Well, my first C3 submission, and hopefully not my last! Finally, BRRs get some love.
I've always been a bit of a geek with sampling. Ever since I was a kid, I've found samplers fascinating, especially the ones that had interesting quirks and artifacts. So when I found out the Snes used samples, I really wanted to make music for it. When I discovered AddmusicK in 2015, I was already experimenting with making my own BRR samples, and I still continue to make more samples in hopes of using them in ports. In fact, my favorite part of the porting process for Snes has to be making custom samples.

The collection I am presenting here has been four years in the making. It contains 782 samples, all of which are homemade, either for use in my own ports, or made by request for other porters. Do you love sound design? You should find things to keep you busy. Do you want to create JRPG music, a banging rock track, or, well, something else? You should find something that inspires you.

Cool Features:
• many homemade samples
• clean loops with no buzzing/clicking
• huge distribution of instruments
• most samples are small and fairly crisp, optimized for SMW porting
• tuning and adsr provided for all samples
• most samples sound good with a wide variety of setups
• I take sample requests, which can be used to expand the collection!

I plan to post this in the custom music section at some point, and maybe submit it to the brr samples section.

I regularly make more samples, so I plan to update the collection from time to time, say, once or twice a year, depending on how much attention it gets and how often I add new stuff.

Have fun, and feel free to complement, criticize and make suggestions.
download the collection here!

This is some incredible work! Almost 800 samples. I'm sure this will be an awesome resource for all the porters. As always great work musicalman. Always impressive.
Fanatical like a Demon
Definitely looking forward to using these! Nice job ma dude!
Major thanks to Suika Ibuki for layout!
I'm open for music requests, just DM me on discord and we can further discuss there.

Thank you so much! This is such a cool idea and I don't know how nobody else did it before you.
awwwwwwwwwwww YEEEEEEAH dude, this is great; I'll enjoy using these samples a lot

thanks for this dude, this is insane haha

Holy shit this is incredible! I'll definitely make use of these in the future. Great job Musicalman!
This is such a great resource to have. Can't wait for the making of BRR sample packs to catch on and seeing more people release samples :P I especially thank you for the effort put into the categorization of samples; you have no idea how much of a headache that work gives me hahaha
what the FUCK, these are like a trillion samples.
I went through every single one of them and man, it's unbelievable what you just did. So many good samples, so high quality in general and yet many of them are so small, I honestly think this would be the best sample pack in a long long time. Thank you so very much.

E: I really hope you upload this to the BRR section!

to hear birds and see none.
Whoa, that's a lot of samples. I'll definitely be using some of these. Nice work, musicalman!
This may actually be the best resource release yet. Like you said, there's a large selection, and most of the samples are of decent quality while not being too big. Nice work.

Thought this was going to be music. Would've loved to pitch in some of my samples there. Spiccato Strings, Brass, needless to say it's done very well. Nice work.
Ahhhhhhhhh yeah!

Sure, these samples are really helpful, and saving a lot of time.

I'd like to use them in my future projects!
I do wish that I don't need to open up a brr player or create my own SPCs to listen to all these... but that being said, damn are these samples SO GOOD!

The only problem I had is inserting "kick 2" from the acoustic drums gave me this error in AddmusicK saying
Code
The sample "samples/.\testing\kick 2.brr" was of an invalid length (the filesize - 2 should be a multiple of 9). Did you forget the loop header?

A more of a me problem and a request from me would be that I'd like to have "pan flute 2.brr" to be able to reach a higher note since that is probably the best pan flute sample I found that sounds high without it being butchered (probably like, lower the quality to a $03 $00 would do wonders for it and calling that "pan flute 2 (small)"). But as everyone said, these are really great!

Yeah, I know it's annoying. And BRR Player gets laggy after extended use on my system particularly if I've gone through many samples in one session. I've thought of making a soundfont with the samples or a set of preview wavs or something, but that would take so much time to assemble. But I'm open to suggestions.

Oops I was afraid of errors like that popping up. Let me know if you encounter any more of those. I can easily fix it, but wasn't able to check all samples. Your request for a downsampled pan flute should be an easy one too. I'll update things soon, hopefully today.

This is insane! Thanks for sharing this with the community, I'm sure it will help a lot of people. Awesome job! #smrpg{gasp}
Also, why isn't there a "tom 4" in the acoustic drum folder? It skips right from 3 to 5.

Uh wow numbering is fixed in !patterns.txt but not in the samples... Probably comes from last-minute organization which screwed up the numbering. Will be fixed in next update.

Also I've decided to hold off making updates until a week or two after things calm down. I realize there are some downsides, but I don't want to make a bunch of small updates because that makes things kinda inconvenient to keep up with imho. In the meantime if you need something immediately, feel free to message me.
