New SMB SNES - you are already dead

Holy crap, I haven't been here in a while! I guess it's time for a status update.
First of all, I've ported to a new ROM that uses PIXI. Currently, that's causing huge issues mostly involving Hammer Bros and variants, issues that I really hate trying to fix.
Second of all, I've managed to finish four (4) levels! I'll share them now, because why not?

Lemon Resort (Disco Resort Zone):


True to its name, this level has lots of disco koopa shells. Watch out!


Yes, this is a sort-of puzzle level, I guess.


Another puzzle, showing off more of the new block designs I've been working on.


After that comes some tricky platforming, which leads outside the tower...


Oh, hey there, moles. How's it going?


After that, we have a Reznor battle to wrap up the beach section of world 3! Now I only have the sky section to finish.

Lime Skies 1 (Revenge of the Springshrooms):


New power-up time! This time it's the SMB3 Raccoon Leaf.


Oh, and the level introduces Sumo Bros and Super Koopas, too.


And, it can't be the Revenge of the Springshrooms without the shrooms themselves! Come on, guys!


This part is rather chaotic.

I'm planning to expand the size of Lime Skies 1, because it's only a little half-level compared to the next couple.

Lime Skies 2 (Explosive Skyway):


This level is pretty true to its name, too. The Bob-Ombs are introduced here.


Oh, but what have we here? Looks like it's the Kirby-style bomb blocks that I nearly teared my hair out getting to work!


Choices, choices...


No Bullet Bills here, instead we have our second new face, Banzai Bills!


Bomb Bros, too. This part is pretty chaotic.

Lime Skies 3 (Ascension Shrine):


In this level, Mario dies.


However, he gets to go to heaven, where there are Cape Feathers (yay!) and Venus Fire Traps (boo!).


Also introduced here are the yellow "shower" Venus Fire Traps. Stay clear of them.


Heaven wouldn't be complete without death lasers, right? Stay clear of those, too.


And finally, collect this golden mushroom to un-die! Yay!

Okay, that was a thing. I'm hoping to actually continue with this hack, and here's the levels coming up soon...

Yogurt Bridge (???): In between Lime Skies 2 and 3. I have no idea what to do for this one.
Lime Skies 4 (Lofty Falls): A level featuring floating islands, with waterfalls and bubbles of water you can swim in.
Lime Skies 5 (???): A really cloudy level with climbable beanstalks and new Foos as enemies.

yeah, I've been too lazy to update this thread due to not actually finishing any levels

but, the overworld has been heavily updated since last time...




There are now four more entrances to the Special World (two in world 3, one in world 7, one in world 8), Lemon Shore 2's secret exit leads into the cavern area, where one of the Sugar Caverns levels is now Lemon Secret, and the Special World is completely different, now having just eight levels connected by warps, rather than four warp levels, and then a string of ten levels after that. Also, all the area palettes were tweaked.

(wow, I have no idea how long it's actually been since I've showed the submaps)

Yogurt Bridge (you know the level I skipped over to do lime skies 3) is halfway done, I guess

But most importantly, I'll probably port to a new ROM yet again, and I have plans to completely redo the overworld, and/or remove the custom power-ups patch from the hack, because it's caused me WAY too many problems.

Anyway, this was really just posted to let people know that this somehow still exists, despite basically being "entropy: the SMW hack"
