Favorite Mario Game?

Super Mario Advance 2 is my favorite game of all time. Wayyyy too many memories to state anything else. Super Mario World might top it, but only because of the ROM hacks, not because of the core game.

Am I the only one who likes the 'raw' music from SMA2?
I mean, the fact that I literally have a picture of me "playing" it when I was 2, Super Mario World

2nd is Yoshi's Island (not to brag but beat the entire game 100%)

3rd This was hard but I have to go with Mario is Missing
(just kidding it's paper mario ttyd#smw{9.9}

Probably would have to be either Super Mario Galaxy or Super Paper Mario. First two my family actually owned, and thus the first ones I was able to play for long periods of time.

If not Mario Maker 2 then it's probably NSMBU. Despite the boring aesthetic and weak presentation it was a fun game with varied level design and good multiplayer.
I have alot like Paper Mario TTYD, New Super Mario Bros U, Super Mario Odyssey, etc, but if I had to choose, it would be Super Mario World. Its the one I grew up with, when I would go to my dads house (When I would go to my grandmothers house especially on school days, when I was little, and get back from school, I would go upstairs there, and play on the Sega Genesis, Sonic 2, so I got to play both Mario and Sonic, growing up).

I just really love the Cape Flying in it for example. Its a bit hard to finally understand how to do it right, but when you finally get it, it's fun and rewarding. I also love the Yoshi's. My fave one is the Blue Yoshi. I like to beat Star World 2, so that I can go in it, make the Baby Blue Yoshi swallow the Star that falls at the beginning of the level, get on him, then Start and Select to exit the level, and BAM! I still have him then! I shamefully admit, I love flying on Blue Yoshis more then Cape Flying xD Its more rewarding since you have the hard challenge of trying your best to delay the moment you lose the Yoshi. I love the Koopaling battles as well. I am a huge fan of the Koopalings as you can tell by my header.

I just overall love Super Mario World.

Ludwig and Flareon would make a cool team.
Yoshi's Island, Super Mario RPG, Super Mario Sunshine. No particular order.

Super Mario World

Many. That includes almost every obscure and Japan-only game.

But if you’re asking for names, I like Super Mario World, Yoshi’s Island, and Super Mario 64

I like the first Paper Mario game the most. I love the brilliant huge world to explore with trademark platforming and the way it's all connected. The dialogue is very funny. I find the battle system with timed inputs, selective stat increases on level-up, and restrictions on the amount of bonus powers you can equip quite alright and some mini-boss encounters are very unanticipated your first time. I remember spending hours gathering ingredients from secluded areas to see what they become when Tayce T. cooked them (Thank God for online guides in the modern world.)

Just look above you...
If it's something that can be stopped, then just try to stop it!
I absolutely love SMB2 (aka Doki Doki Panic). Simply because it's so... different! While I've never played the original NES version, I've played the SMAS remake and the GBA re-remake too. Personally, I prefer the GBA Super Mario Advance version of it, since there's so much more to it. I remember spending a good chunk of time 100%-ing the Yoshi challenge when I was younger.

I also really like a lot of the 3D Mario series, with Super Mario Galaxy 1+2 both being top favourites. Not just the levels, but the soundtrack is proper good too.
I loved Mario 2. I had it on the NES and played it a lot. I played as Toad and loved speedrunning it. I fondly remember my dad years later coming home from work with a GBA and a copy of Super Mario Advance, which I didn't even know existed. I played it constantly. I actually prefer the watered-down sound of the GBA's music to the harsher SNES's sound.

My current favorite 2D game is Mario Maker 2. I just love seeing creativity, even in garbage levels. I love the multiplayer, even though it's totally unfair. I love making things, even if I have serious inspiration dry spells. I have around 800 hours in this game and it's just something I'm constantly finding myself engaged with. I'm a bit disappointed we didn't get a Mario 2 theme and that the well of big updates has dried out, though.

I loved Mario Odyssey a lot when I played it. It's probably my favorite 3D game, with tons of creative platforming and great controls. In a few months I'll probably replay it and see how much my opinions hold up. Galaxy 2 was my former favorite. I actually wasn't that big a fan of Galaxy 1 due to its level design that I found to be actually quite annoying. Sunshine felt like an incredibly underwhelming, rushed game and 64, while a source of fond childhood memories, was something I've squeezed every last ounce of fun out of.
