Paperball - original Monkey Ball clone donut steel

Non-Hack GameVideo/Trailer

Paperball is a game I've been helping my friend DJ Coco with! It's got over 150 stages of ball rolling action spanning 4 game modes, including Arcade, Rush Mode (where you have to beat all levels within the time limit), Medal Mode (where you have to win medals to unlock more levels) and Multiplayer Mode (where you compete for the best times simultaneously)!

If you'd like to give the game a try, there's a free demo that's available right now! It's got 10 stages to give you a taste of the final game, coming out soon!

If you're interested, be sure to follow @CliaxGamesCoco on Twitter! We're also running a contest where you can win a free Steam key for the game!
I'm pretty optimistic. The level design looks a lot like what I've been wanting out of a new Monkey Ball game. The different game modes sound fun, too, and the papercraft aesthetic is really cute.
Reminds me of all sorts of cute little games.

Kororinpa on the Wii comes to my mind over Monkey Ball.
I'll be looking forward to seeing more of this as its looks rather neat. #smrpg{y}
Haven't played Super Moneky Ball in a lot of time. This is very well designed, it's definitively reminiscent of the experiences I had in SMB. The music is nice and the aesthetic is being really well used and pleasing to look. Keep up the nice work.

What platform does it run on?
Thanks guys. I've forwarded your responses to the lead dev.

Only on Steam right now, but that might change in the future.

I'm a big Monkey Ball fan so I've been keeping an eye on this for a while; after playing the demo here's my thoughts:

Most importantly, the level design is pretty good! The levels feel fun to play through and have a decent level of challenge without being too over-the-top for a demo. The overall aesthetic actually works better than I expected, with the cardboard platform edges and colouring pencil textures. The music also seems to be nice from I've heard so far. I wasn't sure how well the game would work without lives, but the addition of medals does give incentive to try and get really good at the levels.

And now for the minor nitpick hour™: This is probably just me being too used to Super Monkey Ball Deluxe's physics (since I don't expect the game's physic to be 1:1) but the game's physics feel a tad... slugish at times? It's most noticable in the launchers stage; it feels like there's a slight delay between you getting hit by the launcher and actually being launched. Also I'm not really a fan of the voice acting but it's something I can put up with.

So yeah, the demo is good, it's the Monkey Ball spritual successor I've been wanting for ages (seriously Sega, why did you remake Banana Blitz of all SMB games?!) and I look forward to the full release! #smrpg{y}

Thanks for the feedback! I haven't heard anyone mention the sluggishness before among the testers but I'll tell the lead dev about it.

We got featured in an article! Thanks everybody for the great reception so far! It's all very exciting.
Congrats, dude! Now, let's see if we could play a bootleg Super Monkey Ball game...

Can't say I have, but I like the classic Sonic games so maybe I should give it a go sometime.

Funnily enough Aimee Smith, the voice for our mascot Coco, also voices Milla.
