[SMAS SMB3 Styled Hack] Super Mario: Nuclear Shroom

Standard

Hey there, thanks for checking out my hack thread. I'm just gonna jump right into this, tell the story and address the elephant in the room (so to speak.) It's relatively short, sweet and to the point.

"Bowser has gotten his claws on a very dangerous power-up, one that can destroy the world. The Nuclear Mushroom, a one of a kind power-up that has enough energy inside it to wipe out everyone. Get it back!"

...So I hope you weren't looking to be amazed. I know that the story is "eh..." but I really didn't want to do a "save this person from their kidnapper" story since that's way overdone. This story came to mind and well, I guess I'm gonna roll with it. At least for the time being unless I come up with something else or someone gives me a better plot idea.

Now that I have that all out of the way, these are the worlds you will be traveling through:
1 - Grassland
2 - Cloud
3 - Candy Land
4 - Desert
5 - Jungle
6 - Ice
7 - Dark World (Bowser's world. Lava, darkness, "the works.")
8 - Alternate Reality (I'll keep this a secret for now)

Some patches (among many) I'll make note of that this hack uses:
-Better Powerdown by MarioFanGamer
-DKCR Styled Sprite Status Bar by WhiteYoshiEgg, Ladida and others
-Dynamic Z by anonimzwx
-One OR two players by p4plus2 and Vitor Vilela
-Physics Modifier patch by Thomas
-Reprogrammed Vertical Scroll by Blind Devil
-SA-1 Pack by Vitor Vilela and others

Screenshots of levels 1-1 through 1-F (fortress.)

Finally, I'll end this first post with a video from a week back.

This is looking pretty good, specially the graphics. The level design also looks good. Also, I see you included the cherries from smb2. They also make a star appear upon collecting some of them?

PROTIP: If you're making a SMB3 Styled hack, include the hex edit for $00D63E.
If you're on Firefox 70+, and you don't see the blur effect, go to about:config and enable layout.css.backdrop-filter.enabled and gfx.webrender.all
For the best aesthetics, use Chrome, or with some settings, Firefox.

Colour scheme based on the awesome ViM theme, Gruvbox.

Thank you. Nope, they don't make a star spawn when you collect some or all of them, just give you a 1-up.

Except I want to keep spin jump so no. It's not suppose to be a 1 to 1 recreation of how SMB3 plays. Cape will be in the hack for example instead of Super Leaf, just not as broken.

Oh, okay, sorry then.

A quick update. The project is not dead, I've just been busy with other things. Also seeing how Lunar Magic 3.00 released not too long ago and things need to be updated to work with it, I will be waiting until everything I need gets updated to work with 3.00 before I port everything to a new rom and continue from there. Want to take advantage of the new features and the bug fixes. I might work a bit in the old rom in the meantime, not sure.

But yeah! Just wanted to address all of this.

Edit: 2/18/2019 - I have started to port everything over to a new rom to use the newest Lunar Magic and other updated resources.

Edit2: 5/16/2019 - Due to motivation, hack is now officially on ice.

your hack looks cool, level design okay and a good set of graphics. When will demo 1 come out?

This genuinely looks like a fangame, rather than a hack. It's amazing!
