Managing Multiple Midway Points never has been easier.

ToolSuper Mario World

Let's be honest: As awesome as Multiple Midway Points is, there is a major flaw: Each level must contain the same amount of midway points. Miss out a single one and the whole patch breaks. This is why I created a Python script to create multi_midway_tables.asm with a set amount of midway points per level but you can't use it to change an already used multi_midway_tables.asm.
I managed to upp myself by releasing...

Multiple Midway Points Tool

Functions:
  • A GUI for midway point settings.
  • Store the midway points into binary files.
  • Import and export of multi_midway_tables.asm (this will also fix broken multi_midway_tables.asm, hopefully).
  • A patcher so you don't have to use Asar.

As for screenshots... well, there isn't much to show but hey, that's still something:

I'll also release an update to my midway point sprite, just to keep a theme of midway points.

Enjoy!

This looks hecka nice...Well done! Is it safe to patch it multiple times?
It's build upon repatching, it has to be safe.
This seems like it'll be a really helpful and useful tool.
I'll have to give it a try when I use the MMP Patch.

Nice & Impressive work MarioFanGamer. #smrpg{y}
Well, my multi-midway patch doesn't require every level to have the same number of them...

Good idea for a tool, though. Now that I think about it, it's kind of surprising that it took this long for someone to make one.

I'm working on a hack! Check it out here. Progress: 64/95 levels.
This makes our lives easier so we don't have to look at the code of the file everytime to make sure the positions are right. I'll give it a shot soon. Good work.

Are you alive or just breathing?
This is awesome we really need more tools like this for patches like Vfw dialogues patch custom mario palettes patch and others but other than that this tool is pretty good
This is my non existent layout I plan on adding one soon.. or never

Give thanks to RPG hacker for working on Asar.
This looks nice. I'm gonna try it out once I get the MMP. By the way, though, I feel you're forgetting an important statement: is it totally compatible with LM3 or not?

My Discord server. It has a lot of archived ASM stuff, so check that out!

Here's a thing that's confusing: I ran Managing Multiple Midway Points tool and it doesn't work, both on my laptop and PC. Any idea what's wrong?
I am serious. The tool stopped working for no apparent reason. I even checked windows compatibility to see if the tool would open and nothing. I have no idea what to do.
Okay, that's definitively weird. I definitively compiled MMP and Midway.dll as a release target (and asar.dll should function too). All I can think of is to redownload it as there is no issue which might come into my mind.
No. The error is still there. Perhaps you should convert the .exe format into other formats if you can. Now sure if that might fix the issue.
It's a Windows program using .NET and compiled in C#, of course it's an exe file. There is no other extension which can work. All what I can think of is that you didn't have the necessary .NET framework installed (.NET Framework 4.7.2 for the GUI, .NET Standard 2.0 for the DLL).
Hmm. My laptop can't run this program. I'll uninstall the current NET framework and replace it with the new one. Hope it works.
Edit: No. It turns out my laptop is compatible with net frameworl 4.7.2. If the same thing happens on my PC, then I'm not sure what to do. I really wanted to use the tool.
Edit: I was wondering: are there are other .net framework alternatives that should work with your tool?
After some thinking, I decided ti really try out the tool in other ways. I know that the tool doesn't work at all on my PC and laptop, but is there any difference here? And what blocks do I need to use for this to work?
And one more thing and this one is really important: is the tool or patch compatible with the latest overworld indicators patch?
Alright guys, I just have fixed and submitted MMP to the tools section. This time it's properly tested so it properly generates the tables and patching also works now on headered ROMs (though this likely does break support with headerless ROMs which is something I'll have to invest sometime soon).
Great job on making the tool, MFG-sama! I might be using this for my hack...
