I don't think that it's something that's either disallowed or necessary to do. I saw some entries use custom title screen, but I'm not sure about the movements. Either way, any edit won't affect your level's overall score.

If you use a background from a different level where the background uses the different tiles, it'll get garbled when you attempt to copy it.

Super GFX Bypass is allowed for this.

Using palette editor in LM is allowed and as it was said before, you MUSTN'T change pages 0-2 and 80-81 of Map16. If you want to use a different palette for an already existing tile, copy it to the new and only Map16 page.

Right, time to make a level that is less shit than my VLDCX entry!
What I have done is use the palette editor and enable custom palette and then recolored the BG changing those small colour squares. Also, blocks and coins had the wrong palette so I changed them from there without using any map16 page.
You said one exit only, but also that there should be a side level to activate switch palace blocks.

Does that mean that we get to build an extra level on top of the maximum rooms allowed? Or does that mean that the level can have 2 exits so long as one is a switch palace switch? Can there be multiple switch palace block colours and switches?

Vanilla switches disappear after activation, which can be used to reveal an exit under them.

That means you can have a switch palace separately from the actual level itself, regardless of how many switches you need. It doesn't count toward the amount of exits, especially since secret exits are disallowed.

The level must still only have 1 exit. Typically what someone will do if they include Switch blocks is that they'll make a separate level on the overworld that consists of nothing more than one screen and the switches and let the player hit them. This level won't be judged but I recommend not making an actual level out of it out of respect for the judges' time.

Yes. I don't really mind what type of exit you use as long as it isn't more than 1. Though if you're using a keyhole exit as your only exit you may want to specify that since the keyhole is usually the second exit in a level.

this time, i choose not to procrastinate my level. i will say the one exit rule kind of sucks but i understand its intention.

The only way to effectively work two exits in the context of this contest would be to make 2 entirely separate paths right at the beginning of the level so you basically had 2 different levels in your 1 level... Which would kind of break the vanilla LEVEL design contest a bit. Since the reason they want to avoid secrets is to avoid having to redo a level a second time, as it rarely adds to gameplay.

It display random junk of letters and numbers however this only happen on my Microsoft edge. it does fix it in other browser apps

since my english isn't the best I need to ask one question in here.
I didn't understand the part with the recoloring.
Am I allowed to change the colors of tiles with yychr so the tile uses the last colors of one palette instead of the first part of this palette ?

For example I would change color 02 to 08.

You are not. That's what we meant when we said no recolors. I'm sorry, that rule has been a little confusing for some people.

You can still change palettes used on the map16 page and make custom level palettes.
Is there a reason why custom music is limited to up to 4 tracks?
Why would you need more than 4 tracks? It seems enough for me.
