Requires Free Space: Yes
Bug Fix: No
Featured: No
Description: Makes invincible Mario use a single palette.
Screenshots:
Download: Download Backup - 472 bytes
Update submitted.
File Name: No Star & P-switch music
Added:
Authors: Ersanio
Tool: xkas
Requires Free Space: No
Bug Fix: No
Featured: No
Description: This patch disables the star and P-switch music, so the level music plays without any interrupt. Apply this patch after each time you insert a song with Romi's addmusic. Doesn't work with AMK.
Download: Download Backup - 360 bytes
As stated, it doesn't work with AddMusicK, the recent standard for music insertion.

And Gloomy has also linked an AMK-compatible method for disabling the Star and P-switch music.
File Name: ExSprites Hijack
Added:
Authors: Jagfillit
Tool: xkas
Requires Free Space: Yes
Bug Fix: No
Featured: No
Description: This patch allows for manual insertion of custom sprites.
Download: Download Backup - 3.17 KiB
With PIXI/GIEPY it's enough. We don't need a seventh sprite tool.
File Name: P-Balloon Acceleration + Extras
Submitted: by LMPuny
Obsoletes: P-Balloon Acceleration + Extras
Authors: Erik
Tool: Asar
Requires Free Space: Yes
Bug Fix: No
Featured: No
Description: This patch will give Mario extra acceleration when pressing the X or Y buttons while on the P Balloon.

Additionally, you can also configure it to:

- make the player not lose the P balloon if he gets hurt

- fix the bug when pressing left and right at the same time

Tester's Note: The default speed when accelerating is fast enough to phase through walls, similar to the bug when pressing left and right at the same time. You may want to modify the tables in the patch and decrease the maximum speed.
Screenshots:
Download: Download Backup - 888 bytes
Rejecting because of one main reason: I can change the balloon speeds to whatever value higher than SMW default (that is $10 in the X-axis), and Mario will phase into a wall and potentially die. Minor, but needs to be fixed in order for this patch to be accepted.
File Name: Fireball Ammo Counter
Submitted: by MarioFanGamer
Obsoletes: Fireball Ammo Counter
Authors: 0x400, MarioFanGamer
Tool: Asar
Requires Free Space: Yes
Bug Fix: No
Featured: No
Description: This patch makes it cost an adjustable amount of coins OR points to shoot a fireball. (You can't shoot when you don't have enough.) This might be useful for some shoot 'em up hacks.
Screenshots:
Only problem I found is that if score is shared between players (!use_score = 1, !check_player = 0), it isn't shared visually, which means there's no way to tell how much score player 1 have (which is meant to be shared), when second player's in play, because player 2's score is shown up instead. Fix it and it should be fine.

File Name: Koyukillo's amazing smb2/dokidokipanic holding patch!
Submitted: by MarioFanGamer
Obsoletes: Koyukillo's amazing smb2/dokidokipanic holding patch!
Authors: KilloZapit, Koyuki
Tool: Asar
Requires Free Space: Yes
Bug Fix: No
Featured: No
Description: This is a patch to change holding an object to work like smb2/dokidokipanic: You hold it above your head and release by pressing the button again rather then needing to hold it down. In addition goombas and sprites with the act-like byte set to be the same (most smb2 sprites are) can bounch off sprites when thrown and can hit many enemies in a row.

Now hopefully bug free, so it doesn't fail anymore!
Screenshots:
It's not converted to SA-1, which is almost a removal reason. The real removal reason, though, is that it glitches with sprites like the spring board, in which the player can't kick it. Minor, I know, but needs to be fixed. Otherwise, it's a good patch.

Rejected in accordance to the second topic of the patch guidelines: xkas patches would not be accepted anymore.
File Name: 16-Bit Frame Counter
Added:
Authors: imamelia
Tool: xkas
Requires Free Space: Yes
Bug Fix: No
Featured: No
Description: A simple patch that adds a second frame counter to the game (requiring 2 bytes of free RAM), one that goes from 0000-FFFF instead of just 00-FF.
Screenshots:
An update was accepted.
File Name: Trust Fund
Submitted: by Major Flare
Obsoletes: Trust Fund
Authors: Glyph Phoenix
Tool: Asar
Requires Free Space: Yes
Bug Fix: No
Featured: No
Description: A hack that does not allow Mario to collect bonus stars unless he has all 5 dragon coins in a level.
Screenshots:
I don't think this patch is good as-is. It doesn't allows player to get bonus stars after beating level with all dragon coins being collected. It doesn't checks if player have collected all dragon coins in level, but rather how many dragon coins player have gathered at the moment.

Hex edit at $05CDE3 is dumb, since it affects drumroll that plays not only when getting bonus stars, but also when getting score.

Also I suggest you make it disable bonus stars at the end of the level untill player collects all DC's, because it looks dumb when you technically get bonus stars after touching goal tape.
File Name: Overworld palette ExAnimation
Added:
Authors: Adam, Incognito
Tool: Asar
Requires Free Space: Yes
Bug Fix: No
Featured: No
Description: This patch animates three colors on the overworld: the yellow and red level dots, and an additional blue color in slot $5D. It should be easily customizable to add other colors, given how the dynamic color upload routing $0682 works.

Built on Adam's ancient patch that used to work.

Reject because LM's newer versions made this patch obsolete.
File Name: Powerup Instead of 1-up
Added:
Authors: wiiqwertyuiop
Tool: xkas
Requires Free Space: Yes
Bug Fix: No
Featured: No
Description: This patch will give you a powerup when you get 100 coins instead of a 1-up.

Merged with Star When 100 Coins, also by wiiqwertyuiop, and submitted as an update to the latter. Both patches were nearly identical.
File Name: Level specific speeds for Monty Moles and Hammers
Submitted: by Major Flare
Obsoletes: Level specific speeds for Monty Moles and Hammers
Authors: Lui37
Tool: Asar
Requires Free Space: Yes
Bug Fix: No
Featured: No
Description: Normally, Monty Moles wait more time before jumping out if the level is in the Yoshi's Island submap, while Hammer Brothers throw hammers more quickly if the level is in any submap. With this patch, you can decide for every "overworld level" (see $13BF) whether Monty Moles should jump out quickly or slowly, and whether Hammer Brothers should throw hammers quickly or slowly.
You can also change the speed values themselves directly in the ASM file if you wish to do so.

update: fixed bug with the Amazing Flyin' Hammer Bro only throwing hammers in one direction, thanks to medic.
Screenshots:
Have you ever tested it in SA-1?
The issue: The JML jumps to banks $80+ which in a regular LoROM is a mirror to banks $00-$6F but in an SA-1 ROM, banks $80+ are never a mirror to banks $00-$6F. This results the game freezing/crashing whenever a mole is onscreen.
File Name: 3 Yoshi Coins in Level
Added:
Authors: Alcaro
Tool: xkas
Requires Free Space: No
Bug Fix: No
Featured: No
Description: This patch will modify the yoshi coins needed in a level to get a 1-Up. You can change in the ASM file how many coins you want to get a 1-Up.

(By default is 3)

No credit nor freespace needed.

Hex edit, logged here instead.
File Name: Framal Controller
Submitted: by Major Flare
Obsoletes: Framal Controller
Authors: wiiqwertyuiop
Tool: Asar
Requires Free Space: Yes
Bug Fix: No
Featured: No
Description: This will add another controller address, in which you can choose when it's cleared, kinda like $16, only you can choose how many frames to wait until its cleared. I think I fixed everything now.

Converted to asar, added SA-1 support.
Download:Download Backup - 552 bytes

Rejecting for lack of purpose.

This patch's function is as follows: "So long as any button(s) are held down every frame, a counter increases every four frames up to a specified amount, at which point the counter clears and stays at zero. The buttons held down include everything except L and R, and does not differentiate between A/B and X/Y. The buttons held down may be switched up at will so long as there are no frames in which no button is held down."

Perhaps if the counter only timed the holding of one configurable button this patch would have more of a niche, but as is there's not much of use going on here. The cramped formatting isn't doing it any favors, either.
File Name: ExGFX Revolution Patch Set v1.2.2
Added:
Authors: edit1754
Tool: xkas
Requires Free Space: Yes
Bug Fix: No
Featured: Yes
Description: Contains:

- REMAP.asm v1.2.2 (for LM1.91+)

- REMAP_old.asm v1.2.1 (for LM1.70-LM1.90)

- genericuploader.asm v1.2

- transparencyfix.asm v1.0.2

This allows you to:

1) have two extra ExGFX files with almost no sacrifice

2) have four* extra ExGFX files, and sacrifice layer 3

3) have an 8BPP BG, and sacrifice layer 3

*BG6&7 can only be used for the BG, and the BG can't use FG1&2 anymore

Changes in v1.2.2:

- LM1.91 compatibility for REMAP.asm, moved LM1.90 REMAP.asm to REMAP_old.asm

- unrolled loop in transparencyfix.asm

Changes in v1.2.1:

- REMAP.asm includes alternate stripe image upload routine. Accounts for LM1.7+ hijacks. No longer causes VBlank overflow on title screen.

- genericuploader.asm no longer uses huge inefficient table design.

- Removed LZ2.asm (LM1.82+ has the option to apply this patch automatically)

You'll also need to download:

- uberASM (or old LevelASM+Init/LevelASMTool)

- Layer 3 ExGFX (reloads overwritten layer 3 GFX)

- Sprite Status Bar (if you want to use BG6&7 or 8BPP BGs)

Moderator's note: Ignore the file "REMAP - Copy.asm" and use "REMAP.asm" normally. Also don't use this patch if you saved the ROM in first time with the option "Prefer Saving in 2MB+ ROM Area" selected on Lunar Magic.

Warning: Not compatible with Lunar Magic 2.3x.
Download:Download Backup - 26.46 KiB
Because the patch is incompatible Lunar Magic version 1.8 (or rather, the ExGFX remapper) or later, we have no reason to keep it in the section anymore.
File Name: OW Coin Counter
Added:
Authors: Iceguy
Tool: Asar
Requires Free Space: Yes
Bug Fix: No
Featured: No
Description: This patch will show the number of coins you have on the OW border, like in the beta version of SMW.

It will only work with the original SMW coin counter though.

Ladida's Overworld Counters is this but more.
File Name: OW Status Bar Number
Added:
Authors: wiiqwertyuiop

Requires Free Space: Yes
Bug Fix: No
Featured: No
Description: This patch makes a number appear in the status bar depending of what main map or sub map is Mario. Made by request.

Removed because of these two reasons:

1) It can be easily replicated with UberASM;

2) Analyzing the manner which this patch is coded, I could reduce the code to this, because of the defines:

Code
LDA $1F11|!addr ; Change to $1F12 for Luigi
	INC
	STA $0EF9|!addr
	RTL
File Name: Music Hack
Added:
Authors: wiiqwertyuiop
Tool: Asar
Requires Free Space: No
Bug Fix: No
Featured: No
Description: This is kinda hard to explain so let me give you an example of what this does. Lets say you had a song that you wanted to play in every grassland stage. Well with this patch you can make a custom or normal song play in every grassland, castle, cave, etc. without having to go in each level and changing the music. Requires no freespace.
Download:Download Backup - 692 bytes
It's a bunch of simple hex edits; also, you can do the same thing using AMK.
File Name: Counter Break
Added:
Authors: Glyph Phoenix
Tool: xkas
Requires Free Space: No
Bug Fix: No
Featured: No
Description: Resets several statuses when going from level to level, such as Yoshi status, powerup status, coin total and reserved item. Original IPS code by Glyph Phoenix.
Download:Download Backup - 752 bytes
Removed because it can be replicated with UberASM, gamemodes 11 or 12.
File Name: Always feather or flower
Added:
Authors: Ultrabi
Tool: Asar
Requires Free Space: Yes
Bug Fix: No
Featured: No
Description: This patch let's you change your current powerup to a cape or flower by pressing L or R.

Works better if you apply the Metroid HP patch (even though it's not needed).

Request by Guilherme F Santos.
Download:Download Backup - 1.07 KiB
It can be replicated with level or gamemode UberASM; therefore, rejected.
