So basically I am forced to use 10 or Ubuntu, but this is my gaming machine so RIP!
That and the idea of it limiting what games I can play would really start to suck after a time.
If your computer was manufactured in 2018 or later (or has Intel Coffee Lake processors, AMD Ryzen "Raven Ridge" hardware or newer), then it most likely will
not run Windows 7 - manufacturers for these kinds of hardware did not develop any W7 drivers for them.
Intel Kaby Lake hardware, AMD Ryzen (1st generation like Summit Ridge or Pinnacle Ridge) & older based PCs can use Win7 or 8.1.
alternatively you could run an LTSB/LTSC edition of Win10 [not the "normal" editions of Win10 like the Home and/or Professional editions], which I'm doing on my bedroom PC - w10 ltsc almost nearly runs as good as Win7
