to me it was 2010 and 2015. i was very carefree and was didn't have anxiety. i'd try to forget about the bad things in life and be happy.

what are the most nostalgic years for you?
2010 between 2016, since I created a massive black history of myself

I actually learned a lot since then
pretty much any point in my life before i hit puberty
2009, 2011 and 2015-17 all were very formative years for me, be they good or bad. They all had something to them.

2012. It was the best year of my life. Even the bad parts can't ruin how good it was.

2010-2012 I used to have a Nintendo 3DS, but unfortunately it got broken.

2011-2015 The best years of school and when it used to be good.
It's sad that I won't see it ever again..

2015-2017 I joined the internet and the world of gaming and could do
lot of great things (multiplayer, talking, playing with
friends, I also found Discord and Reddit by that way.)
Since I played Minecraft it inspired me very much to
how creative you can get with video games and I had the
best times there..

At the current state, lot is going downhill and I can't
live properly right now..
2008 was pretty good. I graduated high school, got my Eagle Scout award and generally had a lot of fun with friends as we wrapped up our senior years before heading off to college. That spring I had a group of friends who would come over every Friday afternoon straight from school to play Smash Bros Brawl. We'd get in our cars, drive to the grocery store, buy some snacks and then come to my place and beat each other senseless in Smash. Those are some really fond memories and I haven't really had an opportunity like that in a long time.
To me 2012 2013 2014 all 3 of those years were great amazing years for me! that when back then cartoon network, used to be good and youtube, and when i first got my wiiu, in 2014 and my 3DS XL and many more!
Nothing beats playing Paper Mario with my brothers and mom as a kid

But aside from that

Preschool, kindergarten, elementary, and middle school. I made such good friends who I miss. Also the care free nature of a child I miss. I have lots of memories from each of those times.

I miss being a little and playing in nintendo with my friends. I had every console up to the wii, but we mostly played snes, n64. and gc. Our favorite games were super Mario world, final fight 2, Yoshi‘s story, Mario kart double dash, Kirby air ride, smash Brothers melee, Luigi’s mansion, and pikmin.

When I was with my brothers though it was a whole different story. We played every mainstream Nintendo game.

I miss the trips my family and I went on. We went to Panama 3 times to visit relatives.

Also, my dad, his middle school class and I went to Florida, Hawaii, San Diego and Vegas. I’m nostalgic about those trips too

2002-2006. My high school years. Man, I had a real blast. Man, I feel old as hell.

I had relatable friends I could hang out with, and I'd spend literally hours nonstop being around them. I'd play and talk about video games with them, some sports, some silly shit. You name it, we've done it. You could be hardpressed to get me to do anything else without them.

Nowadays I don't have contact with them anymore. I wish I did. That's my only regret.

2013/2014 were pretty sick
I found pre-2012 a real blast to live through. I used to have a blog where I posted pictures of trucks almost daily, especially the ones I took myself. I was and still am an avid truck lover. We also had a field to paste links of amazing songs.
Not that some (but only some) of the post 2012 songs aren't good, mind you #ab{¬_¬}
Windowless ride, feeling alive
Are you alive or just breathing?
2013 - 2017. Was quite the crazy highschool career, SMWC and IRL. Only thing I didn't like during that period was grades.

Totally agreed. I think that time was like a golden age, especially for pop music

2008 - 2012 were some really awesome years for me, and i had absolutely no idea of that back then. in 2008 i went to a new school and finally got to make friends, and we're still really close to this day so that's a privilege.

This was also the time i was most active in here, using lm nowdays feel so nostalgic to me because of that... I had a demo of my old hack the seven crystals of peace released (looking at it now feels so weird cuz i see how much i think it sucks lol). I had soooo much free time to spend nights awake hacking smw... boy do i miss that.

For this site:
Personally I both loved and hated 2008, because it was my first year at SMWC. But it was also a time I lost my own mother. Many of my friends, including imamelia, were there for me and I appreciate them dearly.

I went through a lot of things and learned a lot. I learned to socialize more in times of the past I simply didn't know how because for lack of a real childhood moving around.

I think some of the best years were 2010-2013. They were wacky, silly, and I think I managed to keep on going. I learned a lot as well, and part of what I learned was offsite. I've come to accept it.

For outside the internet/another community:
2014-2016 was a period of time I really decided to go out and meet people. Even found someone to live with and love, but that came to an end after 3 years due to them leaving to handle family business, and their priorities were simply different.

I've been apart of another community for this time as well. Which further developed me into adulthood and many of my first times of proper gaming nights and so forth came from this. It has been a really open minded community and accepting, so it's been a blast.

While it has been good for this community and my life, it probably has been a downfall for my feelings towards the state of affairs at SMWC. I eventually just began lurking more and more until I just stayed logged off. But I am thinking things can change, and perhaps I can make some new good memories.

So I'll always remember the classic posting days, but I still strive to keep them going.

I find it kind of funny how many people here are starting their nostalgic years "range" with 2008 when I would probably start mine with 2006 or 2007 - despite the fact that I'm probably younger than half the people in this thread.

But yeah, mine would probably be just any point from 2006 - 2016 .. so basically most of my life with the exception of the last three years. My entire life throughout that time was pretty much just one amazing/inspiring event after another: Discovering the internet as well as SMWC, Acmlm's, and SomethingAwful (and a bunch of others), followed by finding Retsupray / Retsupurae in 2007, starting a sort of blog site for myself in 2009, making my first "online friend", starting a Youtube channel in 2013, joining SMWC in 2014, and just all the wacky events and incredibly fun moments/times I'd seen in between all of that.

It all kind of culminated in 2016 when I decided to (mostly) move on from the internet and spend more time with my IRL buddies, but I wouldn't say the good times ever ended. It sure is nice that I have sites like this to thank for those good times.

Oh man, how much I miss Retsupurae. Their riffs were legendary. Truly a sight to behold back then.

2013-2015 were good years. It was the end of high school for me. I became smarter, brighter, and I learned how to drive a car.

I'd say the period of my life that I most fondly look back at was from mid 2007 through 2008. During that time I got into the Pokemon video games (including the competitive battling side), started becoming active on the Internet, and had a lot of fun with my neighborhood friend. (Plus puberty hadn't really gotten to me yet.)
we used to live in a house; my brother and i shared a room but it was big and isolated and we also had a large den where we had all our toys and games (n64, gamecube, bins of legos, you name it), not to mention the large backyard with lots of cool stuff. pretty much pinnacle nostalgia and prime childhood; despite only living there a few years my fondest memories are from there.

oh... it was 1998-2004, basically all of my early school years up to 4th grade

in terms of SMWC... im very nostalgic for my pre-registration days (summer 2008-february 2009), basically when i was first toying with smw and asm and watnot
