Did anyone saw DeepFakes? Are DeepFakes Danger or Revolution?

I suppose that advanced technology reached to the point to make FakeNews. Coming soon, in the future, the World Goverments will soon censor the internet.
Obviously, people are going to complain about the possibility of this being used by people obscuring actual photos maliciously, or perverts using it to create fake nudes of their high school crushes and whatnot. I'm still kind of lukewarm on the whole thing myself - while this sort of technology IS pretty cool in the sense of "hey, look at how far photoshop/image editing has come", I've seen some of the results myself and it isn't nearly as impressive or realistic as these "ZOMG WHERE IS SOCIETY GOING" news articles would like you to believe.

It's not really worth paying attention to this stuff (yet). If it comes farther along then maybe it would be neat, but I can't really think of many practical applications of such tools aside from the obvious ulterior motives.

Just because it's flashy and technically possible doesn't mean it's a good idea. I don't like them, not even for posthumously inserting actors in films.
When they inevitably fall into the wrong hands, they will use them to make politicians or big (or even small) YouTubers they don't like say things they never actually said or put them in damning scenarios they were never actually in, and then we won't know what to believe anymore, even more-so than currently.

I really hope some of that is over-reacting and fear-mongering, but ya know, Murphy's Law.
