniversary for the Nintendo DS. Everything's fully translated, including the story dialogue, menu graphics, tutorial texts and more! It is a must have for any Puyo Puyo fan!

So, the whole world needs some English translated Madou Monogatari/Sorcery Saga games, right? Well, fear no more, 'cause Supper just released not one, but TWO Madou translations last year, and they're actually the translations of the Game Gear ports of Madou Monogatari 1-2-3! Back then, we had one GG Madou game that got translated to English: this first one (Sorcery Saga I: Three Magic Spheres), if I recall correctly. Now we have TWO of 'em finally got translated, and we rocked the streets! Well, technically, in my darndest opinion, the Game Gear ports of Madou Monogatari 1-2-3 is pretty fun play 'cause it's got cuter graphics and some slapstick comedy in to it. (The PC-9801 version has some dark and gory stuff on it! Ugh!)
Sorcery Saga II: Arle, Age 16
Sorcery Saga III: The Ultimate Queen

BUT WAIT! THERE'S MORE! I have some little stuff to show this C3...

It's basically the 8x8 font used in Mean Bean Machine now ported to SMW. This is pretty fun to do this, since it took me 3 hours make it.

Replaces GFX2A.bin with this one. Feel free to use it as long as you give me credit.
DOWNLOAD NOW!

I hope you enjoy my 1234th post and this thread! It's been a while guys! Maybe someday, I'll show you some more of it and a little surprise later on when the post-C3 rave begins. In the meantime, you can still send me some requests in my layout request thread, so I can spend more free time when I'm not getting lazy. Have fun! Bayoen!

UPDATE
Welp! It looks like C3 forum's about to close soon, but I'll be postin' moar stuff for today here it is!

Not Puyo-related, but holy shmow! It looks like the Sakura Wars fandom has been finally risen from the depths of darkness! With the release of Shin Sakura Taisen (still waiting for the western release, though!), everyone was waiting for another Sakura game to be localized for the western audiences... until now, just last December, NoahSteam and his team just released an English translation for Sakura Wars for the Sega Saturn! YAAAAASSS!!! Everything's fully translated... well, except for the end credits. Time to reboot your brain and start making all of those 90's memories ever again!
Check out the trailer here!
PATCH DE DOWNLOAD!

Sega Saturn, Shiro! has also explained the whole game, as well as the patch's breakdown:
Check out the video here!

The Sakura Wars fan translation also has its own project website!
Check it out, yo!

Another GFX thing! This time it's the 8x16 font used in Puyo Puyo (and Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine) for the Sega Mega Drive/Sega Genesis.

Covers TWO pages of Map16, should be worked perfectly fine if you're using Layer 2.
DONWLOAD NOW!

Moar graphics will come out very soon, probably. Also, as I promised, I'll be showing you a BIG surprise before the C3 forum closes, so keep yer fingers crossed! Anywai, have fun, plebs!

Just to clarify, are these all projects that you've been involved with? If so, that's a lot of varied hacking!

I'm the guy that gives you the news about ROM hacking and beyond, dearie.

Alright! Last one here is a COLORFUL surprise!

Orchids and Hydrangeas (2019)

This my current layout I'm using it right now. It's pink-and-blue color scheme takes the inspiration from 80's color aesthetics (that's why it's called Orchids and Hydranges after all!). The nested Quote and Code boxes are also styled, too, so here's the full layout set in action!

SMW Central Logo Design Concept
Remember my SMWC logo design in 2016? I was such a noob at making graphics since I was using Microsoft PowerPoint for that matter... but until now! Here's what the SMW Central logo looks like right now!

Click on the images to enlarge.
TOP: With the tagline.
BOTTOM: Without the tagline.
Thanks to the image editing program known as the GIMP, I've finally whipped up an all new logo design! Feel free to use this as a site banner replacement whatsoever (but sure to resize it to make work, btw), as long as you give me credit.

The Story of Arle Nadja and Her Possible Inclusion as a Smash DLC Fighter (or some sort)
Let's face it, guys: Everyone in our world, especially the whole Puyo/Madou fandom, still wanted to include Arle Nadja as a Smash Ultimate rep, right? I mean, I don't think how it took AGES to include her 'cause there are two of the Puyo Puyo games have already ported to the Switch, mainly Puyo Puyo Tetris and Puyo Puyo Champions (and THAT's the only requirement to become a Smash rep!).

The only problem is that her current design (Sonic Team design) seems to be outdated and too girly! (C'mon, man. It's 2020, so why not make the change, yo?) If you know what that means, here's what Arle-chan looks like:

There she is. The spunky magician herself.

To clarify how Arle Nadja is, she was first introduced to the public on November 17, 1989 with the release Madou Monogatari Episode 2: Carbuncle on the DiscStation, Compile's very own disk magazine, making her 30 years in her existence.

This is what Arle Nadja, as well as Rulue, Schezo Wegey and Lord Satan look like in the official box art of Madou Monogatari 1-2-3, released nearly 30 years ago. Would look a tad hilarz IRL, right?

Is there a chance when there will be an epic makeover for her? What she'll be look like 30 years from now? Only time will tell... also, sorry for my bad english, i'm scared

Aaaaand that wraps up for tah-day! It's been a pleasure for staying this marvelous C3 event that has ever been, dood. See ya next time! Until the next C3!! BOOYAH!!!

KAMEK THE MAGIKOOPA, OVER AND OUT!!!
