Been listening to a lot of albums lately because I've been trying to find new music and I've stumbled upon a lot of good stuff.

I pass the question off to you: What are some good albums (or EPs) you've listened to recently?

憂鬱 - 憂鬱 (Synthwave)
Been getting into synthwave lately and this album is some good stuff. Its got that nice old nostalgic sound that everyone loves and it just sounds amazing.

Metallica - Metallica (Heavy Metal)
Can't go wrong with songs like "Enter Sandman." Metallica is always a welcome listen for me.

Sade - Promise (R&B / Smooth Jazz)
Found this album through this video and figured the song it was worth a listen since Vektroid sampled the song "Tar Baby" on the classic Vaporwave album Floral Shoppe.
I re-listened to and have come to appreciate DAMN. more since my first few listens. Not Kendrick's best maybe, but still pretty rich musically.
The new Jack White album, Boarding House Reach, is pretty great.
Shoutouts to Currents by Tame Impala for being a good boy too.
The Mountain Goats - Zopilote Machine

its still so impressive how john darnielle is able to write such distinct songs with the same handful of chords.
ask me if i give a f*ck...

This is pretty cool. I like how, for lack of a better term, "first take" this album sounds. Some of it reminds me of the earlier Velvet Underground material with the lo-fi production style and the way they harmonize vocals. And to add to what you said about using so few chords and progressions through out the record - over time I've come to realize that great musicians do a lot with little. I can definitely see myself coming back to this! Thanks for throwing this pile of good tunes on to my lap.

Here is an album I've been listening to since it came out this past March. Virtue by The Voidz.

This album is all over the place stylistically. Key tracks for me would be Leave It In My Dreams, QYURRYUS, AlieNNation, Lazy Boy, Pointlessness.
Death Grips - Year of the Snitch

Animal Collective - Strawberry Jam

This Town Needs Guns - This Town Needs Guns (Self-titled album)

USAISAMONSTER - Space Programs

Three of those last albums may be old, but they're golden - I recommend you give all of them a listen if you haven't already.
"Pathetic."
Schnellertollermeier - X

I’ve had this spinning in my car for nearly 2 months.
Re-visiting the Pendulum discography.

Hold Your Colour
In Silico
Immersion

Of their entire discography (excluding the new "The Reworks" album), Pendulum is one of the only artists in which every song is amazing, and on my playlist on Spotify and Deezer.

Last month, I decided to start getting all the numbered MTV Party to Go albums on CD. I just got #7 on Monday and have listened to it SEVERAL times since then. It has become one of my favorites in the series, along with #5 and #6. I just need to get a new copy of #2, which I did have, but had to toss because the last song had become unplayable due to skipping that I couldn't fix.

Recently listened to Pitbull's album Globalization after hearing 'Fun' for the first time.

That album is poppin'

the billie eilish debut album... whatever your thoughts on her and whether he's really an "industry plant" or not, it's actually a really good album imo. apart from you should see me in a crown and bury a friend - which I liked as singles prior to the album - there's some good tracks like "bad guy" "all the good girls go to hell" "8" or "ilomilo".
I'd recommend unless you hate mainstream music I guess lol
Lush by Snail Mail was something I finally got myself to listen all the way through. Really helped me get through 3 projects and a test all in a week. I had known about the album since a few weeks after it came out last year but I only really listened to two songs off of it until a few months back when I started going through her other releases. Pretty solid stuff I must say.

Also Guppy by Charly Bliss. I got into them last year and loved their first EP, Soft Serve, and a couple of their singles of this record but legit didn't listen to their first album all the through until last week lol.
COMING SOON:

Here's a selection of great, highly recommended albums from an avid metalhead (and music fan in general). I've practically had these in in constant rotation lately.

Agalloch- The Mantle

Seriously- the first song on here, "A Celebration For the Death of Man.../In the Shadow of Our Pale Companion," is purely breathtaking. I sometimes question how anyone could ever feel insecure again after writing a song like this one- this whole album is such a pure and thorough trek of the outermost limits of existentialism. The spirit of this album suggests a profound triumph over all of life's suffering and highlights a beautiful, almost oceanic sort of cosmic insignificance.

Modest Mouse- The Moon and Antarctica

"The universe is shaped exactly like the Earth," Isaac Brock sings in this album's opener, "if you go straight long enough, you end up where you were." The fact that anyone can go through as much shit as Isaac Brock and still emerge on the other side as such a brilliant musician and poet is a wonderful testament to human resilience, one of my favorite traits we have. Just try out "Third Planet" or "The Stars Are Projectors." You'll see what I mean.

Between the Buried and Me- Colors

One of the most unique and inspiring bands I've ever heard, Between the Buried and Me are on a level of almost inhuman musicianship. Of all the hundreds of albums I've probably listened to, "Sun of Nothing" is my favorite reflection on and counterargument to the feelings of misanthropy the and suicidal ideations that are faced by many. The fact that anyone can play guitar this well is, all by itself, a reason to keep on living. I've never seen another band with so much to prove- and they prove it all, beyond any shadow of a doubt.

The Microphones- The Glow, Pt. 2

The Microphones/Mount Eerie are, along with Modest Mouse, some childhood favorites for me, and maybe there's a pretty big contrast between the viewpoints of Isaac Brock and Phil Elverum- they're almost like opposites, but two ends of the same spectrum. "The Glow, Pt. 2," though it is probably Phil's least philosophical, most overrated work (which is saying a lot) and I'd strongly advise digging through his whole catalogue, is a great starting point for The Microphones as well as a classic. Though it is often categorized as "lo-fi," I don't really see it that way. Rather than using the tag as an excuse for sloppy musicianship, Phil layers "lo-fi" textures and recording techniques in a manner reminiscent almost of shoegaze, creating a unique and luxurious sonic landscape of raw nostalgia and childish yearning that I could get lost in forever. Try it out sometime.

I'll second this! I absolutely adore John Darnielle. The Mountain Goats' "All Hail West Texas" and "Tallahassee" have helped me through a ton, and really, about everything they've made is at least very good. I loved Transcendental Youth. JD is clearly a person who has been through several levels of hell, yet has somehow mustered the miraculous strength to power through to the other side. I kinda see Transcendental Youth as almost being like his "gift" to those who are in the same dark places he once was. I love that guy so much. Don't care as much for their very newest stuff, but might get into it eventually. Songs about D&D, goth culture and professional wrestling don't speak to me as much, but he's pretty much earned the license to write about whatever he damn well pleases at this point.
Crows - Silver Tongues recently came out and its already on the short list of my fav albums of this year. The rest of the album is a lot punkier than this song, and I cant recommend it enough.

Been enjoying the hell out of The Low End Theory by A Tribe Called Quest. I grew up on Jazz and I love hip hop, so this group is a match made in heaven.

This. Took more than 3 weeks for it to get to me, but it was worth the wait. Don't think I'll buy from that seller again though. It was difficult to track, which made me worry that a once-reputable and trustworthy seller had gone bad.

Aratamemashite Hajimemashite Midori Desu - Midori

Just found these guys the other week, already buying their CD's. A unique sound they posess!

idol edit; youtube link has some mild nsfw, so users bewarned.
Not exactly a new album, but a remastered version of Abbey Road was released recently for the album's 50th anniversary and it's utterly incredible. I'm sure everyone here has listened to the original album many times over already, but I think it's worth a re-listen:
