New Super Mario World 2: Around The World Full Hack Release

Super Mario WorldFull Hack ReleaseScreenshots

I played through your 12 Magic Orbs hack, and enjoyed it despite finding some of the harder levels a little nerve-wracking at times, nonetheless, those screenshots look absolutely snazzy. I hope to find the time to play this new hack someday.
  • In the last level of the abstract world, there's a segment with a Lakitu cloud that the player rides. It can be horribly broken by either flying right over the stage or by having the cloud carry momentum through the pipe, where it can be ridden on the other side and used to explore all sorts of unintended places, such as areas beneath the former death plane and backtrack to the start of the room, for example.Here is a screenshot. It might just be me, but I found the music to be painful when it reaches its higher notes.
  • I really recommend not using an enemy as a mandatory puzzle element. Enemies are very easy to kill, especially out of habit, and it can render areas like this impassible.
  • The lighter waterfalls don't seem to animate. I use SNES9x on my New 3DS which might be the culprit, but I'm pointing it out just in case. I found this level to be pretty frustrating, with really cramped, long areas where a single mistake would leave you stranded or spending large amounts of time correcting the platform's path. The enemy placed right here is a very nasty move that I really don't like.
  • Mind giving me hints for that "House of Illusions 2" level? Once the charm of "blocks and coins hurt you" wore off, I found myself increasingly annoyed with the level due to its cramped hallways, slight maziness, and large amount of enemies.
  • The star leading to world 15 is called "Castle of Dreams" and the star leading back to world 14 is called "Warp Pipe".

I'm still enjoying this hack, but the large difficulty spikes in these later worlds are making my progress a lot slower.

Or just using a reset in the areas.

They're supposed to be frozen waterfalls because this level is right before an ice castle so that's why they don't animate

The secret code 6 first digit is wrong, it should be 4, not 1, luckily I save stated to get through this and I note all of the code. Anyway, it is the best hack I've played so far although a little hard.
This Hack is brilliant, he accepts this post!

This hack is amazing! Thanks for making it! On World 9-Ghost House my Yoshi disappears when I am about to fight the secret ghost for the hidden code digit, so I can't beat the secret exit. Anyone else experiencing this? Again, thanks for this amazing hack!

EDIT: The glitch only occurs if you die after the midpoint.
It's great to finally see this hack finished and released.
It has a lot of well designed aesthetics so I am hoping the level design aspect holds up as well.

I'll give you credit for the length if most of the levels are fun.
But once again congrats on getting it completed.

Thanks for reporting that, i didn't notice it. The hack has been updated so this issue along with a pipe at the start of 10-5 that led to the boss fight have been fixed

At level 7-3, you do not have all yoshi coins. I found 4 coins. There was one.

You have to intentionally lose the race to find the 5th one

Does this use SA-1? Just wondering if I can play this on my super everdrive.
I just checked and it doesn't:

Nice, thank you #ab{8-)}
Finally found the time to give this hack a try.

There's one oversight I came across so far: in Mario's house, after you find the hidden door and get the "can't enter this yet" message, the two tutorial message boxes will also say that instead of what they're supposed to say. Looks like the level number wasn't restored correctly?

Either way, I maintain that this looks gorgeous. #tb{:)}

Hmm... This is the best hack I've ever played, by a wide margin too. I have been playing this on a SNES classic, but have had a few minor issues. The border around the overworld map, which has icons that change color depending on the current world, seems to occasionally disappear and become entirely black. Also, when I first attempted a 2 player game, my friend lost all five of her starting lives, and should've gotten a game over screen and had the life share window pop up, but instead automatically continued with 99 lives... I'm not sure whether or not those issues are unique to the classic, but, otherwise, I've made it to world 4 so far and absolutely love the game, an easy 5/5.
You're not the only one to notice the Game Over oddity quickdraw86 (BTW, welcome to the forums); I noticed it too while playing a one player game on SNES9x on my computer, so the oddity isn't unique to the SNES classic.

Pink Gold Peach, you might want to fix that so that getting a Game Over either brings up the Continue/End prompt or goes straight to the title screen, as I too find it strange that continuing gives you 99 lives.
I think Gamma V can help you out, Pink Gold Peach. She also experienced the issue in past. I guess she made a video about it, but I think it was removed for good?

A couple other things I noticed: the sprite for Luigi on the overworld map only shows half of him. Also, it's possible to advance to level 3-4 without clearing the previous level.
