Minor Coding Suggestions

AAAAAAAA I DON'T KNOW HOW TO THANK YOU FOR THIS!

But seriously, this is what should've been done a while ago. It makes me wonder why nobody else reported this. Thanks again!
I have a Discord server as well! (by joining, you agree to the rules)

Oh hey I just remembered I've been suggesting that italicized names for inactive users return for years.
It's easily the best thing I've done
So why the empty numb?

Asked the respective team leaders. Pablo's Corner said it was okay, so I've added a difficulty field to the SM64 Hacks section (difficulties are - as specified by Pablo - Easy, Intermediate, Hard, and Kaizo). The Yoshi's Island guys are still discussing it, so I'm holding off on that one for now.

Already vetoed by Kieran on September 30. According to him, italic names "don't really provide any more information in the first place", "look like shit", and "break consistency". I myself am indifferent on the matter, so I'll just go with his opinion.
So... this has been brought up by who knows how many people over the years whenever display names get turned on but I think it needs to be said again. I really think there needs to be some kind of rule stating that you can't have sentences as your display name. It's a serious pain in the ass trying to figure out who is who when your name is "that tree is dying" or "my stocking is so full" or "Santa is dancing drunk to the soothing sounds of christmas" (obviously there's no names like this, but there are names with these lengths).

It's the same for foreign names. Some users have names in non English languages that are either sentences or multiple words that make their display name unnecessarily long. I don't know how much of a hassle this would be, and I don't know if this would take the fun out of display names, but it looks like the vast majority of people do it properly with just an alternate username. While others do what I've just described. So would it kill to make an amendment to this constitution?

See the first post - this issue is not related to site coding, so please keep it out of this thread.

Personally, I agree with both points. I've brought up the complaint in the staff forums and will get back to you once we've reached a decision.
A handful of people would like the Birthday Thread to be auto-updated again. [1]

Not sure how much extra coding it'd require, though.

Already working on it.
The C3 counter should be different colours.
Well, I guess I could also say something here as well; feel free to ignore this if it's not something that would be considered a problem or a suggestion :V

Well, first off, I was wondering about one thing: about the SMW (and possibly YI) music section(s), the SPC preview function, while a nice addition, takes an ungodly amount of time to even load properly, and this makes both previewing SPCs and loading the page itself take a unusually high amount of time, even for powerful enough computers like the one I have. Honestly, with how it loads so slowly like that, it would be much better to just download the SPC and listen to it in SPC700 Player than to use that feature at all... Like, would there even be a way to optimize the code or something that would make it load faster, or at least a feature to turn the whole thing off and on when you need it?

Also, another thing which would be nice is a option to play BRRs the same way you would do with SPCs, but I don't think that would be really necessary and probably harder than it looks, so I wouldn't be surprised if it couldn't be done

I don't know about other people, but the SPC preview feature is blazing fast on my end (approximately 1 second to pop up and play a song). It's a lot faster than downloading and playing the SPC.

I don't know what exactly you mean by "loading the page" since you can play any SPC in the music section list page. Also, I might be wrong, but computer specs probably count less than internet speed for this feature to load faster. Maybe it's something else entirely though, like your browser derping.
Yeah, I kinda thought it was something like that instead lol; still tho, I dunno, I think it would still be nice to at least have a option to turn it off if you need to have actually good internet speeds for it to load the way it should, which admittely it's not a thing I really have :V

Also, by loading the page, correct me if I'm wrong on this, but IIRC, when you go to the SMW music section, before you can do anything, the SPC preview code starts to load first, and then you have to wait for a bit before you can actually do anything else. It could just be not happening on your end tho, but it's definitely happening on mine ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The entire code for the SPC player is half the size of the site banner. On top of that, it's static code which should be cached by your browser. We can almost certainly rule out your Internet speed. This could turn out to be tricky to investigate - could you please make a separate thread for it? Make sure to include, at the very least, your operating system, browser's version, and any other information you think may affect this.
I suggest the duration of each music in the SPC preview feature to actually play instead of just showing how long it is, much like the other SPC player we have.
(If it's not of any trouble, that is)

It's a feature I've considered before - I don't remember why I never added it. I'll assign this to issue #75 and look into it again.
Having a "Preview" button for Staff Feedback would be helpful. Not entirely necessary since I don't think that page was intended for people to write paragraphs worth of text, but this is me we're talking about here so of course I would do something like that.

Don't see why not. I'll take care of it tomorrow.
An old one; layouts still can't be disabled in PMs. I haven't needed this in a long time, but back when I made layouts for people this was a big concern cause I couldn't preview it properly for them when sending via PM.

This is already on our internal issue tracker - in fact, it's issue #2. Like the previous suggestion, I'll take care of it later today after we launch C3.
Sorting threads by creation date would be a nice feature if it's not too tricky.

Without looking at any code, I doubt it'd be too hard. I'll assign this to issue #77.
