I was wondering can anybody tell me everything you shouldn't do in smw hacking
This is my non existent layout I plan on adding one soon.. or never

Blatant level or overworld edits, cutoffs or floating tiles, long empty areas in levels and eye-searing palettes.
Here's a gigantic list of tips about what you should and shouldn't aim for. (It's just the list of the tips that you can find at the top of the site.)

These are only tips, you shouldn't take them as absolute rules (except those that mention bugs and glitches), but nonetheless they should give you a good idea of what you should be doing to make a good game.

All this, however, is only if you want to appeal to the general public. If you have an artistic reason to break a rule, don't care if your work is hard to appreciate, or are just having fun doing it your own way, then by all means do what you want to do.
