So many Kaizos

please elaborate it with valid arguments

Well, since you probably didn't read any of the posts leading you to wanting a more valid elaboration. What I'm saying is, since the rapid increase in the hacks have been Kaizos lately, I'm simply suggesting to have a subsection for the Kaizos within the SMW hacks so that those who want only Kaizos can access theem WITHOUT having to skim through the big list to find kaizos. Same in vice versa. That, or at least add a toggling feature for looking through "Difficulty" like they have for "Name", "Date", "Length", etc.

If that wasn't valid and simple enough for you then, maybe, just MAYBE, this discussion wasn't meant for you. :-)
yes ive read and i think its..... well doesnt matter what i think..

ill just say..
your difficulty with navigating the website is not a valid argument;

website is easy enough to navigate. In less than a couple of minutes you can find any hack you want, with the characteristics you want.. and you probably will only need to navigate it once a week? or month?
i really doubt anyone would use it often enough to justify segmenting it.

btw.. ive just tested the "filter results" feature and it works fine for sorting length, rating, date, etc

ill help you:
1 - go to the hack section

2 - click on "filter results"

3 - select the difficulty you want, then click apply

4 - now you can use the date, length, or whatever stuff you want.

i hope this is easy enough to you
It seems to me that what is being argued here is the possibility of adding a link directly to the left of filter results labelled 'kaizo hacks' which when clicked and entered also has a filter results option with a difficulty drop down ranging from light to pit. Removing the need for those options to be there in the main, now non-kaizo, smw hacks section. That main smw hack difficulty drop down can now range simply from easy to very hard.

ta-daa~

thats the thing.. and for people who want to see all the hacks of all difficulties?
such link would do no good.. and the "filter results" already do the job of "filtering" what you want.. its literally just 4 clicks more
I believe that the actual reason that some peoples have about the explosion of kaizo:light hacks is all about of fear. Fear that hacks like that will put casual hacks into the oblivion, but isn't true.

Since 2015 i see many casual hacks on this site and many of them are simple hacks. And the good ones? Well, they still there (although "good" is something subjective). In other hand, the large amount of casual hacks did not kill the Kaizo trend so... why they will be a issue now?

The irony is that a minority are complaining about, so isn't a big deal. If were half of the active fórum so this nice discussion would be valid. After see your beatiful "argument" to start this thread all what i can say is that more one case of nitpick.

Gonna agree with Darkness-light here / disagree with NaroGugul.
I don't mind if kaizo should have their own section or not, but if not the difficulty filter could be improved.
The problem with the current one is that it's a dropdown menu.
That means you can only chose one.
So if you want to filter kaizo hacks? You can't search for all non Kaizo hacks, aka for Easy, Normal, Hard and Very Hard hacks. Only one at a time.
A simple solution could be to replace the dropdown menu by a multi-select list just like the one used for Purpose in the SMW Graphics section, so by holding CTRL you can pick all difficulties except the kaizo ones.

Anyway I blame the popularity of Kaizo hacks on the rise of twitch and streaming. Most people make kaizo hacks only to have their favorite streamer play it on stream. It's more made to be watched (and watch the reaction of the streamer) than to be played.
Nothing wrong with that, I'm also guilty of that having made a kaizo hack myself. Just differents mindset, differents audience. Kaizo hacks won't replace normal hacks.
As someone said, if you want to see more non-kaizo hacks, just make one yourself. I want to but I'm either too lazy or don't have time. Maybe in 2019. orz

Sorry for divert the topic (I don't have too much to say which hasn't been said anyway), but this would be a really nice feature *stares at Telinc/Alcaro*

i agree a multi-select list or checkboxes would be an improvement.
but still you can always do multiple searches. Doesnt take that much time anyway.

What im against is segregation, which to me makes absolutely no sense.

And btw.. i really dont believe harder kaizos (as in rta viable/ kaizo:light) will last that long. Kaizo is rapdly changing to an easier and more playable genre which takes advantage of the mechanics of the game and revolve around gimmicks and stuff. With some eventual trolls here and there.. there always be high skill based hacks, but i believe in the near future it will be the minority.

Thank You! That's LITERALLY all I've been trying to get across! Thanks for making it clearer. I just hope the site owners will at least try it.

I don't really care whether they do or not. I'm not really a fan of strictly Kaizo hard anymore. Any hacks I might have on the shelf that are Kaizo hard, as long as I don't actually have to play the level design, I might be open to fixing some things to be more releasable, but I guess general laziness.
Kaizo medium or light appeal much more to me. I'm fine with requiring savestates but at the same time also looking (only) somewhat do-able.

I'm not a huge Kaizo player (with a few exceptions), but kaizo romhacks are probably harder to make than regular romhacks, especially beta-testing it, but some of the regular romhacks that we're seeing now are usually adding a lot more "normal" things (not any creative stuff that's supposedly kaizo related) take Super Wakana Land, Sicari: Remastered, and the beta versions of New Super Mario World 2 (G.D. / Pink Gold Peach). Who knows...

Conspiracy Theory:
Kaizo SMW romhacks are a distraction, hiding the hidden romhacks *cough* SMWCentral Production 2 *cough* & Touhou Mario 2 *cough* *cough*.

Really:
That's not true...

I guess you (OP) should be a bit more clear so it doesn't have more than one interpretation of your thoughts next time then? We interpreted as we saw it.

I don't mind if a multiselect list is used instead of dropdown boxes.

Multiselect list would be a good option for those who only wanna lok for kaizos. It definitely makes searching not only for kaizo: light hacks but also kaizo: hard ones easier.

Also, for your future reference, if you clarify your point more, you'll get less pointless posts as it had place here in this thread.
I have a Discord server as well! (by joining, you agree to the rules)

How so?

I'll admit that there are many Kaizo hacks, but unfortunately no Kaizo Hard. I should put aside my laziness and release mine too. But that will never happen lmao

Also use the filter thingy
Alright, you know what, to make this easier, I suggest a petition.
A petition to change the dropdown to either a multiselect list or set of checkboxes as has been talked about before. It seems that it would solve most of the problems that everyone has complained about on here.
