What are some songs you can't believe haven't been ported to SMW yet?

7 Grand Dad title theme, Greenhorn Forest, Dreams of Love and Literature (though someone on YouTube did port it, it wasn't submitted to the site and it's not super good tbh), Sonic 1/2 title theme, Bad Apple (the original PC98 version AND the version from all those YTPs)... the list goes on! I mean, some of them might not be that useful, but they're so popular that it's weird that nobody's ported them. There are also plenty of songs from more obscure games that'd fit right in to some of the more popular hacks on the site. I did a Yoshi's Island-style remix of a song called "Fripperies" from Katawa Shoujo. It's not the best but I feel that the song itself would fit quite well in a SMW hack, perhaps as a world map theme.

Right now I can only think of one example: a 1:1 port of Super Mario RPG - Welcome to Booster Tower (obviously sampled). When I came back to hacking this was one of the first songs I tried to find, but sadly I only got the unsampled versions (which in my opinion both are kinda bad honestly).

Fortunately, just some months ago, KKevinM ported it, so I can finally rest in peace.

I have a bunch of examples:
- Mega Man 9 - Galaxy Man
- Ninja Gaiden - Act 2 Part 1
- Star Fox - Titania
- Mega Man X4 - Sky Lagoon (X)
- Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door - Petal Meadows
- Super Mario 64 - Snow Mountain
- Mega Man 8 - Boss
- Mega Man: The Wily Wars - Wily Tower 1
- Mega Man 9 - Wily Machine
- Mega Man 10 - Get The Punk Out
- Solstice - Title
- Mega Man 6 - Wily Fortress
- Ninja Gaiden 2 - Battling Precariously
- Sonic The Hedgehog 3 - Angel Island Zone (both acts)
- Mega Man - Dr. Wily Stage 3-4
- Mega Man: The Wily Wars - Wily Tower 4
- Ninja Gaiden - Act 2 Part 2
- Mega Man X8 - Jakob Orbital Elevator
- Mega Man X8 - Boss
- Mega Man X4 - Iris
- Zero Wing - Natols
- Zero Wing - Legrous

As you can see, I find it disappointing that some amazing Mega Man tracks have never been ported, have bad ports or the ones that don't figure in SMW Music section anymore.

Theres a lot of songs out there that are compositionally sound and are a pleasure to listen to that Id like to see ported (such as I Am All Of Me from Shadow The Hedgehog, the Aqueducts Stage from Odallus as some examples). But the thing is, because people who port songs do it at their own convenience and the fact that requests are done on a voluntary basis, it is completely fair to expect that the songs you want wouldn't be ported over unless that person either accepts it, free or otherwise or you learn how to do it yourself. That's the way it is.

Its the same with requesting graphics and ASM, basically any thing that you would rely on others to do for you.
Modern Redrawn Mario Bros. 1.5 (last update - February 14, 2023, some new bonus frames, tons of minor touchups to various poses)

On Pixel Art Requests: Depends on what it is and if I have the time for it. If its complex and I don't have the time, don't expect me to accept it.

Projects I support:

At Dawn ...For Speed Highway is one that I was really surprised about not being ported.

Likewise, a surprising dearth of the Etrian Odyssey stratum themes. EO3's 5th and 6th stratums especially seem like they would make for good level themes. I might take a crack at porcelain Forest actually...
I always wondered why there is a lack of RPG songs (Breath of Fire, Dragon Quest, Fire Emblem, Wild Arms, etc.) currently since they usually have really great and emotional songs.

The new mario games are getting less ports and its disappointing.

Some songs from Super Mario RPG are underrated, and there are missing songs like Beach, Desert and Volcano from New Super Mario Bros.
The whole paper mario TTYD soundtrack.

I would also like to see LISA songs, but i don't think they would fit in smw at all.
There are no songs from Super Mario Odyssey in the music section yet. I'd really like to see ports of this, this, and this.

Cuphead-Funfair Fever
Numerous songs from The World Ends with You
Numerous Siivagunner rips
Pokémon US/UM-Ultra Necrozma
Virtue's Last Reward-Ambidexterity
999-Morphogenetic sorrow
Apollo Justice-Cornered theme
Mother 3-Unfounded Revenge
Pokémon R/S/E-Kyogre/Groudon/Rayquaza theme
Pokémon R/S/E-Elite 4
Pokémon R/S/E-gym battle
Pokémon B/W-Elite 4
Pokémon D/P-gym battle

I remember there was one port of 'Here We Go' that had Flintstones in the melody but it had gotten rejected for god knows why. The removal reason said "if you're gonna meme, at least do it in key."

Especially Funfair Fever. The Flintstones one was probably rejected because the part that sounded like the Flintstones theme wasn't the same pitch as the original Flintstones theme.

iirc the melody was in c major when the harmony was in f major, i think lui made a better one that matched the melodic structure and key better but apparently he never released it

i'm surprised there's only ONE shovel knight port in the section. had it on my mind for the past few months to port some myself but i never feel motivated enough to commit to it

Coolmario did make a Strike the Earth port (even have the SPC on my computer myself), but he didn't release that to the section either, and it honestly sounds much better than the Shovel Knight port I made, so it's a damn shame :V (there's also musicalman's Mole Knight Battle port he made for Idol 9 btw, but that was also not released, so RIP I guess)

might try my hand on making a few other SK ports tho, thanks to my older sister's boyfriend (which apparently knows quite a bit about programming) helping me in making FTM2MID finally work properly, which will help out a lot in that lmao

A large portion of Fire Emblem: Awakening's soundtrack.

Or just Fire Emblem as a franchise in general. Their games' OST gets largely overlooked, I feel.

STELLA!
There's not a single song from the Pac-Man World series on the site, nor any of the songs from the 6 Namco Arrangement titles.

I also can't find many Mario & Luigi tracks on here. Not even a single Dream Team track, it seems.
I'm surprised that I'm still the only one who's ever ported anything from the Magical Quest series, that there are so few ports from the Paper Mario and New Super Mario Bros. series, and that there are even fewer from Super Mario 3D World (and none at all from Super Mario 3D Land). I would have expected there to be at least one Mega Man 11 port in the section by now, too. For that matter, not as many tracks from MM9 and 10 have been covered as would be expected, and even fewer from the Battle Network series, plus Mega Man X4, X7, X8, and Zero 1 don't have any ports at all. There are very few Crash Bandicoot ports as well (aside from the one person who did full soundtracks of the games), none from any game but the first three, and only one Spyro port in the entire section, despite, I would think, both series being pretty well-known. There's also only one port from the GBA version of Donkey Kong Country 3, none from Returns, and one from Tropical Freeze. Not much from the newer Yoshi games or Super Princess Peach, either. There's also not much from the Ys series. Nothing from Radiant Historia or the Trails series either, which wouldn't surprise me too much if there weren't also ports in there from obscure Chinese games and such.

I'm working on a hack! Check it out here. Progress: 64/95 levels.

Well, no MIDIs are available in VGMusic and I don't think there's someone who's interested in porting a song by ear from this game. It's the same reason as for why there are no songs from Super Mario Odyssey.

Tracks such as Tornado Man or Abandoned Memory which I didn't mention in my last post because they have been ported, though aren't available in SMW Music section, would be nice. I too am surprised nobody's ported anything from the other mentioned games, Starforce series, and ZX Advent.

Maxodex has ported a few songs from Mega Man X including Spark Mandril and Flame Mammoth which we can't find in the section for a certain reason. The only logical reasons are he either wants to make a soundtrack or considers polishing his songs. If you know exactlt why he hasn't submitted them, let me know.

It's such a darn shame we have only two ports (not counting the one from Wyatt Croucher's pack) from Ninja Gaiden franchise and they're the same song from the first game knowing the fact that they have nifty themes. Modern day Mario games, Gradius franchise, Star Fox 64, F-Zero franchise (except the first game), and Contra franchise also suffer from having not too many ports.

Basically, I believe in peace and bashing two bricks together.

To me its:
-all the pursuit and cross-examination themes of the ds Ace attorney games.
-the Desert themes from new super mario bros ds and wii.
-The Snow themes from super mario 3d land/3d world.
-Fort Fire Bros and Castle theme from Super Mario 3d world
-Beach theme from 3d land.
-Cool Cool Mountain from Super Mario 64
-Some super mario galaxy songs(sampled honeyhive galaxy, spacejunk galaxy, bowser boss fights, etc.)
