Fanatical like a Demon
And with a title like that I've probably lost a lot of potential interest... Welp, a few years ago, my dumb ass decided to tackle on something I thought would be a piece of cake. Little did I know this would drag on for 4 years, 9 months, and 9 days. Despite all the frustrations that followed, I'm proud to announce the Super Mario All-Stars Soundtrack: ULTIMATE Edition! Complete with 162 songs from the original game, gba games, mario maker, and more! This pack also contains virtually every SFX as well minus sampled and spc engine specific sfx all ripped by Vitor Vilela. Major thanks to musicalman for helping me along this painstakingly slow journey and helping with the mixes as well as giving his own spin on some of these songs. An honorable mention I'd like to include is Sinc-X for providing scripts to help ease the process of manually spacing the data in the texts as well as to help list all these text file to generate the spcs (seriously, big thanks, definitely helped speed up the last day for packing). Something else I have is another "demo" of a project I'm working on, the Yoshi's Island ost. "But didn't you already that one???" Yeah but it fucking sucks and is inaccurate as hell in terms of mixing so I'm starting from scratch again. As always an unsampled ost will come with it. This ost will also feature Super Mario Advance 3 ports (hopefully) and will will strive to include all SFX as well (a BIG hopefully if I can motivate myself enough and time allows). For the SMAS ost, if you guys could be my eyes and let me know if there's any incorrect info on the texts so I can correct them. Keep an eye on my SPC thread (yes I still use this) for updates on this as well as future projects, enjoy! The YI Collection will only be up until C3 voting is over (like p much all my C3 stuff) so get it while you can!

The big one I've been waiting for with C3 and I'm more than excited to put this into my hacks, it's fantastic to have all of these fixed with the addition of the Mario Maker songs in this pack as well! I absolutely love it, thank you for all of your hard work and devotion when it came to releasing even more accurate versions of these songs, amazing job and major props to you! :D They sound fantastic!
I really like how you released this right around the music remoderation.

Really nice, Ladies! I believe a SMAS soundtrack will be some of the best additions to the music section until today. Looking forward to use it, if you allow.

Dream team (feed them, please):

This is BIG man, and these SPCs are so enjoyable to listen to! I'm impressed! Great work!

i love the super mario advance 1 stuff!! a lot of the mario bros classic stuff is really good too. not quite as enthusiastic about the smm stuff (love the stacked fifths in the smb airship theme but a lot of the other stuff sounds super duper thin, this is a problem with two or three of the mario bros classic ports too) and some of the samples on some of the sma4 ports...dont really gel that well with the smas style imho.

love your work though! definitely excellent stuff here overall.
You've told me about this project and this is definitely a huge amount of ports. From what I've listened to so far their quality is excellent (as expected from you^^). I wonder with which masterpieces you'll come up next. #tb{:j}

Well it certainly seems like this massive undertaking was worth it. I love all the accurate port as well as all the variants from SMM and the Advance games. I'll definitely be using some of these in my hack.
god fucking bless.
Glad this is finally out! Impressed with how complete it is, including not just all games but also the Super Mario Maker enhanced. Good job you all!

Hope you guys also like my mega SFX pack!

Sounding good as always. This should eliminate any future need for SMAS ports once and for all, especially since you even put in the extra effort to include the Super Mario Advance and Super Mario Maker ones. I hope that the YI soundtrack goes as well or better, though the volume balance on some of the unsampled versions of those tracks sounds off to me, especially the flower garden and cave.

I'm working on a hack! Check it out here. Progress: 64/95 levels.
Well, that's a lot of work.
Gotta agree with MercuryPenny about some of the SMM tracks not sounding that good (SMB3 ghost house comes to mind) - they could use better sample work. That being said, the original tracks sound amazingly faithful to the original SMAS. This pack will certainly come in handy! Thanks a lot.
It's easily the best thing I've done
So why the empty numb?
Alright, I know I've already said it at the submission for this on the music section, but the world must know. This here, is absolutely SUBARASHII

What I mean is, is that I'm very happy that I can use the original SMAS music in my hack now, of my choice, and along with all other custom music of my choice without any struggles with old .IPS patching and all that nonsense. It all brings me back to when I first learned how to hack SMW all by myself and started trying the music patches of the time, even if they replaced all the original SMW music. But now I can kinda make reference to how I did it all back then, but greatly improved and with much more variety. Thank you so much for this dude.
Hey y'all, Scott here!

I tried different arrangements with musicalman and we both settled on less is better when it came to some of these. Like the smb1 airship took a lot of the style of the smb3 one, nice simple (and mono holy shit). The ghost house themes were hard to figure out. I knew I wanted the smw gh vibes and chose not to incorporate the percussion on either of the ports. I really wanted to keep the instrumentation and weird pan fades of the original but couldn't fit that to the smb1 but was able to find some solid ground imo with the smb3 one thanks to musicalman helping out there. I have to agree 100% that some Mario Bros. classic ports were hard to translate, specifically the in between stage themes like Game Over, Game Start, Player Restart, and Next Level T_T. I'm open to suggestions but want to keep the original instruments and don't want to do custom adsr for the sake of continuity with the OST (tho I could make them "Alternatives").

This was more of a choice to follow and translate the gba ports over and they did have more samples outside the original smas game. I went through the rom and heard every samples but the quality was rather horrendous so I entrusted musicalman to find the sources of those samples and make brrs. When I first started working with them it take some getting use to but I'm sure over time you'll grow into it like I did and you might find they gel in together more so than you initially thought ^^)

Thanks so much my good friend!

Hope this also helped shed some light on why some of the decisions were made Koopster and thank you for the kind words!

For anyone coming back to this, the OST has been updated. Nothing too major, I changed a few SPC timings that I forgot to take out unnecessary silence and changed a bit of incorrect info on some texts! Jx an fyi if anyone wants to re-download for the sake of making spc playlists, etc.

Ninja'd edit: Thanks AntiDuck!!! I'm so happy this makes you happy quq

Finally not going to rely on the SMAS music patch anymore! (only elders like me will relate.........)
This is such a giant relase of stuff. You even have SFX.
Great job!
And finally we got a sampled port from Super Mario All-Stars. In fact, we got even more with the inclusion of SMA songs and SMM songs and as a bonus (and the fact that it's included in the Advance games), you even ported Mario Bros songs. Now do additional SMW songs because some versions of SMAS includes too. I also find it interesting how you mimic the SMAS-style for the SMM songs because there aren't any (official) 16-bit arrangements, only 8-bit versions and the existing ports don't really match SMAS style.

I also have noticed how you have improved the unsamples Yoshi's Island soundtrack. The only issue is that the bass is a bit too quiet and not really heard. In fact, I would experiment with the other two basses and listen which one sounds better.
Holy almost 9 megabytes zipped... So many people are gonna use this though. Glad for you that you finished it!
