SMWCentral BBCode

Just wondering...
What BBCode tags are actually implemented in SMWCentral?

whatever you see at the top of the messages, and I assume nothing else. I might be wrong...

For everything else you use HTML/CSS.

Edit: That would be Bold, Italics, Underline, Strikethrough...

OMFG, HTML actually works in posts!

THANKS BOOM!

And you n00bs better not abuse it.

May be a bumb, but I kinda figured HTML works everywhere here, because HTML can be used for your post layout.

And YOU better not abuse it. Leave the n00bs alone, they will be dealt with appropriately.
Slightly well-versed on everything LinuxI'll beta-test your hack. Find me here!

It doesn't work in news comments.

And no, I won't abuse it. The reason I created this thread is because I needed a better way to organize my posts, other than using the code and quote BBcode tags. I'm NOT going to use it to alter the site, although Boom has probably dealt with that already. I'm also not going to fill my post with the bloated YouTube Player.

I'm just worried that some n00bs will convince Boom and Smalls to disallow HTML altogether.

And there is no such thing as a 2 day bump :)

>_<
I think you were HTML banned....
What CSS classes are each of the BBCode values?
yes, darthriko was html banned. bbcode is basically a simpler form of html, but it is limited as well. Bold, Italics, Underline, Strikethrough, Color, URL, and Image should be obvious. However...

Don't DO THAT, unless you put your entire post & sig in a DIV and do it like this:

Originally posted by div#your_post_div_id .quote .boxhead
div#your_post_div_id .quote .box

Code
Top is div#your_post_div_id .code .boxhead
Box is div#your_post_div_id .code .box

Or you could overwrite everyone's code's and quote's styles, and risk being HTML and BBCODE banned.

HTML is filtered, even if you are not HTML banned. The SCRIPT tag is banned, with good reason.

The LINK (NOT a href="") tag is banned too, because someone got on Boom.dk's bad side and changed the icon (yoshi's house) of this site. Now we all have to use @ import to use external stylesheets.

Not all people use divs, and it could easily be done without the "div#"

Correct, but you do need an id'ed or class'ed container tag of some sort.

EDIT: Like my Quote "Skin"?
EDIT2: And my Code "Skin" ?

omg I love that custom quote <3 how make?

I have no idea how to make gradients or transparencies work in CSS but thats how he did it. Also, the quote box goes outside the quote box if it is in the quote box. You should try to fix it. Maybe, with some javascript you could make it so that is reduces the size of your text if you have enough text because that looks like an oversized post.

Gradients in CSS? Serious lolque. As far as I know, that's a background, the gradient itself has nothing to do with the CSS. :V
Secondly, javascript can't be used on SMWC, and you could easily change the appearence of a quote inside a quote via CSS, in any case..
It's a background. I made both the quote one and the code one in Inkscape and touched them up in GIMP. There are no gradients in CSS.

CSS code:
Code
.fyarballmain .quote{background-image:
url("http://ftp.fyarball.kicks-ass.net/share/misc/quotehd_s.png");
background-repeat: no-repeat; width: 394px }
.fyarballmain .quote .box{ background-image:
url("http://ftp.fyarball.kicks-ass.net/share/misc/quotebody_s.png");
position: relative; top:15px; border-style: none none solid none;
border-color: black; border-width: 3px;}

Where fyarballmain is the class of the body of my post "window".
Use it if you want to, just don't hotlink the images.

Yeah I realize the sub-quotes go outside of the boundary.. The only way to fix it in this case would be to make the sub-quotes just be a box like the original SMWC quote boxes, because they use a fixed width - the width of the background image.

EDIT: Attempted to fix it with positioning and overflow control, but it looked worse.
Conclusion: That looks good enough even though the right border is off.
EDIT2: Preview Grounds:
