Suggestion: Have an annual period of time where kaizo hacks are not accepted in the Hacks section

Let's be honest- about 90% of all kaizo hacks are unimaginitive, boring and just plain stupid. If you went into the Hacks section, filtered it by Kaizo: Light, and picked all the hacks on the first and second page, they'd all basically be the same thing with different levels. Bland, boring, and unfortunately ubiquitous. So many kaizo hacks are being submitted each day that it's getting difficult to find something new that's genuinely engaging and fun.

So, here's my suggestion. We should have a period of time (let's keep it short-ish, maybe like a month or 3 weeks, or longer if you guys think it'd be a good idea) each year where the hacks section will not accept hacks of Kaizo: Light difficulty and above, or hacks that extensively use kaizo tricks. This helps prevent the hacks section from being oversaturated with uncreative kaizo hacks that are essentially clones of each other, and forces people to put actual thought, care, and effort into their hacks to make them more enjoyable. How does that sound?

...?

It's not like this is going to cause people who regularly make kaizo hacks to start making standard ones. In fact, they'd probably just wait until the period of time ends to submit their kaizo hacks.

I don't play kaizo hacks, but I do enjoy watching them on YouTube or Twitch. From what I've seen, I feel like less than 90% of the kaizo hacks are unimaginative, so I can't agree with you here. Even then, I think this suggestion just doesn't feel fair and I don't think it will happen.

You're probably right, Gifty. I just really hate kaizo hacks and I think all of them are all the same bullshit. Still, people should at least start making more original content.

let's shut off the SMW hacks section and only promote YI hacking for a while

You cannot make a suggestion like this if this is what's in the back of your mind while writing it lol. It literally feels like you're saying "I don't like this, which means it should be eliminated!".

Also there's a reason the site has a Featured option. If you want quality stuff then you should probably look into that option instead of wanting to shut down everyone else's stuff. There's been more than enough drama and discontent around newcomers over SMWC trying to enforce ridiculously high standards on them ever since SMWC exists, which in turn discourages a lot of people from ever trying to attempt to do anything at all, and returning to that kind of approach would be a thousand steps back. Just let people express themselves and let the experience they adquire teach them how to do better stuff.

Sorry if this post comes across as asshole ish but i genuinely cannot see how this is a good suggestion at all

btw if you hate kaizos then why the hell are you even searching for them in the first place lol just download a regular hack

Seriously, what did you expected when hacking SMW? New games?
Since all the hacks are modified from the same game, the functions and events are really limited like in Super Mario Maker. Making a hack in the first place takes a long time to get accepted. There is a reason for them being accepted and rejected.

If you hate it because seeing the same things, SMW hacking is not good for you.
